Anybody who thinks legal immigration to America is easy is nuts.

Art

True you dealt with a lot of BS getting your family back over here after you were in the Phillipines.

Finally, if you have a problem with who I support for President, tough shit. By the way my Wife wants not just a wall, she wants a high voltage fence! After dealing with the legal way to come here a person tends to resent people who wade their way across.

Aka "Fuck you, got mine."

Do it the Airyn way! Marry some old rich dude for your ticket to the US of A!

Incidentally, it makes perfect sense for Mr. Bell to have not wanted to share this information publicly. That's a tough spot to be in.

One wonders, what has developed most recently, to cause him to decide to announce this. Bummer. Sobering. Did I mention, I already quit smoking? I'm gonna look into that Bahá'í thing now, Hell's bells, it probably couldn't hurt.

Hah hah, she'd have something to say about that, heh. We just weren't compatible, but we tried for a decade until we both accepted defeat. I feel in love for her for the reasons I STILL admire her, and she's the same way for me. But people grow up and change, life is like that, over 1/2 of us have divorced at least once. And she was too jealous also. I never cheated but just because I was handsome according to her, she was jealous too much. At least now I am old and ugly, hah hah.

Don't fret. MV is advertising a Thai dating website...

Unless you are a code jockey from the Subcontinent and possess dubious skills.
H-1B's a plenty for them.  Although I guess technically that isn't immigration.

It shouldnt be easy- It should be a way to separate the wheat from the chaff.

And yes, finances need to be considered- Someone marrying an established individual and coming here is very different than someone who cannot speak the language, has no real skill or education beyond whats required of menial labor (inflating  the labor pool) and ending  up being entirely or partially taxpayer supported.

those things need to matter.

We should be going for the best of the best, the top tier and the ones who can come here and not live off the already drained system that cannot even take care of its veterans.

The last 4 pages belong on the politics board!  If I cared what people think about the election, I would be reading that thread; not this one.

Oh gee, sorry.

Americans always threaten to move to Canada whenever a right winger is elected president.

Who wouldn't want to such a cutie to be their leader?

If you're so concerned about getting the word out about not smoking (as another of your posts attests) then maybe it's time to change your avatar. Some of your dumber fans on here might think it may be a cool habit to pick up after seeing your avatar.
Besides, what kind of asshole poses with a cigarette anymore? (Yeah I know it's an older photo)

Art's avatar rocks. I like it because it brings me back to the days when I first started listening. The cigarette makes no difference.

My Wife didn't want to come to America at all, I am the one who made that decision because they wouldn't let me keep my antenna's up. We will be Married Ten Years in April and could not be happier, think whatever you wish.

I love canada.

Michigan tradition is to go to Windsor on your 19th birthday (at least it was back when that was the drinking age) and buy 222s or whatever those codine pills were called that were OTC.

Good times in canada

Yeah, it's one of the best promo photos of anyone I've ever seen. It captures the mood of Art's shows back in the 90's.

Aside from all of that, which is true, Art still dealt with a ton of BS when he came back to the US.

You are right about that.  It's grueling and takes forever.

But I have a heart for those looking to escape crushing poverty and a dead end existence by risking their lives.  I've met many a Central American who braved all kinds of ridiculous perils just to be dumped out of an 18 wheeler in the middle of a US city with no money & no contacts.  If the Phillipines were located directly across one of our borders I suspect you'd find a lot of Phillipinos swimming across the Rio Grande too.  It's just what people with no future do.  Can't blame them for trying in my opinion.

He got remarried so soon INS probably monitored him to make sure he wasn't getting paid to get someone nationalized.

No cant blame them one bit. Like everyone else they want whats best for themselves amnd their families.

That needs to start being our attitude as well because we cant support the World. They have to work out their own issues.

It sounds cold but 'cold' is  whats needed right now if we are to have a future for our children.

So the new affiliate seeker position requires radio experience but won't be paid and the new host, who claims she is well paid, was not required to have any radio experience. You can't make this stuff up!

Having worked in the industry for almost 20 years in both on air and on the sales side, I thought about tossing my hat in the ring after reading the post just for shits and giggles.
