The Other Side of Midnight - Richard C. Hoagland - Live Chat Thread

Hoagland is a diva. Considering the fantasy world he lives in, I think it's safe to assume he sees himself as some sort of celebrity superstar of the radio world. I'd be willing to bet he thinks he's better than Art. He really is delusional.

I think many people in the "biz" are divas, coaster...., including Art Bell.....nothing that unusual IMHO, however they make great radio.

Some of us actually thought OSOM was better the last couple of weeks than MITD...go figure.....  ;)

Nicely written expat!!

OK....maybe all of you know, however I don't so I am going to ask the question.

Who is this ayala who wrote the post which allegedly spilled the real beans on what happened? Can someone tell me why we should believe what she wrote?....just asking....and not saying that I don't....
I know Dave and Jess.  Ayala?  Not so much.  It could be an evil one with a dreaded cellphone or a friend of Dave, for all I know.  I'm waiting for BG to be filled with wall-to-wall "RCH Sucks!" posts.  "So it is written on BG, so it must be!"

Hmmm.  In my mind I can see how that went.

Richard, in a crazed falsetto:  "I'm the talent!  I'm the talent.  'I'm smart!  I can do things!'  Robin says so."

Saucy: "Richard, just remember.  The meds are in the blue bowl.  The M&M's are in the pink bowl."

Richard:  "Not any more.  Robin changed them.  So there.  And you're not the boss of me!  Neither was Cronkite and look what it got him!  He's dead.  And I'm not!"

Saucy:  *sigh*

the Hoagland line made me think of this

While that may very well be.  The SauceMan reminds me of the Knapster, both gentlemen warriors in their fields.

He was certainly committed fully to the job in a way that does him great credit and shames Hoagie's behavior.

I sense an awkward conversation coming to a crappy hotel convention hall near YOU!!

Hoagie:  "oh... Jorch!! Ya know I was just thinking of the good ol days ya know?? You and I on Coast... remember?"

Jorch:  "how are yewww??? You were such a "mean baby" a few mumpfs ago on Coasht!!  There are no coinshidenshes Richard!! have a pizza roll."

Cuz talent is rare, its possession grants a certain moral leeway, and human nature dictates that most people will push boundaries as far as they can get away with.  Don't really believe in heroes and villains any more; that stuff's for kids.  Mostly it's just people doing what they do.

People have indulged Hoagie all his life because of his charm.  Once that's gone, though, the good will vanishes like smoke.

Just thought I'd point out something. That new producer said that he did the Forum, and he seemed pretty pleased about that. He wanted to share. First, a lot of good people go to the Forum, so I wouldn't automatically write someone off on account of it, but I would proceed with caution. Two, if you are not familiar, look up Landmark Education. They operate the Forum.  Using the search terms "landmark education" and cult will yield some interesting results. My own experience is that a coworker years ago had her life completely taken over by Landmark. I went to one of her "graduations" that they hold at the end of The Forum, and I was quite turned off by what I experienced. It turned out that my presence there was not as a supportive friend, it was as a potential new member to be given a very manipulative hard sell to sign up. Other members hammered me to find a weakness that they could exploit. I stood my ground and refused to allow them into my life, and when they eventually realized they couldn't get to me I was treated with sarcasm. I hope the new guy won't be selling listeners on the Forum.

Haha don't encourage me or I'll start my own podcast, promptly abuse my producer, and crash and burn.

Thanks. Wow. I wonder why he didn't get a job at C2C since they are all about those "self-help" and psychic cults (ok, ok, groups.) Silva Mind Control, Blavatsky, Cayce, etc etc. Reading up on est and the Founder the history it seems the almost usual, for the times, of a mix of various ideas; new-agey, Eastern, charismatic Christian (or "Jesus Freak",) Theosophy and mixed with psychological ideas of belief (self belief and actualization) or even manipulation of others (to benefit the group maybe), neuro-linquistic programming, etc. It would seem, in keeping with the times, this has turned more into a "make yourself rich and successful by using this methods" group? And apparently also some mlm schemes involved in the modern system?

