Does anyone else remember a show Hoagie did around the time the film Mission to Mars came out and Art had him on with various guests for the entirety of the evening and he kept popping off about how the film was filled with coded messages, much like Kubrick's work in the Shining being a nod to the faked moon landings?

EDIT: Found it. 2000-03-14. A classic evening.

I'll have to go back and listen to that one.  He kinda did the same thing later with John Carter (on some Noory show).

I listened to it 2-3 months ago and it starts slow but once Richard starts talking to a journalist from the Canadian National Post it goes into full-blown classic crazy analysis and keeps it going from there on out.

Those look suspiciously like Taco Bell.  I can tell since the cheese is for decoration only.

You're right.  I've just gotta do it before they get into it.

Ha yes that's pretty much how I remember it.  Almost like he thought it was a documentary.

That's exactly what it felt like. Like he was looking at scenes and interpreting characters' moves and their intentions as if it paralleled a real life narrative.

That being said, however, I feel like he as a host forces him into a position where he plays the (relative) straight man to a lot of the people he talks to, and his enthusiasm is contagious.

I gotta give props to Rossy for his idea of booking someone once a week in the entertainment realm. I find myself enjoying those episodes the most; the Dean Haglund and Tim Russ episodes are particular favourites.

I'd wanna suggest trying to get Jerry O'Connell on, if only to talk about Sliders, or more importantly... My Secret Identity.

Oh yes, this makes sense so far. Let's say it's just like the Dallas/Fort Worth nights at light picture, but it's also a collapsed ruin with no electricity.
