Nope.  No one cares about that one except for those like me.  It's a tragedy.  Politicians will hem and haw and say they observe it but the fed gets around it by only granting funds to states that follow its edicts.

Not from what I've seen recently. But the checks and balances aren't actually checking, or balancing anymore.
There's lots of info out there about how the federal government usurps power. One of the most nefarious is through the use of a zip code.

He really doesn't strike me as a complex enough person for this to be some sort of long con. No, I think he really believes what's he's talking about. Either that or he feels that he's groping and stumbling his way toward some sort of literary/scientific understanding of the mysteries of the universe that justifies any errors along the way to that greater truth.

Yep I agree that Hoagie believes his own ideas.  I think his whole identity is so wrapped up in it that he couldn't disbelieve it even if given incontrovertible evidence.

Luckily, when they are wrong, they usually acknowledge it and undo it later on. The wonderful thing about our system is that it's become flexible enough to adapt and progress as our society progresses. It's why it's good we aren't always stuck in a 1770s system that can't change with the times. I mean 3/5th of a person?
