Dave Schrader

Gassy Man

I don't even know what this guy is babbling about.  he is ponderous, though.

FallenSeraph

Dave Schrader and his sidekick Tim on Darkness Radio make me laugh my ass off in a good way. I just listened to Thursday's "How the Hell do You Get Out of Hell" Darkness Radio show and I couldn't help but CHORTLE HEARTILY at that batty lady who managed to combine ALL THE RELIGIONS and a little bit of "Ghostbusters" into one book. I kind of heard Dave sigh and give up about halfway through that interview. In his defense, he tried to call bullish*t a few times, but that lady was like an unstoppable wacko-machine.

These days I only listen to C2C when Dave is hosting. I'm actually a little afraid to post this opinion for fear that George (OH, GEORGE!) will read it and fire him.

Anyone listening to this show? I turned it on for a few minutes, but couldn't get involved in it.

Yeah I am.  I love the paranormal stuff but not so much into the technical side of ghost-hunting equipment.  The second half appears to be a rehash of what the Presidents know about UFO's which has been done to death on C2C.  I may turn it off.  Schraeder asks good questions so I'll give it a half hour.

Dave schrader is ok. His blind faith in ghost is a little annoying in the face of some obvious hoaxes see paranormal state. Often frequently topics he does are just not interesting. Personal reading and joe who on all the time on darkness radio make for some rough nights. The Joshua p warren sponsorship/stalking of darkness radio for months was pathetic. Seems darkness radio has been better of late. It seems like schrader could be a better host but just never developed all the way, he is a bit immature perhaps this limited his growth as a host. Still I would say he is above average as far as paranormal podcast go. I like Tim Dennis as well.

Not listening or haven't listened tonight...

Schrader, sounds like he got a bum deal, or bum fight...  I don't think the host wants to fight over a bottle of vodka with his guests... and maybe that's what D.Noorie hopes will happen?  Morbid Jorch self identifies with how he would deal with a radio guest and schedules his "fill-ins" accordionly?

I apply Occam's Razor to Jorch...  Bad host, bad shoe?

I apologize, Schrader that you have to deal with this...

The hosting Schrader does on Coast is a constant reminder of two things: He is a good broadcasting and most importantly, he is a great broadcaster on his own show.
He is different when he is on the home turf of Darkness Radio. Those shows are always entertaining and good, scary and fun.
On Coast, he seems out of his element. Maybe because it's later? Maybe because a bigger national audience is a little scary?
Or maybe because the show has been tainted.

I tuned in about an hour into the show and some man with an ild school Southern drawl (like, Civil War old school) was droning on and on, for a good 5 uninterrupted minutes straight, about Eisenhower. I turned it off, waited 8 mins or so, turned it back on and he was *still* going for it! I thought the first half was about communicating with the dead and the "ghost phone"! Was Eisenhower on the line???? Did Schrader *ever* chime in???? Was he asleep???

I think it's been said that he has limited input on guests. He can suggest someone, but ultimately it's up to the producers what guests he gets when he assumes the role of host.

I don't know about that, because a few new guests on C2C have been guests Schrader already interviewed on his own show (Darkness Radio). So, it seems to me he brought C2C new guests.

Too funny......and, you are right......the guest did go on and on and on.......Schrader chimed in occasionally.  I enjoyed the program, but that guest was starting to irritate me toward the end.

Blessed are those with patience. It sounds like I missed out!

I liked the guest, he seemed to have a lot of common sense.  Unfortunately nobody asked him about the alleged incident of Richard Nixon taking Jackie Gleason to see a UFO and/or a space alien.  I would have been interested in hearing what he thought about that.

The old guy guest was incredibly hard to listen to. Every sentence was a struggle for him to drag out. He had a cross between a southern accent and a Canadian one.  I still like Dave Schrader, though.

He told a caller that his accent was from Virginia...

Thanks, Morgus.  I'm always interested in accents, and I kept hearing him say the "oo" sound that Canadians use instead of the "o" sound we use in most states.

I do remember once meeting someone from Tidewater Virginia who literally could not understand me, nor I her.  I'm originally from Texas.  Had to have her niece translate for us.  ::)

The caller asked if he was from the Appalachians.  I loved his accent and the way he said aboot (which, contrary to what most Americans apparently believe, most Canadians do NOT say).

Really? I haven't been able to listen regularly in a long time. I hate Para-share because of his insistence of taking callers instead of reading E-Mail. I can only take so many people talking about how they "just knew so and so was telling me it was ok" and it seems like every guest is some kind of Psychic or some new-age Hoodoo bullshit. a couple weeks ago I caught a UFO show that was ok though. It's just nothing ever seems creepy anymore which is odd with the intro they have.

Dave's show is on Dark Matter Network right now, and Dave's just said George Noory will be on tonight to make his big announcement of whatever it is he's been talking about lately.

Also Dave will be hosting Coast 2 nights this weekend. (Don't remember if it was Fri. Sat. or Sun.)

Sorry about saying Dave was on DMN.  He has his own show in Minneapolis that I listen to through News Talk AM 1130.  He's not on DMN at all.  My bad. :(

If anyone paid any attention to me, I'd be worried that I've started a new Jimmy Church episode.

I wonder if Dave will give us an update on his planned excursion to investigate a sasquatch this summer at the house of a guest he hosted during the winter.

I read the Ghost Sex kindle book.  I believe the lady.  What she had to suffer and her son had to witness was beyond abominable.  I think it was 2 different spirits.

I've wondered about that too, Georgie fP.  I had to miss part of the show tonight, so I may have missed it if he did.

Anyone know?

I thought the "Aggressive Hauntings" interview was very good.  Schrader was in his wheel-house of the strange and the ghostly.  He sounded relaxed and engaged, and even displayed some of his humor (which he "pots down" when guest-hosting Coast, for some reason).  Gavin Davies, sipping Earl Grey tea at 6 am Wales-time and chatting amiably, was charming.  Dave deftly handled the "sensitive" topic of reported sexual assault by entities.

I swear to any gods listening. This woman caller has been talking for a straight five minutes. She must be one of the new regular every night of the week callers because I've heard her before. And before....and

Dave Schrader had to advertise Noory's dumb new paranormal date venture several times tonight.
Other guests host will probably have to do that too in the future, reminding listeners of Noory even when he is off that night!

Yeah, that is a drag.  But the guest got a good line in about a paranormal dating service where someone might be looking for a threesome...such as: "you, me, and your succubus".

Scully

I have it on good authority that Dave S. will be going on the Sasquatch hunt sometime between now and the end of August, depending on when he can get everyone together.  He'll report on his findings on both Coast and his own show, Darkness on the Edge of Town.

Pretty good show so far. I really wonder how Norry would've handled the Welsh ghost expert and talks of incubus and succubus, ghost rape, etc. Norry seems so uncomfortable anytime sex is mentioned, even when the terms used are generic and the story is explained in a non-prurient manner. I can understand being on the air one has to be careful about obscenity but he seems to be particularly uncomfortable.

Dave (real Dave) said that he would be going to that lady who problems with bigfeet at her house some time in the next 3 months because they to wait for better weather.

Thanks Scully.  Good sleuthing.
