I'm going to assume that Heather has gotten a lot through her life by using guilt trips and playing the victim. She's a professional at it. Starr and others were quick to tell her how special she was. It really was quite something to watch her manipulate others like that.
That being said, I honestly don't care if mitd turns into a huge success or sinks quietly into the ocean of radio. mitd was seriously exhausting. It was a ride I am glad I no longer have to suffer through. But like others have said, here is to everyone achieving success. cheers and whatnot.

I dont think she did.. I think like Bateman claimed is that she had a real meltdown when she figured out that they wanted to replace her and that is something I even understand.
I think she just spun it into being a joke beause she does not want to admit that she broke down and lashed out her frustrations on the wrong guy.

Like Art she wants the public to see her as thick skinned when in reality she is quite impacted by the comments, trolling and the shit going on at DMDN.

Her 'I was joking but serious' came off as insincere to me. If Pete or someone said 'we need a man!' she should have said 'fuck off' instead of calling Bateman to get him to do the show (maybe? Jokingly?).

She should have just said she was under a lot of stress and apologized instead of using the 'people are poking fun at me why can't I poke fun at you (maybe)?'

I also think she took the 'make the show your own' as a criticism when it wasn't meant to be. I don't listen much but the guests all seem to be the same old art paranormal guests. I'm sure a non Art podcast without a fee for archives she would be fine.

Loony doesn't even begin to cover her issues. It was a terrible attempt at PR in a long line of missteps from the Art Bell camp.

I listened to both of these people and I'm not sure if I was listening to the same show. One came off as genuine in expressing how they truly felt about the incident and the other seemed to be attempting to pass everything off as a misunderstanding. If someone's attitude is confrontational but their intention was to 'joke around' how long am I expected to guess at their true intention. I have to take it as it's presented to me and it's up to the jokester to not let it get out of hand. I certainly wouldn't expect to wait 48 hours for clarity. An e mail or a PM could have cleared this up before it spilled over on to the forum. A private apology would not have been out of line. Lesson learned- stay in character - if you're serous; stay serious- if you're joking around, you're under an obligation to let the person know this before the conversation ends.
