LOL i haven't had a misfits poster on my walls in decades. i have a few vintage toys laying around but mostly it's minimalistic and simple/tidy. i like clean walls, i hate clutter. in my bedroom i have a unique picture of darth vader's helmet on my wall, and a shrunken skull or two here and there which i made from scratch. that is it.

i have recently come out of a long term live-in relationship that was on the verge of going to the next level. i have been married before but this one ruined me when it ended. i am usually sober but still want to be dead. i am able to have flings and mini relationships with others but i am not really into investing into that kind of bullshit at this point in life. recently i was involved with a russian girl with a 2 year old kid. we were apples and oranges. i'm not sure where i will be in a year. probably at some divebar at 3am watching punk bands work for a living, playing for beer. i might be okay with it.
dude you are lucky not to be with a Russian girl. I did a few a few years ago. They were smoking hot but dang they are the meanest mist evil creatures on earth

The Shawshank Redemption.  Great short story.  Give Salem's Lot a try.  I think it is still my favorite book of his though The Stand is very close.

The Stand. Kill the 99% of the world in 50 pages. Do character development for 800 pages. Say "oh shit, I have to finish the book. Finish the book in 30 Pages.

At the end of the third Dark Tower book, which ends on a huge cliffhanger, he basically added an apology that he didn't know how to finish it but he'd make up for it on the next book ... which didn't publish till like seven years later.

Maybe that's the real reason the Russians get a bad rap: Their women are too hot and manipulative. Nasty combo!  :o

Yes. That pissed me off. I didn't know that he finished it until one of the podcasts with Eddie Dean.

I wasn't counting TV movies but I heard that was good too.

i like the stand 4 part miniseries. overall i think it is worthy, a TV budget in 1993 couldn't have been that great but i think they did ok with it. art bell also is a fan but he emphasizes that he enjoys part 1 of 4 best. i kind of agree with him.

Good point though it did not bother me at the time I read it.  The Shining sequel, Dr. Sleep, was a really good read and I thought it would end with this epic battle between good and evil.  Instead, the climax took just about a page and the villain was dispatched with ease.  Let down would be on an understatement. That's the thing about King.  His climaxes are usually disappointing or so his wife, Tabitha, tells me.  :P

The hand of God scene in Vegas was about as close to what I had imagined in the book as any scene in the movies.

They should get Hugh Jackman to play Roland.  The character reminds me of The Man With No Name and Hugh looks a lot like Clint.

only know of one person they have cast so far ..Idris Elba..oh wait he is playing the Gunslinger lol

ok +5 points to Hoagie for knowing about the Ainu in Japan.  His breadth of knowledge sometimes impresses me, in spite of, well ya know.

Roland is white in the books. He looks like the Man With No Name.  I get so fucking tired of this multicultural crap. I love Idris Elba too but it is not the right role for him though he will be good at capturing the traits of the character, I think.  A few years ago,  someone broached the idea that Idris Elba should be the new Bond.  That went over like a lead balloon as should have this idea.

This is the absolute worst show hoagland has ever done
