Hello all! Now that Art Bell is back on, thought I would join the fun here!  :)

Welcome! Not to be rude or anything, but I would be extremely embarrassed to have that username if I were you. Art reads this site, he's a member here, and I think it's a little insensitive. We poke fun at the outlandish claims frequently made by guests and we also don't tend to hold back when slamming people like Noory. But I don't think that this is a good idea. Have you ever been married? Have you thought of what it would be like to go to sleep happy one night only to wake up and find that person suddenly dead the next morning?

I can't see why anyone would use this name unless they are exceedingly ignorant or just plain trying to be hurtful. I don't know which is worse. I originally wrote something harsh but I toned it down. Not sure what else to say.

Welcome, Ghost, and I have to agree with guildnavigator on this. Art Bell reads this site often and we don't spare him much, but his beloved Ramona is kind of off limits.

Probably you just weren't thinking when you chose the name. I am sure MV would allow you to change your username to something more fun and appropriate. Of course, one thing about this forum is that nobody will make you do anything, so if you keep the name, a great many of us will simply think you're cruel and/or tasteless.

Peace.

Yeah... glad you joined... uh, could you contact MV about changing your username?
I have to agree that it really kinda crosses a line there.  Believe it or not.

Hello.  I found this forum shortly after Art came back on by Googling "Art Bell chat" and it was on the first page.  The reason for doing so is much like reading news articles online where the comments section are usually pretty entertaining, the experience of listening to Art is greatly enhanced by following comments by others.  I've read a bunch of threads now and felt pretty good that the things I was intuitively feeling regardnig the show and C2C and some guests were all echoed here so this seems like a pretty good place to be.  The Strieber and two witches threads were gold.  I'd have participated more so far, but it would have just been a bunch of "Yes, I agree." statements.  Hope to participate more in the future.

Dang. Complete sentences. Appropriate capitalization and punctuation, not to mention coherent thoughts. Hey, you already test in the top 5 percentile.

I'm not a new member, but a resurrected old one. Only days ago I discovered that Art was back, and I'm pleased as a pig in a pile of poo. I just ate hot dogs, but in a moment I'm going to sip tea.

Hello all, I very rarely sign up for forums either. I needed a place with consistent Dark Matter live discussion and this appears to be where it is at! I started listening to Coast around 2003 so I missed a lot of Art's live shows. I quickly found myself taking in as many old shows as possible and became a huge fan. Short time lurker, long time loather of snooron. Like many (all?) of you I am ecstatic for Dark Matter coming into being and witnessing radio history. I hope to contribute some laughs & meet some fellow AB fans. Thanks for this site!

How-do.
I was an old C2C listener but gave up after Noory took over.  I thought Noory was half sleeping in the shows that I did listen to.  I also do not appreciate pandering to the right and to religious fundies.  It cheapens and downgrades productive discussion.

I went out and purchased a Sirius home radio when I heard that Art was coming back.

I thought Sirius was commercial free, and it appears that some of their programming is.  I suspect that Art is getting paid a hell of a lot to bring new material and listeners to Sirius and commercials.  At any rate, it is so good to hear these topics again, which I love, and presented by a real professional.  I don't think I appreciated Art all that much until Noory came about and then I saw the contrast.  Even with great topics I cannot listen to George.

I don't mind some political discussion so long as it's fair and the goal is truth and not to aggrandize one party over another.

Religious discussion, too, is not horrible so long as it is philosophic meaning the points of view of atheists and Eastern religions and Wiccans are also expressed.  So many people, when they mention God, are obviously only referring to the Christian concept or the Biblical concept.

And i hope art is making shitloads of cash
:)

I hope he's making oodles of money, too.  He's worth it.  I didn't appreciate him as much as I should have until Noory took over the other show.

Yo Yeti. Welcome to the zoo.

Greetings all,

Old c2c follower here as well. Also fell off the c2c wagon after awhile when Art left.

Already had a Sirius account, and after hearing the new show became hooked again immediately. ;D

Happy Halloween all.

Z.
