Who would play Art Bell?  How about Gerard Butler from the Phantom of the Opera

I'm thinking we call the song "What is it this Time?" with Art singing the I Quit part and the chorus asks him "What is it This Time?"

Gerard Butler was in a pro-Christian film that I saw called Machine Gun Preacher.  He played this preacher, Sam Childers, who used to be a rather rough character in his youth.  Now he serves as a missionary to African natives.  This film is about that.  I saw Childers speak to the church that my wife and I attend and he was fantastic.  He's a biker type but wonderful.  You can read about the film here.  I think Butler pretty much nailed Childers.  Good film and recommended.  Our church is a small affair but filled with very devout, humble Christians.  It appeals to my good side but I haven't been going lately for whatever reason. Mostly my sleep habits suck but I also haven't been in the mood.  I go through my ups and downs in the faith.  Seems to be cyclical.

Thanks, I think.  lol.  I definitely have a duality of nature.  I have my rather lascivious side and then I have my good side.  Yeah, I'm more than a bit complex.   My naughty side stays under the surface for the most part when I'm socializing but I tend to let it out at times on the board and in the privacy of my own home.  My wife wouldn't want me any other way.  She's definitely the stronger of us spiritually but she likes me to stay not quite so good.  What was that line in One of these Nights?  "I've been searching for the daughter of the devil himself. I've been searching for an angel in white. I've been waiting for a woman who's a little
of both ....."  That's me if you change the gender.  I guess it is most of us.

This evening I watched 'The Danish Girl'. The story was interesting and the film was good but, as a whole, it was that it was a visually beautiful film that made it well worth watching. Gorgeous from beginning to end. The art work was quite good too... and I'm picky about that.

holy crap...not even through the first episode of Stranger Things and this show is amazing

A friend of mine went on and on about Stranger Things, so I watched the first four episodes. It's a good show but those kids are annoying. A lot of hype surrounding the "eleven" girl and her amazing acting talent which I don't really understand. It doesn't take that much talent to stare dead-eyed and mumble the word "no". Ryder overacts in every scene. But it does feel like a drawn out episode of the xfiles which I enjoyed. My favorite character is the sheriff so far. Perhaps I only like him because he stands out from the other cast. The soundtrack is nice, and the intro is pretty cool.

I watched Batman vs Superman on DVD. It is way long as the movie went for 3-hours. I know it had bad reviews, but I didn't think it was that bad, but could easily be cut by half an hour and not something I feel like I need to watching again any time soon.

Watching I, Claudius for the 2nd time.  Sian Phillips really shines as Livia. She makes Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty look like Glenda the Good Witch.  The rest of the cast aren't slouches either.

Also watched Vivre by Godard,  The Seduction of Inga, The Amazing Dr. Clitterhouse  with Edward G' Robinson, Claire Trevor and Bogey as well as Invisible Stripes with George Raft, Bogey and Willliam Holden.

I saw Criminal the other day on dvd. It was pretty good. Kevin Costner did a heck of a job playing a sort of anti hero. What was weird is that Ryan Rynolds had a significant role in the movie but went uncredited.

I adore Patrick Stewart, that guy just has this charm that makes him great.

I just watched the horror movie "Lights out" in theatre. It's been out for 6-weeks but still a decent showing in the cinema I went to. I enjoyed it. I found myself rooting for the lead (which is always a good sign in these types of movies lol) I don't think it was groundbreaking or anything, but it was a fun night of chills here and there. I enjoy these types of movies.

My parents want to go see the new Ben-Her and wanting me to go with them next week, I had no interest in seeing a remake when I heard it was coming out. The reviews and box office have been horrible and no one I know has gone and seen it. I guess this is payback for all the kids movies I begged them to take me when I was younger It must be doing really poorly, as next week I looked at the schedule and the cinemas that are playing it are cutting a bunch of showing. I can't find a matinee anywhere, and it's only week 3.

No movie to report but I was reading some more about the late, great Alan Rickman.  I knew he had passed away due to pancreatic cancer but it was tragically, maybe mercifully, quick.  Diagnosed in August of last year, after a stroke, then went on about his business, with few knowing of his condition, and passing away in January of this year.  Such a loss.
