i realized i never quite..answered as to why the venom to RCH and the unsub...well first and foremost Ross is one of us ..so its a show of solidarity

most, and i agree..that the show will just be a forum for RCH's madness and crazy theories..more so then what was already on the show..Ross seemed to temper it for the most part with interesting subjects outside of Dick's comfort zone and made him be a better interviewer...i do not think new executive producer will go that route

I was fine with madness and crazy theories, but I've lost my supension of disbelief regarding his character.

Do you think it's a sign Dick has never been on Art's show to promote his own. Seems like that would be a forgone conclusion. I said originally it was a terrible idea to bring this creep in and now I'm wondering how and why this happened. Especially since it's a huge benefit to Dave to take this lunatic con-man away from C2C.

The After-Art show should have had a revolving cast of guest hosts, from Hoagland to Kaku and everyone in between.

My personal thought is that Art should go 4 hours and then have his producer do a 1 hour wrapup.

i think it would be hilarious if Ross started to do a podcast that eventually..due to dwindling numbers for RCH ...took over his slot lol

The other, other side of midnight with your host ross campbell.

As a sore loser, stuffed to the very brim with sour grapes: I knew this was going to happen. I started putting Bella-Haven together before I learned along with everyone else that Hoagland had gotten the prized spot after Art. I figured people would catch on and demand better programming ... and then when Saucy Rossy came aboard and did such a spectacular job, wow. I was really mad at him for that.

He performed a miracle, but as expat has pointed out on numerous occasions, there is a pattern with Hoagland that doesn't vary. I heard him last night bragging that sometimes 25 people at a time subscribe -- in a single day! And he couldn't pay the producer who was such a perfect gauzy filter?

I turned off the stream last night and just considered the thread as the conversation salon with a super bunch of great regulars.  So at least for the time being I will stay hardcore, nightly. For an hour or so. Love ya bruupsters

The thing I feel the most upset about is just the feeling I was taken in by this con man creep. I think we all wanted Bella-Haven to succeed because we hated this creep yet when there wasn't an alternative and with Rossy working hard to build a fan base here, somehow we all got taken in.

I blame the opening. I have a passionate dislike of Dick but that opening for the show is so awesome that I would stay for it... then I would stay for Dick's 15 minutes of loony rambling at the top... before I knew it I was sucked in on the thread and zoning out on Dick, this thread and XBOX.

No more, never listening to this piece of trash again or giving him ratings in anything. I used to skip over him in the classic era because I couldn't stand him and now I've doubled down.

Thankfully I never subscribed but I was thinking about it to support this show. Now I want this fucker gone and someone who isn't a con-man lunatic brought in to fill that role. I also give it eight weeks before Hoagland completely self destructs. Well... seven weeks and six days now. Tick tick tick Dick.

Lets be honest, this thread helped make the show into the great thing it was. Even in the shows heyday I couldn't have listened to Hoaxland without our core group of thread posters who made it such a delight every night. While I was a huge fan, it's not like it is with Art where I can listen on my own if he has a great show. I came to bellgab to discuss Art with like minded fans. I stayed for Richard because I really enjoyed our group. The show became good enough for us to enjoy it and have our wacky thread party. How many inside jokes have resulted from this thread? I mean MMMM is now forever cemented in my mind because of what was said here last night (AHH).

The last two shows have shown us that Rossy might be a secret wizard. To be able to control Hoaxland the way he did to produce great radio is beyond the ability of normal humans. We were being presented with the image of Hoaxland being a lovable care free eccentric 70 year old Richard. I don't know as much about Hoaxland as the rest of you, I just remember him from the 90s being crazy, but he fooled everyone. The hints were always there, but we got so wrapped up in the new image of Hoaxland that we laughed it away as charming. Oh that crazy Richard name dropping again, isn't it adorable? No he really is that delusional and self important. It's not cute and adorable anymore.

It won't be too long until something/one decent takes this time slot.  Very few times did I get more involved with the show than with the braapsters.  I tried to listen to the archives a couple of times and it was pretty much unbearable without the live thread to distract me.  I kept the 19.5 sub just out of support. It was actually a relief to cancel it.
Either RCH will see the errors of his ways, man up and get a decent producer who he appreciates. Or not and we get a better product from someone else.  My money is on the latter

P.s. I feel your heartbreak, Sister

Eh, look how long Nooron the Moron has lasted.  At least evil RCH is whacky enough to be amusing, at times.  I empathize with Rossy, though, and am glad he walked if the RCH stuff is anywhere close to true.  Unfortunately, most prima donnas treat others as pond scum.  Welcome to the real world.

It would be something if Dick was actually a talent. But let's be reality, this show sucks a lot more than it doesn't. Dick was only decent when he had a challenging guest on which will never happen again. To be that much of an asshole yet have nothing to show for it except an internet radio show with the quality of OSM is just epic.

Also notice all the fuckups in the background and technical screw ups have come back in force in the last two broadcasts.

I think what happened is Dick got sick of Rossy constantly improving the show because goddamnit he's been in the business 70 years and used to get drunk with Walter Cronkite, he's not going to let some punk kid tell him how to run his show. Now we're back to the epic clusterfuck this show was in it's first few weeks.

This thread was Mystery Science Theater 3000 to Hoaxland's Other Side of Midnight. The magic Ross and the core group of Braapers brought to the show is gone.

I stand firm by my anti-hoagland values.  I'm coming from the expat/astroguy schools though.  A lot of people seem to have fond memories of him from the olden days when he had a half a shred of credibility.  I think that had allowed some of you to "let the vampire in." I'll give it to him he had a couple of good shows I managed to catch and he can at times be a great host but look at whats happened to his EGO now.

last night was horrid

Does it hurt from trying to get a good hook on it? Have you thought about a wrist guard? It will keep your wrist straight and helps you hook it. I really need a new balls. No matter what I do with my current ball, I cannot get it to hook. I could throw it and shoot at it with a shotgun and it won't matter that ball is going to be straight as an arrow.

Man I tell you, I just started bowling again a few weeks ago because I'm trying to get my body ready for a tour I'm going on. After about a year of sitting on the beach and doing nothing but smoking weed and watching boats go by, I was laid out and ready for a nap after one game. Luckily though it comes back quickly if you keep at it.  ;D

I remember the old 5-pin bowl of '89.  Twelve of us went in.  Only five came back.  Still have the scars and haven't been able to hold down permanent work since.  The girls dig the bowling stories though :D.

Just thought I'd point out something. That new producer said that he did the Forum, and he seemed pretty pleased about that. He wanted to share. .... I went to one of her "graduations" that they hold at the end of The Forum, and I was quite turned off by what I experienced. It turned out that my presence there was not as a supportive friend, it was as a potential new member to be given a very manipulative hard sell to sign up....

Interesting detail there.  I had exactly the same experience you did many years ago, with a bait-and-switch 'graduation ceremony' for a friend, wherein I arrived instead to find a high-pressure self-help sales seminar.  Very uncomfortable experience and imho questionable sales tactics.

To me anyone who'd promote them on-air would be not-a-fave, even if they were up on the latest journalistic trends and luminaries from a half-century ago.
