That sound of thunder was recorded by Art many, many years ago during a particularly intense desert storm.  He would use it just before the bumper music going to, and coming back from breaks.  He told us the story about the thunder recording on his show the first night he used it.  I wish I could remember which show.  It was before snoortard reared his ugly head.  Ramona was still alive then.

I quit paying attention after that, but judging from what passes for modern music these days, I sincerely hope China and Russian fucking eat, eat, eat the West. At least they still have good music there.
