That looks like a clip from the never seen Merrill Osmond Christmas special. You must work for a studio.

Who has the right to merge my account with someone else?  Or WTF happened?   I love my knuckleball bro but I sure the heck don't want to share accounts with him.  If he broke the rules, so be it.

I was hoping G would be able to stick around for a few posts, it was pretty funny.

I hoped so too.  Sure, slightly off beat, but I have known "G" all my life (obviously) and he would have been a blast.  He's pretty much a hermit though due to his job although he's a heavy Art Bell fan.  I think this was his safe way to have fun yet remain anonymous.

That being said... I have never heard or known accounts to merge on forums.  Even if his account was deleted due to the silliness, his barely new posts should not have been mixed with mine.  But he should have got a warning first via PM or something, or a chance to explain why we are sharing IPs the next few weeks.  Since there is an unknown (to you all) factor which makes our family concerned for our privacy, forum "glitches" on that level are just too risky.  I don't care if admins have access to our email address, but what if a glitch merged me with other users here, or account info swapped in the settings viewable by someone else, or some other unforeseen situation.  Although obviously not as bad on a forum, it's like two people's email accounts accidentialy getting merged.  That's sort of a glitch that makes you have to back away a bit from the service.

I'm disappointed my bro was deleted but it's no biggy.  But with a glitch on my account I just can't take any chances with another unexpected technical surprise.  So I must exit now and return only as yet another lurker.

I had fun here while it lasted.  Picking at George, trying to keep at par with the cunning humor here, interacting with others who are like-minded in many regards, missing Art Bell.

Lessons learned:

- Never assume, without knowing all the facts.

- Frustration always needs to be self monitored, so it doesn't cross over into bullying.

- Even if we experience personal loneliness due to George frustrations, a forum like this unites people together.

- There is so much remarkable humor and insight here, it's a great reminder of the creativity and potential of humans.

- Pretending to be God never seems to be successful anywhere in the world.  lol

- And learning to love George Noory is one of the great human challenges in modern history.

BYE YA!

there was no glitch.  your account was merged, deliberately, because every indication was you'd created a second account for yourself (which isn't allowed).  it had nothing to do with "silliness" or anything of the sort.  it is a manual process and there isn't one thing automated about it.

when an account is created from an ip address that's in use by another account... well... it's pretty easy to see how conclusions might be reached.

I'm new to the site and I am intimated to post anything. You guys are the funniest people on the internet. I especially enjoy the posts of EM Vee, Eddie Coyle, and the General. You all rock and must belong to the Mensa Club. Shamrock

Juan

I used to belong to Mensa, but quit when I realized no woman smart enough to be in Mensa was stupid enough to have anything to do with me.

shamrock

I just added you to my favorites list UFO Fil. Your comment is brilliant, simply brilliant. Shamrock

I got lazy.

Em Vee, if your posts have sucked for the last few years I'd be blown away by those old posts  :D  hello all, I am so glad I found your site, I did a google search "where is Art Bell?" and well, after much frustration here I am... but I am afeared, because you are all so smart and witty and I am, well, not so.  I was a big fan of Art Bell, and miss him so much, Noory just doesn't do it for me.  I tried to listen last night, he had 2 guests and it was so rushed, I miss how Art took the time to really let us get to know his guests. I am rambling as usual, now that I have introduced my scatterbrained self I will go see what else you have to offer here.  Looking forward to many lively discussions!

i agree.  belly up and rock some shit.

Stumbled onto this after finding the Fine Art audio.  It's nice to see that I'm not the only one displeased with the direction that Coast to Coast took after Noory slithered onto the throne.

Thanks for having me.

we're glad you're here, and it's nice to know people are finding the forum through the stream.  very cool.  thanks for that, linden.

Hello, all!

I'm another one who has been encouraged to sign up after listening to the Fine Art stream and realizing all over again just how damn' good the man was. Even a sub-par show with some benighted doom-monger was worth listening to, and I don't think I have ever heard another broadcaster with the skill to be able to fashion something approaching a silk purse out of the monumental sow's ear known as Ed Dames, or Gordon Michael Scallion, or....[insert name of your chosen fatuous Catastrophist here].

