Keith could use $4.99 of that. Throw in the last cent and he might do that BG link.

Yes, in fact I saw at my local liquor the "next" in cheap drunkenness: "Vodka In A Box." 3 liters of vokda in a box. Had to be invented by a Russian or Pole. Portable, stackable, won't break, and cheap ($20.) Going to be my 'white elephant' gift at a Christmas party.

This outrage stuff is getting out of hand.  Are actual adults penning these posts or what?

If I were Art and saw all this nonsense posted I'd just say fuck you all and never come back.  Acting this way is the worst possible way to get what you want.

Are there any Russian churches nearby? That would explain boxed vodka.

Some Russian-sounding name, haven't bought yet and your post just reminded me to do so, but made here in the US midwest/Kentucky in one of those industrial distilling places that make the stuff for companies to market under various labels, I imagine. Even some of your popular stuff is now made in huge industrial distillers not even owned by the brand and then branded sold, even various whiskeys that aren't 'cheap.' Doesn't mean they can't be good (though I doubt this vodka being so cheap and stored in a plastic bag inside a box will be) but I think some "untruth" in advertising.

At this point it wouldn't surprise me if another stalker shows up threatening to shoot him if he doesn't go BACK on the air.

I agree, its disgraceful. Whatever reason caused Art to leave is nobodys business except for him and Yoko.

If ur gonna misspell chan deliberately, may I suggest "CHIN" as in 4chin.
Because thatz the minimum number of chins that most of the neckbeards that dwell there have.
Thank you for your tiem.
I've never been to the place nor do I intend to go.  I haven't any idea what goes on there.  But, I thank you for the info.  4chin it is! ;)

Now there's an idea for a new blitz. A couple dozen bellgabbers show up packing heat and tell Art he HAS to go on the air. The original nutjob would slink away if he saw a couple dozen nuthuggers encircling Art's compound.

And apparently didn't spend too long looking around not finding any evidence of anything.
we really don't know that for sure one way or the other. Did they not find any gun fire damage because they didn't look hard enough or because the Purp didn't shoot at anything specifically? The report wouldn't indicate one way or the other which of these is true.

It would have been a lot better if Art had originally just announced a hiatus period like for an early holiday break and then wait and see if it can work out. Then the stations might have waited during the usual holiday period of replays for a few weeks?

Yeah he made it pretty clear he was done. When you say or any other night, I'm pretty sure that means that you are done now and in the future. The guy really needs to not say these kinds of things.

Here is my take, FWIW.
I joined here last summer when word got out He was returning for real.
I got to hear the "test night" before he went full on live. I will admit I was very hopeful that this was going to become as special as it was back in the days when I found Art, 1992ish. It really did seem to be headed that direction. I signed up as a Time Traveler the first day, wanting to help reassure him the core audience was still here.
After this past week, and looking at the log from NCSO about the 3rd report of shots fired and didn't see where the responding officers found any evidence of same, I just don't know.
I spent 26 years in law enforcement.
Something like this happens to someone like Art who happens to live in our jurisdiction and the gloves go off, the overtime sheets are authorized and the problem is solved.
I can't imagine doing it any other way.
From what I've read there were 3 incidents. If they all involved shots fired after #2 we would have had a team out there working the situation, every night all night until the suspect was in custody. Period, end of story. I can hear the boss now.
"This man is no different than a guy running a small business in our town, gentleman. with the exception he is famous. There is no way in hell our failure to do our job is going to be the cause of this business closing down. Develop a plan, get the people together, and fix the problem. Do it now. We are not going to have some nutcase shooting him, his neighbors or anyone else."
Now, if this was the case I am sure the cops would have told Art to keep quiet about it on the air, and just go about his normal routine so that the SOB wouldn't be spooked or alerted that the cops were in the brush loaded for bear.
We may not even have told Art we were out there.
So, I dunno.
I'd like to believe the man. I'd also like to believe the Art I know would move his wife and child into town someplace safe for a couple of weeks, then put an giant inflatable FU finger in the yard, and let the cops do their thing.
His response seems out of character.
Then, I think again.
The man is 70 years that old. He points that out pretty frequently.
He may just not be ready to play hardball. He is 70, has a young wife and a young daughter that is rightly the light of his life.
But, he has left us in such a way that leaves us all wondering what the heck happened. Some of you folks here have put in a tremendous amount of effort supporting him. If he decided at some point decide M-F was too much for him, he should have simply stated so to us. If he was dealing with a criminal situation he should have worked with the cops.
If there was family pressure to quit or slow down, he should have told us.
I believe that if Art had wanted this to go on it would have. For whatever reason I don't think he does.
I hope some day he tells us. It would be nice to finish clean.

I was the victim of an extortionist one time, by a guy who claimed to be a member of the Mexican Mafia, even threatening to harm my 9-year-old daughter (somehow he even knew her name) if I didn't pay up, a frightening experience that scared the bejesus out of me, but I worked with the police, cooperated, and finally, after a couple of days of stalling, ostensibly so I had time to raise the money, and when the extortionist called for the last time, he was so ecstatic after I telling him that I had the money now right in front of me, all of it, I was able to draw out the phone call longer this time, until finally a police officer came on the line, requesting to speak with the detective who was at my home with me. The phone call had been traced to a phone booth about a mile from my home, where two suspects were arrested.  After testifying as the state's witness (a legal conflict had bumped the case from the county to the state), my testimony put the suspects in prison for several years.

I'm only bringing this up now because I have told this debacle to lots of people since, as I'm even doing now, many not believing that any of this happened to me, claiming that I had made it all up.   I could have played for the doubters the audio copies of the phone calls between the extortionist and me, but I never bothered, because I didn't give a shit wheather anyone believed me or not. I knew in my own heart and mind that it all had happened, so there was nothing to prove.

Art, on the other hand, seems to be greatly concerned that some of us can't buy his story, even going out of his way to quell our suspicions.  I'm having a tough time though because, from my own experience, his reactions are all departure from normal human response.

Finally, now he claims that his wife is responsible for forcing him to quit, suggesting he doesn't even wear the pants in the family.  When she finds out that he's publically blaming her now, he'll end up in the dog house, from where, if he ever does another show, he will be broadcasting, cramped, using only his smartphone.

I have a friend who's a big Art Bell fan, but who stays way clear of internet forums, and drama in general (Art, he's a Ham, too!).  He asked me just now if there was any news since Friday afternoon.  I copied and sent him Icicle Trepan's post, without comment.

(He understands my sense of humor)
