Jimmy Church

Oh, so THAT's why people are not fond of Jimmy.  Can someone explain what happened?

Mastodonkey

Basically nothing from what I've heard. Jimmy claimed he knew him or something but he didn't really or some nonsense.. Jimmy is alright in my book. Yeah he's probably a rat bastard or something but I don't mind listening to him

Then again, I don't follow the late night paranormal talk show hosts soap opera drama as so many do here. I just listen to who I like and don't listen to who I dislike based purely on hosting abilities and personal taste

CornyCrow

I guess talent is the most important judge.  There were many people who achieved greatness and were lousy people on a personal level.

Jimmy's guest doesn't seem to get that the Nativity Story is there because it explains how Jesus is a decendent of of David, fufulling Old Testament prophecy that the Messialh would be of the Line of David.

Most prophecy is essentially written after the fact. Oh, the prophet has to be left handed? Yeah the prophet was totally left handed, just no one ever saw it!

My favorite prophecy-esque story is during the first Punic War, when the Roman consul Pulcher couldn't get the sacred chickens to eat some grain he threw them overboard, needless to say the Roman fleet was wiped out that day.

I totally knew you were going to post that.

Jimmy Church is kind of a cocksucker

Kind of? I think you are too kind to say that!

Yeah.  I don't believe that stuff, but this guest really seems like a lightweight.  The following one was, as well.

Stranger929

Probably a good one, with all that practice and all.

There are at least 300 prophecies in the Old Testament, which predate Jesus by at least 400-plus years.

Yeah, but the books of the bible that we actually have are copies of copies and were written way after the originals were.  The originals have long since turned to dust.  Not only are there errors in copies, but those doing the copies are moved to 'clarify' passages at times.  We just don't know what is directly taken from the original text and what has been elaborated upon many times.

The Old Testament is the Hebrew Tanakh which was first gathered together in the 5th century BC long before Christ walked the Earth.

I normally eschew Jimmy C. but first hour tonite is one of the few guests that I can't resist tuning into regardless of host.

Writer and researcher Leo Lyon Zagami has been directly involved with secret societies associated with the New World Order. He joins Jimmy Church (email) to discuss what he knows about these powerful forces, and the guiding hands behind many world events. In the first hour, practicing attorney, Andrew D. Basiago, who claims he was part of DARPA’s Project Pegasus as a young child, and one of America's early time-space explorers, will discuss his campaign for the Presidency and what he thinks of the current line-up of candidates.

I think I remember Basiago telling Art that he saw him, when Art was very young, working for the government.

I know most of you hate Jimmy Church but I actually don't mind him. I'll occasionally tune into Fade to Black if he has an interesting guest and if I'm still up I'll listen to him when he does Coast on Fridays after Midnight in the Desert is over. He's usually doing open lines of his own by then which isn't that different from Midnight's open lines.

I like Jimmy, too.  They give him some really bad guests, though.

I really hate Jimmy and despise him. So my hatred will cancel out whatever admiration you have for him.

I don't normally hold public disdain for broadcasters, but he is a special breed of sewage. He is a total dick.

Nobody has been able to explain to me why they think he's a dick.  One person said he had claimed to know Art but did not.  Is that why you hate him?  I mean, there are usually good reasons, but people continue hating and forget the reasons - like the Hatfields and McCoys almost.

I don't know if we still have the actual books of the Old Testament that were gathered together in the 5th Century BC.  In some cases, they were written down at the time from oral and rabbinic tradition passed down through the centuries.  Maybe some of the original texts from the 5th century still exists but I sort of doubt it.

I am saying that the Old Testament is virtually the same as it was in the 5th Century BC.  Check out the Tanakh at a bookstore.  It is basically word for word the same as our Old Testament.  Sure maybe there is a slight discrepancy due to the translation but it is basically the same.  If there is anything the Hebrew rabbis are meticulous about, it is the integrity of their canon.  So I doubt that anything has been dropped or added since the 5th century.  If you have definitive proof that contradicts this, I'll gladly stand corrected but until then I'll stand by my statements.

No, but I know how the New Testament was slapped together, and that at least three of the first four books scholars say may very well have been copied from another book that is not included in the bible.  Maybe it's in the Vatican library.  This is important because people will point to them all agreeing as an excuse for the inerrancy of the bible and that's just bogus.

And maybe not. You believe what you choose to believe. I am not one of those that believe the Bible is inerrant.  It was written down and gathered together by people who undoubtedly were guided by the hand of God but they were only human and as such subject to human foibles. Sometimes you just have to go by faith that the message of God comes through amidst all of the mistakes.  I love the Gospels but have some problems with Paul and Revelation however I don't dismiss everything in those books.

The big issue was early on Jimmy was on the DM  network and would say he was sitting in for Art Bell and he claimed to hate Noory.  He even posted here at bellgab back then a lot and join in Noory bashing.
But a year ago or so he met Noory at an event and sold his soul to the devil Noory for a chance to guest host c2cam. Then he quickly left the DM network to buddy up with his new pal Noory.
Now he is guest hosting c2cam more and filling in for Noory who he now calls his good friend, and promotes Noory's ventures like paranormaldate a lot.
Big turncoat jumping ship from Art Bell to Noory...  :P

Working for a private company but on a government contract. Art verified it, sorta. Basiago also saw Obama on Mars. I might have to get over my distaste for Jimmy Church and his bumper music choices for this one.

See I first discovered Jimmy Church when someone on Reddit posted the YouTube video of the Area 51 caller calling Fade to Black. He was still on Dark Matter back then and just the way he was talking made it seem like he had taken over Art's old show and was the new host. I had just recently discovered Art around that time so I didn't realize that Jimmy was on a completely different show. Anyways like I said I started checking out Fade to Black sometimes and find it listenable. I'll even listen to him on Coast which he seems to be doing on Fridays a lot these days. He's so much better than Noory who I've tried to listen to a few times but just can't.

I also sort of remember a "we're good friends" pic of he and Art which turned out to be of questionable validity.

Same thing happened to Falkie. Seems like anyone who comes within a certain radius of Noory not only stops being a critic but becomes a friend, like he holds a Svengali-like power over people. Creepy.
