Will it bring back big mustaches and little shorts?

I wish they would bring back little shorts.  I hate cargo shorts.  I always look for them each year and I'm always disappointed.

He looks more like Higgins these days.  ;)

Now they are bringing back Magnum PI.  What are the odds of that being any good?

https://www.yahoo.com/tv/magnum-p-sequel-daughter-works-171404228.html

If they recast Tom Selleck's role with Selma Hayek I wood tots watch it...  I uynd3stain'd Hollywould/does this sort of transfixin' nowadays to what end, Not Sure...

The writing team should call me, we could re-cast her War Vet'ran experience as an interpreter in the various Gulf Warz, female indie-gigitty-gigitty (indigenous) types were recruited for that.  My Basic Training Company had one (she was not gigitty-gigitty, reality is so not Hollywood...) soldier in training for just this.

Could go all sorts of fictionalized reality to way bazaar;  what better place to get out of the military and get a sex change than Hawaii?  Man-love Thursday was a local custom in the place I was at.  I could make some stuff up to fit any direction they go with a Magnum P.I. remake/revisit/reimage...  Or just go, sexy semi-fiction with real sexy-time lady who happens to have a unique set of skillz, and some fellow Vet'ran war buddies (even a British housekeeper, that was a double-agent or whatever, sexy lady type again...)

Muahah.

For real though, I just stopped by to mention that I watched the following last night: "The Witch: A New England Folk-tale" followed by "Icebound: The Final Voyage of the Karluk" last night.

"The Witch" was creepy and riveting, saw where it was heading right off, but enjoyed how they got there.  That will be the extent of my spoilers for that one.

"Icebound" I already knew how it ended mostly and used it mainly for soporific purposes, especially after I saw (I think) that it was produced by a seemingly RT (modern Pravda) company, it was okay but taken with a lager and large grain of salt due to reasons...

I'd watch either again, btw.

Prosit!

ediot:  Forsooth: "last night, .. last night."  Higgins would be appalled, Magnum, simply appalled...

@Pete, I love a good horror, Witch is on my watch list.

I recently watched Hell or High Water in the cinema. I enjoyed it, a couple of brother robbing banks and the awesome Jeff Bridges playing a crusty Texas Ranger.

Just came from Magnificent 7. It was pretty good.

Just saw it at the funky historic Bijou theater on the Oregon Coast, and loved it.

I like the rogerebert.com line, that Bridges plays "...an avuncular lawman on the verge of retirement who comes across like a combination of Columbo and Deputy Dawg".

I liked it a lot.  I really like Chris Pratt.  I couldn't understand what the hell D'onofrio was saying half the time.  I don't know if he was doing a Slim Pickens impression or what.  I'm glad that they used a totally different setting and villain rather than redoing the original.  I give it 4 stars.

I highly recommend The Witch.  My favorite horror movie from the last year.

It Follows (2014)

Interesting horror.  While your brain is busy attempting to establish what time period in which the story is occurring - "It" keeps advancing.

My favorite Brian McConnachie/Max von Sydow movie, Strange Brew, on TCM of all places. Take off, eh!

Speaking of odd movies on TCM, I caught Gumball Rally (1976) last nite.  Always loved that flick, something about the just-for-kicks spirit of it.

I saw it last year and enjoyed it enough, I'd watch it again.

Speaking of TCM, nothing on it last night I was interested in so I watched "High Plains Drifter."  One of Clint's best.  A great western for this time of the year.

Reddit has been talking about cargo shorts all day long.

You going to explain why?

Not right now because I can't remember.  It has been over a year since I saw it and my wife was the one who found out from info on the internet that much of it was made up or downright lies.  I just remember from discussing it with her at the time.  Google it for yourself.  If you can't find anything then get back with me and I'll do the heavy lifting.  Not tonight though because I'm getting ready to see Star Trek Beyond at the dollar show.

That was a good flick.  Got it cheap at Best Buy when they had a sale.

Watched "The Limey" the other day.  I thought it was decent.

I recommend it to any Anglish types planning voyages to California, might be inspirational.

I didn't know about this. I'll have to have a look but I just inherently have come to expect that J.J. Abrams will ruin whatever classic he gets his hands on. The original may be a bit cheesy by today's standards but is still a classic.

if you like that than maybe you would like Angie Tribeca also.its pretty good

The X-Files, Season 3

The season finale - episode 3X24, Talitha Cumi - featured special guest star Roy Thinnes (The Invaders.)  His performance was outstanding.  (He's always been good, but his abilities/presence significantly matured/improved by the time The X-Files rolled around and General Hospital and Code Name: Diamond Head were far, far in his rear view mirror.)  The episode is a two parter, with part two being the first episode in Season 4.  I'm looking forward to seeing his character again when I resume the binge.
