I would like to ask a favor of each and everyone of you. Yesterday Airyn told me that Art is still very much in pain with his back. I would like to ask all of you, if you're a praying person, please pray for a miracle, or if you believe in sending love and light, and healing vibes, please send them Art's way. Let's all get together and do this for him, that's the least we can do for a man that we hold in such high regard.

I guess, but he always complains about his back. in fact when he called the spec sheet he sort of seemed relieved when he brought up his back. he said something like well i could barely walk back to the house anyways after the show.

Unless he has surgery which he has always refused to do, I dont think it will get better enough to do a show with any consistency.

Really??? July 2015 is a long way off. Health issues flare up. Art will get through this. Maybe he will seek medical attention. Maybe not.

Don't worry Art Bell fans. Art will return. Maybe he'll do four nights a week. Maybe one night a week. Either way the majority of fans will be thrilled. He'll build up a collection of shows and if and when he is ill we'll get a rerun. No problem.

Art loves radio. He's a Ham operator. Radio is his passion and hobby. Now that he will be his own boss and in control of his show I don't see a problem with his return.

I recall he said it was the result of having to jump off a telephone pole in his youth and impacting the ground.  I'm not sure what the particular condition is though.

At aged 18 I developed severe back ache. I suffered with it for another year until I saw a GP. I was referred to an orthopaedic surgeon, who after x rays told me I had two options. One; surgery. But no gaurantee it would cure me and could result me being in wheelchair; or physiotherapy. He recommended the latter. I have a slight scoliosis of the spine, not noticable but enough to cause unbelievable pain (and on two occasions spasm enough to hospitalise me). I have (now) mainly good days and weeks and sometimes horrendously bad ones. Not every skeletal/ muscular problem is the same as another, so to say "I had this so you/he should have nothing to complain about" is nonesense. I can empathise with anyone with generic 'back ache', as I know from experience how bloody misserable it can be.

If I were on Facebook I would suggest Turmeric to him.  Seems like it is a wonder drug... Er, wonder supplement.

In all honestly, I hope he finds a way to feel good (more for the sake of his daughter and family than for us...)

Art has suffered back issues for 10+ years. This is nothing new.

I don't think he owes us much. He fell when he was young and hurt his back. What else is there to share?

Would be nice to hear from Art occasionally. Once every other month would be nice. It would stop all this wondering what's going to happen. But who knows This might be what Art wants, everyone theorizing what's going to happen. He might even be finding humor in it.

I am with a few of you.

1. Art Bell's back issues will not stop the show. It's more about whether he wants to dedicate the time to put out some content or not.

2. I also had a back problem in 2004. I haven't been perfect since, but I went to work 4 days later and was feeling really good after 6mo. No surgery required. Painful, but in this day and age there are a lot of options.

We're talking about a man who had no shyness about conveying deep personal secrets about himself and his family on national radio. I know how miserable back trouble; spent years with it. Lacking even a name for the spinal malady that would explain his decade of suffering, I tend to think it's a convenient dodge for his increasingly quixotic work habits.

After reading all the opinions of whether AB is coming back or not is quite a lot to consider.
I'm thinking if it's just not in Art's heart any longer & if he does not enjoy it anymore, then why doesn't he just say it. Instead of all these maybes, & the whole NC clause quim qwam, I mean just say NO I'm not never coming back, notta, it's done, never again, adios..
But.  lol  let's just say maybe he does want to come back, but doesn't want to deal with all the work that is required to do the show. Specially the day before show. Research, guest line up.  I really don't know what it takes as far as the work that is needed before each show, but imagine it is quite a lot. Specially making sure his fax machine is up & running, ink & paper.  lol
I wonder if he could still have a quality Art Bell show, but have a support group that did most of the work for him.  I know he always had a support group of great people that did their jobs quit well, that made the show what it was, it took more than just a great voice & good questions.
But I'm talking about a support group that did that job, but now even more.
You guys following what I mean?
