So after four years the guy doesn't even build a sex-bot?  Hmmph, some engineer.

His priorities were totally out of wack...literally.  ;)

I mentioned elsewhere that I totally eye-rolled at the book .. but maybe the movie's good.

Andy Weir is a coder from Mountain View â€" or, was â€" so his prose will never be mistaken for William Gibson.  This works in Ridley's favor â€" he brings style and taste and rich aesthetic detail to the breathlessly geeky (albeit suspenseful) narrative.

I strongly suspect this is the rare case where the movie script outshines the book.  The latter would however be a great companion book for an applied math course.   :)

what 3 books would u have taken into the future ?
I have been asked this before, i think these where my answers
A Farewell to Arms
Catch 22
And maybe some great history book to show the future about the past.

I lobby to bring back that earlier TL incarnation, the one with the eye shadow, and mystical robe ... or, um, is that weird I remember that.

Think you could fit a bit of her in there?  ???

No fucking way is there going to be brokered convention with Democrats putting in Joe Biden.

You literally would turn off the entire democratic voting base.

Fair; it's a superb screenplay.  An adaptation as successful as Jurassic Park.

Wait .. is this a live show, or from like 12 mos. ago?  This guy thinks the Dems will have a brokered convention?  Wtf?

This one is good
Martian.2015.720p.WEBRip.x264.AAC-ETRG.mp4
and only 1.03 gigs
Other 1080 rips available, also, but im tellin ya, i watched the first 2 min and this is a good rip

Keep an eye out for the x265 codec rips.
They use a bit more cpu processing due to high efficiency video encoding but saves on the file size and can pack more quality into the encode (depending on the person encoding settings and original source).

I watched The Martian a week or so ago (The Martian 2015 1080p WEB-DL DD5.1 HEVC x265-RmTeam [1080P][HEVC] - [1.22 GB]).
Decent movie. But a bit too much comedic relief for my liking.

This may apply to you if you decide to check out the x265 encodes of videos.

To Enable Playback Of HEVC (H.265) just run the following commands via your systems Terminal.

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:strukturag/libde265
.
sudo apt-get update
.
sudo apt-get install gstreamer1.0-libde265 gstreamer0.10-libde265
