Art's facebook comment was unnecessary. How many times are you gonna complain about trolls? Yeah some of the shit was said about you but the fact of the matter is most people who visit bellgab are Art Bell fans one way or another.

The trolls that hate on Art don't care what he said about them, but now he is just blaming the forum for everything, his not coming back, Heather not coming back ect. How about you focus on the FANS on the forum and not just the trolls, which btw did you really think quitting for 7th time would go over well? Art Bell just doesn't give a shit as he is now dissing the forum that helped him the most and contains his most hardcore fans.

My take on that Facebook post is that it was Art's way of trying to hurt Bellgab, since Bellgab hurt him (since he quit) by so may of its members turning against him.  "So mature."

This made hot tea come out my nose.  Ouch!

Yep!  I'll bet all four of them laughed their as*es off at this.  They certainly won't find this much fun and excitement on Facebook!  The best way for Art to deal with haters & trolls is to go right back on the air and do his thing.  Dare them to do it better.  They can't and they won't.

Art should come back this Friday night for a special full moon Open Lines.  I remember he loved full moon shows as it brings out all the crazies.  He could have a special 'stalker' line.  Fake, wannabe stalkers would light up the phones, and maybe even the odd real stalker.  This arena is Art's playground, he needs to take it back.  Besides, he doesn't have to broadcast from home :)

I think at 70, Art no longer has the vitality to go up against the haters and the trolls.  To him, they must be demoralizing and he probably feels he has far more detractors than supporters.  All he can do is lash out (rather weakly, imo) in the occasional FB post (where he can control the comments there, too, so it's not much of a risk).

His idea of dealing with detractors back in the day was "don't give in, don't give a shit". I have an idea how he viewed BellGab, and it wasn't simply a base of fans he later felt turned on him. It would turn into a to;dr post but simply put - many old people suck at this new-fangled social media thingy.

Regardless of all that's happened I suspect Art deeply misses being on the air.  There was no closure for him or his listeners the way he abruptly quit under stressful circumstances.  malachi.martini's excellent gif could inadvertently provide a metaphor for how Art retires:  In fun and laughter, going out in a dramatic blaze.  I predict he'll return, even if it's to say "goodnight all."

Huh. it's been a long time.

Daddy might come back but you've been beating the drums of reckoning for awhile now.

I wouldn't come back for you. I might be afraid of what you think this fucker owes you.

At this point, I don't know what else there would be left to say.  Perhaps he would still want to do a few full shows- but I suspect that simply stating that the ride is officially over and that those remaining should unfasten their restraints and exit the roller coaster may be the way to go...

On the other hand, judging by his posts, it seems unlikely that he wants people getting off the ride just yet.  The track has been in need of maintenance and the cars a full overhaul for awhile now- but he seems determined to send it around for one more run... Who has contacted their local station to carry MITD since his last post?

My understanding is that Ramona had emphysema, or at least I remember reading that somewhere. I grew up with a girl who's asthma attacks were so bad that even the hormones that she took did not help much. She was in the emergency room every time that her inhaler didn't do much to help her breathing.  Art and Ramona were in the middle of the desert when her attack hit her. No hospitals or EMTs around. Also, Ramona and Art were big time smokers. That can't help the situation when you can't breathe.
Thanks for that information.
Were I Art, at that age, I would move closer to civilization - someplace where they had a good teaching hospital.  I know that installation in Pahrump is something he's attached to, but maybe if they were closer to good medical facilities she would have gotten better care.

Who really cares anymore ... ?
Art Bell still trying to conduct the choir .....he could do it in the past when he had a good tune.
Now? Just a discordant noise .... with a feeble old man waving his arms ...... at windmills.
'Best Before' date was decades ago ....
Sad and pathetic end ......
You want to look away, and remember the choirmaster as he once was ....

I suppose I was just surprised that there was no exception made, no blunting the words and no acknowledgement that maybe there are still a few good (albeit) misguided members.

Art may not realize that many of the recent posts fall under the category of "absurdist humour". When a situation seems not to make sense you make a joke about it.  :)

Art is the sole author of all his detractors/misfortune.

If he is angry, demoralized etc, I suggest he direct his anger to his reflection in a mirror.

Art coming back now is just an embarrassment to himself and an insult to those who wait and will listen, 'cause guess what folks?!?...he's just going to do it again !!!

Maybe Art is trying to break some world record for the one who quit yet didn't retire  ;) ....but if course it is always someone or something else at fault!!

Why on earth would anyone be contacting their radio station to carry the show since Art hung up the mic, but didn't retire?

There is no more MITD....it died when Art left.

Of course Art wants people to keep waiting, hoping and paying.....this feeds both his narcissistic ego and his pocketbook!!!!

For sure there is no DMN I stopped listening and now listen to programs like Future Theater on their own Network. Same goes for Military X-Files or whatever it is called.

It would be interesting to know what DMN's listening numbers are these days. Probably waaaaay down.

One thing is certain, as long as Heather Wade is hosting MITD I cannot and will not listen to her. Her voice and tone reminds me too much of a kindergarten teacher trying to keep her students interested. No go for me.

Why can't we know the real numbers? If they are as good as they claim, post them.

BellBoy

It could just be me, but Heather plays this song an awful lot and each time, I can't help but think she's directing it at Art.

Well I would be showing my success not hiding it. After the last gabcast I am really not buying the "official" story anymore. It's been a great learning lesson in what not to do. I really wanted to switch teams or at least be more positive, but yeah, that is not happening now. The sales guy got fired, so I'm not sure exactly how numbers would improve? (And I'm being delicate, I could really get into it if I wanted to.)

Also I hate that by the time I get around to reading 4chan in the morning all of the posts are gone. LOL.

The Who has to right up there.  They did the first of their many farewell tours about twenty-five or thirty years ago, and the Pete and Roger still hits the road from time to time. "Hope I die before I get old" is easy to say when you're twenty.

I agree. First and probably only Gabcast I listened to and wow... She was seriously pretending like everything is just fine. Glosses over the total loss of affliates by claiming, 'we have someone on that' and, 'they never really mattered', I'm sure they like hearing that. It's almost pathetic how people fanatically support that crash diving sub. Please, the show is low-tier podcast work at best and she may just be a bit diagnosable.

At this point it's just fun to watch how fanaticism warps someone's reality.

Good luck, Art, getting the Facebook crowd to promote you. There are crops to be watered, candy to be crushed, and exes to locate.

He will *never* get a level of participation from Facepalmers anywhere near the amount he got from BellGab.