I long since stopped listening to the current incarnation of Coast, with the occasional exception of Knapp, and I can't say I have felt deprived by the absence of Noory in my life. Did he really once confuse the Gaza Strip with the Giza Plateau, or was that just a horrible nightmare? I used to be able to reel off numerous instances of lovable old George having said something more than usually cretinous, but I think I have facepalmed so many times that I must have sustained a minor brain injury and can't recall them any more.

I don't know what to think about the (admittedly unlikely) possibility of Art returning one day. Listen to a show from 1998, say, and 2008 and - aside from the extra tar that is audibly clinging to his lungs  - he seems much less engaged in the later shows, as though a passion has turned into a job and he has better things to do with his life. That, and the fact that radio hosts seem  to get about 10 years when they are really at their peak, and Art has had those, and anything more might make him look like one of those fat old boxers who never knew when to give it up. He'd never again be able to generate the same excitement that he managed to find in the early years, when he could almost convince you that something amazing was around the corner. The odd thing is that, even when you listen back to 15 year old recordings, some of that feeling still manages to rub off on you .

Anyway, I have said enough. Best wishes to you all.  ;)

Sardondi

Heh. It's uncanny, but your post is almost identical to scores here. You'll find many perfectly simpatico members here.

Hey all! Was introduced to Coast-to-Coast by my American husband (we are in Canada). We listen to it regularly - but generally the older, Art shows. Not so fond of George...
Found this board through Wikipedia, of all bloody things. I was looking up Art Bell and there you were in the footnotes.
I like what I see so far :D

I have listened to Art since the early 90's.  Always loved his shows, his attitude, his intelligence.

I found this place after the Fine Art stream started, with a Google search.  I never knew this place was here, but is great for a AM radio junkie from way back.

a big hello to all the new people.  there are so many of you it's hard to keep up.  please post often.

Hello, I'm new here. I have a question, would anyone know how to obtain the old Art Bell Interviews with Malachi Martin?
I mean the ones from cassette like we used to order from Premiere Radio Network..back in the 90's.
I have the newer CD's but they are edited down to 90 min.! ...vs. the original 3-4 hr. interviews they really were.
Anyway, if someone knows where I might find the Full Length interviews, give me a shout. Thanks.

yodaterrell

I hope I am posting in the right thread.

Hi all, my name is Terrell.  I am 20 years old.  I found out about Art Bell a couple of years ago while I was on youtube looking at Area 51 videos.  I had found a clip of someone calling in, claiming to be a employee from Area 51.  This man seemed very upset.  As he was talking the signal was temporarily shut down.  I think the clip was from 1997.  Whether it was a hoax or not, I don't know.  But it certainly got me thinking critically about what I thought I knew was true.  I was about 18 when I heard that clip.  Then, about a year ago I got a radio app.  I was browsing through all the different streams, when I found someone streaming classic Art Bell radio programs.  When I saw that, I remembered the clip I heard on youtube, and thought it would be interesting.  I have almost never stopped listening to the stream since I found it.  I have become an Art Bell fan.  His programs have really got me thinking.  I know Art Bell has covered a lot of topics on his show.  But my favorites were: extra-terrestials, and Area 51.  When somebody asks if I believe in ET's, I tell them I don't know.  Because I have seen and heard about it too much to just straight up deny their existence.  But I have not seen or heard enough to have full faith that they do exist.  As I have already mentioned, Art Bell has helped me think more deeply about what could possibly be true.  ET's are not the only thing that Mr. Bell's program has helped me ponder over, but it has been a big one.  I am currently in college.  I always have that Art Bell stream up when I am writing a paper.  I have it on when I go to bed.  Although, sometimes if there is a real interesting show on it is hard for me to go to sleep.  I find myself asking why aren't there more programs (not just on radio), like Art Bell?  But I guess thats what makes the programs so enjoyable, they are truly one of a kind.  Although I am considered a "newbie" to being an Art Bell fan, I feel like I have been listening for years.

ChewMouse

Welcome, Terrell!

That was a great intro and you've stumbled upon very kindred spirits. Glad you're here. Even though we gripe a lot about George Noory, there are many threads about UFOs and ETs, within which you'll find posts about Area 51.

Have fun!

ziznak

See Terrell, it's the younger listeners like you who would benefit most from an Art Bell comeback.  Art would have an all new following as well as his oldschool audience.

So Terrell, have you thought much about this George Noory guy?  Have you checked out the Coast to Coast Am show recently or at all without Art as host?
