The GOP knows who won the VP debate before it happens. Whoops.

But hey that's better than Trump!  ::) That is what Pi and others who tilt left would have us believe.   I have a hard time buying into their argument.

I tilt middle -- and it's getting to be even harder to do than it used to be. Especially since the playing field keeps moving around like a hula dancer.

That is why I used the term tilt.  You may be in the middle but you are tilting left in this election.

Ditto! It's a lie spread by the DNC to prevent people from learning the ugly truth. Assange said as much last night.

Left of Trump? I don't even see where left and right are the correct parameters for this election.

The weekend of Kennedy’s assassination, Allen Dulles is not at home watching television like the rest of America. He’s at a remote CIA facility, two years after being pushed out of the agency by Kennedy, called The Farm, in northern Virginia, that he used when he was director of the CIA as a kind of an alternate command post. Well, he’s there while Kennedy is killed, after Kennedy is killed, when Jack Ruby then kills Lee Harvey Oswald. That whole fateful weekend, he’s hunkered down in a CIA command post.

I don't think it's very likely for either Dulles to have been in Dallas that day, and I don't think the technology of the day was sufficient to do it remotely.

But I suppose you're correct enough in that "co-ordinate" and "run" are synonyms. Still, you're being deliberately obtuse, and it's adorable.

I assumed by 'who ran the Op' that you were actually referring to me looking up your past comments here, and that you were saying that somebody had to do it for me.

My comment was a joke reply in that the Dulles brothers did stuff like that so they were the ones who did that for me.

I think the person in charge was Richard Helms as he was positioned in the CIA to do that.  Whether he ran the on the ground operations on the day of the assassination and the days leading up to it or delegated it to some other trusted person at the CIA, I have no way of knowing.

That may be true but you seem to be buying into the left's talking points.  You're not alone though.  Hell, even Fight the Future is doing the same thing and he is undoubtedly further right than I am.

The leftist in this election was Sanders. He is old-school left and I disagree with his positions on most issues. So I don't know what left-wing talking points you're talking about.

Ah, never mind.  I'm half talking out of my ass with that comment.  I just wish you were as critical of Hillary as you are of Trump.  I try to find something negative to say about both every few days.  Granted I level my criticism at Hillary more often than I do at Trump because the last person I want to be President is Hillary.

Sometimes you have to use talking points to counter talking points.  lol

There is no where near as much to be critical about Hillary as there is about Trump.

There is all sorts of nasty stuff about both people and I'd rather not compare notes right now. Steve Quayle is on Coast now and I've got to really focus on what he is saying or I might miss something.  He goes from one subject to another faster than you can flick your bic.

Well, that's what it is. We're each going to be more critical of whichever one we think is the bigger threat. There's no way I'm going to write posts or cast my vote like a drunken gambler, which you almost have to be to support Trump.

After the inauguration, I'll be happy to criticize Madame President more often.

Again, lack of a level-head. There's enough to question about Hillary's actions regarding Libya alone to beat all "accusations" against Trump, a large portion of which are just invectives. Realize, a large section of that country is now controlled by ISIS-affiliated terrorists and people died. Not screwed over by unpaid marble cutting bills for unsatisfactory work. DIED. DEAD. Bodies, including that of a U.S. Ambassador.

Daesh barely has any presence in Libya anymore. Seriously, if you want to talk about Libya you should actually know what is going on in that country.

If I remember correctly it was not ISIS (Daesh) that was heavily involved in the revolution but the Muslim Brotherhood.  I don't know what the situation is in Libya regarding the Muslim Brotherhood right now.

Pretty much. Daesh tried to jump in, when they were at their strongest, but were pretty much rejected by the local Islamist groups and other local forces for the most part. They have like pockets in Sirte and Benghazi but I think those are the only two places.

Trump has never held a similar position, so obviously he can't be similarly judged.  Anybody with a real level head would realize that instantly. You are a classic example of the Dunning-Kruger effect and you just bore me now.  I don't plan to engage in any more discussions with you.

Having the benefit of hindsight, what would you as Sec of State have advised Obama to do during Gaddafi's Benghazi siege? Let him slaughter the city as he was preparing to do or intervene? Lots of bodies either way, except non-intervention would have been much like Rwanda. You make it sound like she started the Libyan civil war.

Yes, we know what actually happened, but it's impossible to know what would have happened if a different decision had been made.  In economics this is a form of the asymmetrical information problem.

We have a pretty good idea of the immediate consequences of not intervening and we know what the choices were. I'm asking whether he thinks she and Obama had a better choice that they didn't make.

I don't care what he thinks anymore. He isn't worth my time, and I don't think he's worth the time of anybody here.

Okay, but think of the 11 guests now reading this thread. One of them might just accept what he says without thinking too much about it. That's how Trump gets his supporters.

The path of least death is always the best option when dealing with religiously-colored Middle Eastern politics, so I would have cozied up to Gaddafi who had been moderating his politics for some time. It would have been better than destabilization.
