Could be totally off-base here, more speculation, but when Art abruptly said, I'm done, Keith immediately sent instructions for canceling. To, me, that was one high strung person, impulsively reacting to the impulsive actions of another highstrung person, ( just as prior to July 20, Art quit, then Keith quit).
I wish for Art & his family's safety. I wish for Keith to be wildly successful, and I wish Art would return soon.

Look, all I'm saying is there are a few definitions of "troll" and one of them is most definitely someone who goes into a chat room or forum or comment section or whatever and does nothing but complain and bitch and moan and whine and attack others in that group.  It's as simple as that.  There have been MANY people doing that here in BellGab since Art announced he wants to back away.  All kinds of folks showed up out of nowhere, and if you look up many of their histories you'll see that they haven't commented here in AGES.  The single and only reason they came here and posted was because of Art's announcement and they don't come with any sense of support for the man.  They're attacking him.  They're attacking his character, his judgment, his history.  They're attacking the level-headed folks here on BellGab.   It's pathetic.  And it's EXACTLY what many trolls do.  Anyone who's been on the Internet for any period of time knows that

Art is a big boi nao, he makes or breaks himself. Actions have consequences. I'll hug Arts nuts, but I'm not his White Knight. Some things people have said I don't agree with, and might not be fair to Art. It is however their opinions and their feelings, which are no more or less valid than anyone elsez about the situation. MV allows us to use this forum as a platform to express those thoughts, feelings, opinions, and gossip the way we see fit. Within limitations, which are few. Praise MV!

However thatz a far cry from trolling. Such a seasoned internet worrier like yourself should be so jaded as not to even notice all but the best trolls the internet has to offer. Crying trolls trolls everywhere is just being defensive, dismissive, or lazy. Some people on the internet are like sharks, and when they smell blood in the water they go into a feeding frenzy. Any seasoned vet of the internet should already except that as a fact of the internet. So much so it is a subconscious unspoken rule. One persons troll is anotherz treasure. Relatively speaking.

How about cutting his losses?  MITD was not taking off as they planned.  Four months in and the big market radio world was not beating the anticipated path to Pahrump.  That's more likely the real reason why Art bailed out.

I think it was far larger than anticipated.

The Art Bell on the radio seems so different from the off air Art Bell.

I have it on the good word of the membership of this forum that since art covers flaky topics on his show, that he believes in flaky topics off the air in his personal life as well.

I don't know when the obsession with gaining affiliates became so important, but I wasn't following as closely as others here and definitely might have missed something.  I was "off site" for a large amount of the ~cycle~.

Perhaps MITD changed their business model from Time Traveler supported free podcast to an ad revenue dependent radio show?

If there is any credence to the accusations that Art's stalker is made up, I'd venture to guess that the show getting too big, and having the obligations of broadcast radio business being a primary undisclosed factor driving Art's actions. 


This is a man who doesn't like having a boss or binding obligations well beyond what most of us here would feel.  I've always felt that this was the core of the Sirius/xm divorce, and not streaming issues.
