On 11/19/2015 at approximately 1840 hrs Art Bell’s producer called the Nye County Sheriff’s Office to report that Art had received a call from a blocked number saying that if he went on the air that night he and his family would be dead.

I hope they bust this caller.

i has been thinking of that and i really..do not know the answer but i was wondering just why sirens and lights were need to begin with...i mean i could see in a more densely populated..city yo need them to get people out of the way but from all i have seen/read from people..Pahump isnt that

My first post, after following this forum with, well, admiration. Here we have, with few exceptions, a very smart bunch of people. I think, as usual, you guys have all the bases covered, insofar as that's possible in the current circumstances.

I'll just add that this whole event-in-process/phenomenon strikes me as life imitating art (or Art, since the expression happens to be apropos and the pun is hard to avoid). "Life," in this case, is Art communicating with his fans online about what's going on with him and the show. "Art," in this case, is everything that Art and his guests say on air when he's in his radio persona, whether it's about ghosts, UFOs, Bigfoot, whatever.

So what we've got here is a (sort of) real-life mystery centering on a Shadow Shooter, with no physical evidence and some vague but emotionally compelling eyewitness testimony. If we could only have Art interview himself on these incidents and ensuing blow-up, it would make for great radio. Instead, we have BGers biting each other's heads off because, in part, of the disorientation and upset caused by Art blurring the line between what the police apparently regard as a minor undetermined incident and what Art is treating as a major life event -- in other words, the line that separates what's factual and what's imagined or exaggerated.

Anyway, the whole thing has gotten out of hand and it's a shame. Art might be able to help the situation if he could manage to separate Real-life Art from Radio Art for long enough. I'd hold my breath if i thought it might help.

Well they did not include a statement from another Neighbor who saw the man in front of my Studio firing the rifle but they will talk to the officer and amend the report. For now here is the latest from the Nye County Sheriff Dept.
PRESS RELEASE
In response to requests we are releasing a subsequent Press Release about calls for service surrounding Art Bell and his residence.
On 10/21/2015 at approximately 2258 hrs a neighbor down the street from the residence of Art Bell reporting hearing several shots and a vehicle driving away however did not see anything in the area. The person reporting stated that when they went to the area they found a fresh beer. NCSO Deputies responded to the area and were unable to locate anything regarding this event.
On 10/22/2015 at approximately 0144 hrs Art Bell called because he was on the air and the neighbor advised him about the shots being fired. Art Bell stated he did not see or hear anything and was simply advised by the neighbor.
On 11/19/2015 at approximately 1840 hrs Art Bell’s producer called the Nye County Sheriff’s Office to report that Art had received a call from a blocked number saying that if he went on the air that night he and his family would be dead. That night the producer said that Art Bell did not want contact that evening and that calls should go to the producer. NCSO Deputies spoke with Art Bell and he said that he had received the threatening phone call and did not want to report it but simply wanted it documented.
On 11/24/2015 at approximately 1525 hrs Art Bell contacted the Nye County Sheriff’s Office to report that a male was on his property the night prior and was kneeling down by his window. Art Bell requested extra patrol during the night time hours.
Nye County Sheriff’s Office Deputies have done extra patrol in the area and have not been able to locate anyone in the area.

OK...here is what I think Art needs to do if he has any hope of getting out of this fiasco, if he really wants to ever be on the air again.

He needs to go on the air tonight and apologize for over reacting to a very stressful situation for him and his family...that his words and statements were made under extreme stress and duress....plead for understanding.

He needs to apologize to his audience, his staff and all his affiliates, Keith, DMDN etc., for over reacting to a very bad and stressful situation in his life. He needs to iterate a plan that he has both to keep his family safe and to ensure that he is a viable entity that will continue the show and/or state clearly that he is taking a leave with a plan until this situation is resolved ( which is what he should have done in the first place IMHO)

Not sure how he can recant naming Heather as the new host/hostess of MITD.

Then he needs to do tonight's show, perhaps with Heather as an add on...the whole show.

Without this, he is toast with absolutely no credibility or any way to make this right,

Art has the ability to get security for tonight and/or get his girls out somewhere safe in Vegas or elsewhere and/or both.

This is a really tough hole for Art to crawl out of this time by his own doing sadly, however if he doesn't do it tonight, it's over IMHO.

So Art, IF you are not really retiring?...you really want to do MITD...you are really not hanging up your microphone and you will or won't be back today, any day, anytime or whatever....well tonight is the night to make it all right ( I hope ) .

You can tell that by the words such as "I think" and "if".  It would be different if he actually told him what to do, but he didnt. Its just an opinion. Try to relax.