So let me get this straight....you and those who have responded to my question don't really know who this "ayala" is who posted the allegedly true scoop on the producer-ship of OSOM.

Yet some people here are taking this post by a seeming unknown poster as 100% fact, raging and ranting at RCH, jumping into some abyss and cancelling their 19.5's?....seriously?!?!?

My post is not at all directed at you ItsOver. Dave as in Nooron? Jess?? Did I miss something?...must have <dunno>

i asked what you did after Ayala posted..but here are the facts we know

Ross did not confirm or deny
in such a short time RCH had a new .."Executive" producer
said producer did an entire show with Richard and even chimed in again last night, Ross had never been heard
the shows as of late have been more in tune with crazy RCH instead of Cavett RCH
Ross has been a gentlemen in his departure of the show..RCH barely even acknowledged he had a previous producer

After way too much thought about this I have come to 3 conclusions.  First, Saucy Rossy is a classy dude.  He did not come here and confirm or deny any allegations, he just asked us all to act remain as calm.  Second, I am canceling my Club 19.5 membership.  Richard got $10 from me.  That is enough.  He won't starve, he will just find a way to get that money from someone else.  Third and probably most importantly,  I need to get a life so I don't waste so much time worrying about crap like this.  ;) :P
whoo...hooo right hand corner *fist bump*

I haven't listened to Monday's show yet from the archives, however I have read all the posts.

What I did after ayala posted??

PM Ross.

He asked that we leave it alone bateman. I really can't disrespect his wishes and PM him after he has asked this.

Having said that, I am not going to add any more fuel to whatever this is. My main point was why should be believe this ayala, whoever he/she is.

Ross made his statement and maybe we should just respect that and move on. If at any time he wants the real truth to be told, whatever that may be, he should be the one to tell it IMO.

coaster

Ayala was accurate.  I won't say how I know, but it's true.

The thing I feel the most upset about is just the feeling I was taken in by this con man creep. I think we all wanted Bella-Haven to succeed because we hated this creep yet when there wasn't an alternative and with Rossy working hard to build a fan base here, somehow we all got taken in.

I blame the opening. I have a passionate dislike of Dick but that opening for the show is so awesome that I would stay for it... then I would stay for Dick's 15 minutes of loony rambling at the top... before I knew it I was sucked in on the thread and zoning out on Dick, this thread and XBOX.

No more, never listening to this piece of trash again or giving him ratings in anything. I used to skip over him in the classic era because I couldn't stand him and now I've doubled down.

Thankfully I never subscribed but I was thinking about it to support this show. Now I want this fucker gone and someone who isn't a con-man lunatic brought in to fill that role. I also give it eight weeks before Hoagland completely self destructs. Well... seven weeks and six days now. Tick tick tick Dick.

i realized i never quite..answered as to why the venom to RCH and the unsub...well first and foremost Ross is one of us ..so its a show of solidarity

most, and i agree..that the show will just be a forum for RCH's madness and crazy theories..more so then what was already on the show..Ross seemed to temper it for the most part with interesting subjects outside of Dick's comfort zone and made him be a better interviewer...i do not think new executive producer will go that route

Yeah, it's that silence that makes me assume the worst. Much like the deafening corporate silence when Art left C2C. These people shoot themselves in the foot by not just meeting the problem head on.

Do you think it's a sign Dick has never been on Art's show to promote his own. Seems like that would be a forgone conclusion. I said originally it was a terrible idea to bring this creep in and now I'm wondering how and why this happened. Especially since it's a huge benefit to Dave to take this lunatic con-man away from C2C.

Do you really think most of us here would get angry just on one random persons post, i will add this tho, fuck RCH

trostol

i think it would be hilarious if Ross started to do a podcast that eventually..due to dwindling numbers for RCH ...took over his slot lol
