Rix Gins has entered the building.  Hello sir!   :D

Hi Shay.  The place seems a bit busier tonight.  Has been like a tomb here the past two weeks.

A ring or equatorial swarm makes a lot more sense, right?

Yes, though there would be deviation to that much like our polar satellite orbits. Just depends on what the use of the object within the Dyson swarm is. A ring probably doesn't make sense though due to limits on the amount of matter that is available to the Type II civilization that built it assuming that FTL is impossible. Also depends on the number of objects they have, if they've got billions, then polar orbits make sense just so nothing hits anything else.

Everybody's getting sucked into the torsion field :(
No ! The Sith Alliance remains strong. The Star-Forge is turning out troops and ships to fight Hoaxy. The power of the dark side shall prevail.

It was probably some sort of brown dwarf globular cluster passing in front.

Well...maybe we will bring life to it.  I dunno.  My judgement is impaired.  ;)

Yeah, you'd need to disintegrate a few super Earths for that I would think.

I'm surprised Hoagie gets some of the guests he does, these people must not know all the websites that have made fun and debunked him for years.
Hoagie has no credibility, i understand some of these people are just selling books or spamming a website but it makes me feel that the guests are just as crazy as Hoagie  .

Yeah...but you feel better, don't you, being amongst a supportive thread?

You would need to disassemble every planet in your solar system. Though, that may not be that hard. Anders Sandberg wrote a paper in which we could disassemble Mercury in 31 years and build a partial Dyson shell. Take that with a grain of salt though.

Yeah.  I imagine Hoagie being dismissive. Ross created a balance that we all miss.

Memories...in the corners of my mind.  Misty water colored memories, of the way we were.
