Would love to hear some of that!

I'm not tired of the subject yet.  This is like sitting in a smoky shebeen two hundred years ago listening to the local raconteur relate stories of the little people and what happens if you walk past the old standing stones too late at night.

Ha, so true.  I enjoy the variety of subjects Art covers, but I think he could up his game with some new guests.

I've heard of some pretty ridiculous stories around pregnancy in my nursing career, but no alien pregnancies, lol.  Mostly woman who arrive in labor at 9 mos and claim they had "no idea" they were pregnant.  Likewise, women often have miscarriages without realizing it's happened.  It's amazing how many people are in denial or clueless about their most basic health issues.

We discussed this in the OSOM thread a while back.
I'm so out of the loop, i feel like the ugly stepchild

Dude, I think I was just abducted.
(Sorry, I think this guy is full of crap)

Money is ok as an explanation for people who write books but most of the people reporting being abducted don't profit in the least.  Why do they do it?  Some attention, escaping a mundane existence, is my best guess, but not sure.

What's with the reproductive stuff -- creating a compelling narrative out of a repressed fantasy, casting oneself in the story as genetically desirable?

Any stuff good? I'm not a huge Sci-Fi fan, sorry, but sometimes if well written or cool themes. But, in those who do, good stuff, or just "churning it out"-to use Norry term to an AUTHOR during an interview! And I mean "good" like enjoyable- not everything is a classic but enjoyable or interesting.

Not really, just a bunch of attempts to recycle the old stuff in repackage books for Steiger. Very little new stuff in that run of books from Visible Ink.

people tend to be idiots thats the problem

Wow, but I still say that looks like more like "sovereign citizen" or "hippie" type of stuff with the fake licences, plates, etc?

I really don't understand why Art chose to have Jacobs on again so soon.  I heard nothing new or earth-shattering.

There you go. Now you're getting it.   :D

Attention or delusion.

No no. That's one of the original plates Hoagland made while in prison with Booty Juice Johnson.
You can buy them as vanity plates now.

Steiger kicks out more than one a year, or was. He's a book machine on level with Asimov, or at least was a few years ago. I was getting samples from him from Visible Ink Press on a seemingly monthly basis there for a while. He's up there in age now I think though. Guess he was padding the retirement cash.

Yeah. he's still kicking them out.  He's slowed down a little bit and his wife is helping him more.  His web page mentions a monthly e-book called Real Nightmares.

Many people are bored with the mundane nature of life. The day to day struggles, going into some boring day job and making barely enough to survive. Some seek solace in television. Some play video games. Some people go out and do gardening or golfing. But there is a certain cross section of society that isn't satisfied with those simple techniques. For them, something much more complex and mysterious is required to fill the void.  Enter the aliens lol

Expect it from Hoagland now. Faster and faster book production to keep the money flowing. He's been hinting at it on his show.

I'm in.
I have a recording studio im my house, its nothing special but i have a mixer and very good mic's and its has some sound baffling.
I use it mostly for music but it would work fine for a broadcast.

Don't get me wrong, I buy paper-milled, I think almost algorithm generated, books, sometimes. For flights etc. And there are formulas, for sure, in many genres. I wonder the future in many genres with ghostwriters and, worse, the segmentation of market; much worse the quality of writing and references/history in modern books.

Mental illness.  Seeking something meaningful and powerful.  Wanting to stand out.  Just a few thoughts.

Same here, if you want to do something, I'll go for it. Could be fun as hell.

You might like anything by Rudy Rucker. Great sci-fi. Wetware is a good one to start with.

Booty warriors need love too.
Especially after a good corn-holin' by a wretched team of filthy space-goblins.
