They didn't "seen" a bright light.  They SAW a bright light.  That drives me crazy.

Me, too.  What's so hard about using the word "saw" ???

I asked her to steal an ashtray from Art's house for me....she had ONE JOB...and she didn't do it yet.

*sigh*

It goes back even further.  Way back to Greek philosophy and Solipsism.

If only our minds and imaginations exist, the physical world is nothing but a projection.  It's fake.
Not so much fake as an illusion.  Form follows thought.

From "Illusions" by Richard Bach.   ". . . the sunset is an illusion.  It's the beauty that is real."

Phoenix has some of the finest medical facilities in the country. This is maybe because there are so many older people living there. But Phoenix is also the 5th largest metropolitan areas in the USA. I bet you didn't know that. So what? Travis mentioned where he had his brain tests done, and it is in Phoenix.

When someone starts a sentence with "I seen", chances are it won't be followed by "the inside of a book"

You have that slightly wrong. Art already went back in time and changed the mircowave cooking directions on the back of the pizza roll box from 2 minutes to 20 minutes.
Mission complete!
Nice one Art! ;D

Yeah that confirms what I was saying about the "sticking to what I can document" comment.

He means he doesn't want to go all "woo-woo" and make comments that aren't concrete.

I'd concur with that strategy.

Meh.  It's all the same shit.  Words, talk, concepts, ideas.  People keep repeating the same things over and over throughout history.

Maybe CERN will help us figure it all out.

We're now dealing with this: A technologically mature civilization would have enormous computing power. Based on this empirical fact, the simulation argument shows that at least one of the following propositions is true:

1. All civilizations in the universe destroy themselves before they build a computer sufficiently capable of simulating a universe.

2. All civilizations in the universe choose not to create such a simulation.

3. The universe we live in is a simulation because it's near statistically impossible that we are living in the original universe.

CERN probably won't help, but studying the behavior of cosmic rays might:

We're in a new world on this question.

Yep ol Travis spins a great story.  For a guy that's been around for decades now, got'a give him credit for making life time of earnings for going off on a 5 day drunk.

This is one truly terrifyingly existential proposition.
