How ironic!  In episode 595, Wells is criticizing Google for moderating its search engine.  LOL's  I left him a comment about it.  It will be interesting to see if it passes moderation.

Wells is a shameless hypocrite.  I have heard him go back on himself many times.  In episode 594 he used one of his mocking voices to criticize people who say they are Christians but don't go to church much when I have heard him say that he doesn't belong to a church or attend church regularly.   When he was taking heat for bringing on John Wayne's supposed grandson he told us that he takes people at their word but how many times has he said that he takes nothing on face value and checks everything out.  It has gotten to be comical.  We should rename this blog Well's Wonderland of Self Contradiction.

I know most people don't, but I watch the video edition of Wells programs.  I am not happy with the way they pause/stop themselves in the same places over and over, and it's impossible to catch some of what they're saying.  YouTube is a much better service IMO, and it's free.

Watched it on YouTube during some down time today.  I think the version I watched must have been truncated as it abruptly ended at 1:53:14 during a scene where the ballards were playing bumper tag.
What did I miss?

Are we talking here about posting on the CHATWING thread?  I scanned that site a while ago and all I saw was vapid chatter--nothing in the way of objective analysis or criticism of Wells or his guests.  It looks sanitized.  It seems to me that the thread is more censored than it is moderated. 

I tried posting something on Well's Facebook page without success.  Well's can't deal with criticism notwithstanding the fact that criticizing people places and things on a broad scale is a big part of his act.   I doubt that your spot-on commentary will see the light of day in any forum controlled by Wells.  His delicate temperament prevents him entertaining contrary views.  What an asshole!

Wells asked Mark if he got people trashing him for his books.  Mark told him sure, but that comes with the territory.  Later Wells says people are afraid to talk about things outside of the mainstream narrative.  I have heard his guests tell him over and over, that it's expected, it goes with the territory. Wells seems to be only one of very few who makes a big deal of being criticized.  I think he takes himself far too seriously, and needs to stop wimping like a 5 year old.  Just my opinion.

He further talks about Hilliary trying to have sites like Drudge taken down from the internet, and proudly claims that his program is never mentioned, and prides himself for flying under the radar.  Yet, here we are, posting about his show, daily, here on bellgab.  (I never thought of bellgab as being under the radar, but who knows)?

Oh GAWD, Wells is talking about Keith Emmerson. Every chance he gets, he is trying to make his critics feel guilty, even to the point of blaming peoples posts on Emmerson's death.  He goes on to say that words matter, and artists are sensitive souls who hope for our approval.  I say he's wrong. Artists create for the joy of it, knowing full well, not everyone will appreciate it, and some, maybe even many, will hate it. Many artists through history, have not been known till after their death, sometimes their work becomes valuable, only because no more will ever be made.  Many never made a penny from their work.  If an artist expected approval from everyone, well, they would choose to flip burgers instead.

Meanwhile, Wells is often, if not constantly,  himself, very critical of others.  Let me guess, when HE is critical, it's called "truth".

I'll be honest.  Many artists, just think they're artists.

If Wells keeps going on with this dribble, I'm afraid my posts are going to get more and more cantankerous.

I will go try to listen to #596 now.

This is a copy/paste of a long thought out post I typed, and almost clicked the post button, to submit it to your site, but due to the slowness of the moderation on your site, and indeed, the possibility that my post might never be approved at all, I can only hope that you will read this, and give it some thought.

Dear Mr. Wells,

Let me start off by saying that I am a believer in freedom of speech, and I support your freedom to express your beliefs and feelings freely, just as I ask the same for all others, myself included.  Now, my point...
You often talk about critical posters, and even are heard to ask guests if they have to take a lot of grief for their work.  I often hear them say yes, it goes with the turf. You seem to bring it up a lot.
Remember yourself saying, words matter? You were talking about Keith Emerson. I got the impression that you were suggesting that others should be careful about what they say, lest they bring someone to depression and despair.  Is it ok if I suggest then, that  if politicians see themselves as sensitive global artists, well, you might be driving them to despair and depression with your broadcasts?  The same could be said of other cultures and religious beliefs. Perhaps they too see themselves as sensitive global artists, trying to create a better world, from their personal point of view.  Now, mind you, I agree with some of your assessments, and I feel sure that you would justify your verbal "trolling"  (your word, not mine, I don't believe in trolls.)  of them under the banner of "truth", but you can't have it both way can you? A poster being critical of a sensitive artists work, is another persons "truth".   Critical words are critical words just the same.  Just 'sayin.

Been experiencing problems with cancellation notice even though the subscription is still active as an app. on my Ipad,  it is not active on my laptop.  Sent an email and received an answer very quickly - here is the rub, I was requested to "Can you please create a new subscription and on the chec out page add
this coupon - "free-3-months".  Now that is just great but on the home page go to new subscriptions and the cost has gone up to 10.00 per month, 25.00 for three months.  Did I miss something or did John not mention subscription cost increase.  Still showing 5.00 per month/15 for 3 on renewal.

I cancelled paypal a few weeks ago, but still had till Sept 14 to go.  I guess I've been moderated out at the cheaper rate.  Thanks Brig, it will all work out.  As far as the rate increase maybe I have been asleep at the wheel and he put newbies up ages ago.

That I am not sure of.  Nonetheless a rate increase without notifying current members is shady practice.

Here is the rub, if I as a member from day one am experiencing cancellation issues as a result of an upgrade and am directed to the new subscription page with the carrot of 3 free months as opposed to renewal at the old rate (renewal seems to be at the new rate following cancellation also).  Anyway, it will soon become a non issue, but I won't bite off my nose and not resubscribe I'll hold my nose and get 3 free months.
