the very brief explanation...he screwed up with Ross his producer...Ross quit..he got new producer who has been on more then the guests...since new producer has arrived he has not had 1 good show starting with the first show under new producer where it was a 2 hour interview with said producer on what was supposed to be open lines..in the roughly 4 weeks since then we have had 2 or 3 repeat shows..a repeat guest..a few block nights of Mars/pluto stuff...the listeners have been accused otf eating his bandwidth and he has a personal disdain for us at Bellgab..oh and ran..what he said was na experiment on one of those repeat shows ..saying something about labels

Pretty much sums it up. But I would say he had one good show since producer "change" about Shortwave/Radio, but mainly due to the guests and because I like that stuff. But spot-on for the rest of the summation.

He was a Dick. For a short period he stopped being a Dick and people subscribed and even wanted more.  He went back to be being a Dick. Egotistical narcissist has been postulated as a preliminary diagnosis.

Useless eater... I dunno.  I don't even understand wtf that means.  Hoagie's problem is more that his show sucks.  There are reasons for that.  One is that it's generally about nothing.  Another is that his arcology stuff is intellectually insulting.  Still another is that he talks too much and needs direction.  Lastly, a decent lineup of guests will help immensely.

Listening to DMRN right now, Skywatchers Radio.  A caller is criticizing Bellgab and how horrible we've treated RCH.  He feels RCH should go to screen callers.  What ever!!!

A good producer solved most of that. Therein lies the problem and the solution.

He would be much better off if he just did a prerecorded show.  He was terrified of open lines before, and now he has no hope of getting serious callers.

The hate started when some dude that posts on Bellgab that's RH's producer quit. It's pretty stupid if you ask me.

It was such a fun show. But then his ego took over and he decided his silly radio show is this grand radio show that will force disclosure single handily. I mean he had a Dumbledore Cosplayer on who raised Unicorns on,  and he refused to even have fun with the Unicorn subject! Art would've have a field day with that. He thinks it's gonna be this serious show when no one, at that time of night, wants a completely serious show except his few fan boys.

Yes his Dick Cavett mode was great but it had this extra flavor of late night absurdity that made it really enjoyable and unique.

Completely agree.  It was fun.  But of late it is far too serious and forced, and just not enjoying to listen to.  The few times I have done lately, it's put me to sleep within 10 minutes.  So, yes, I am one of those dreadful Sleeping Persons, laptop still on, who is eating up RCH's valuable bandwidth.  $1,000 a month?!?!  Wow.  You'd think Keith could find it in his heart to give Richard a discount.

No kidding! I cancelled my subscription when I heard RCH's rant on his listeners.  He is an arrogant jerk and has earned the anger being shown. Plus he didn't wish Sandra a happy birthday.  Arrogant and condescending!!   :

I'm of the sort that thinks any publicity is good publicity. And many a "shock jock" radio host, or people like Morton Downey Jr, made a living by people hating him and being rude to guests and audiences. However, I'm not sure the "model" RCH is using will work out.

Not really my point. I never said he was an amazing host. He's kinda dickish but he is entertaining. You don't have to agree but why go out of your way to try to hurt his show? That's all I'm saying.

Yeah, but you have to be entertaining. The show post-Ross has not been entertaining, and the rudeness and condescension comes from the fact that he knows his show is tanking. It's not an act.
