Does that mean we're also responsible for Hoagie having his own show?

We will be held accountable.

Oh, Art should know above all else that you can't invite in the vampires because it always ends in tears. We're in now and he's got to do as he's told!

Last time I had one of those over it ended in blood, tears, latex and regret.

Just saw you pouting in the corner.  Perhaps next time you will try harder when contacting broadcasters.

Perhaps!

I can't approach the station Coast is on, of course, which leaves a lot of music-only stations, a couple all talk/NPR stations, and AM.

Hopefully they'll be watching the numbers this month and jump on board next month, but we'll see ...

In an era where craftsmanship is in short supply, in virtually every field, it's such a treat to hear someone perform with such skill and expertise, who actually takes great pride in what he's doing.
Yes, it's MUCH appreciated.  If you want the opposite, it's easy enough to find.

GFP2216, I found some more info on the analysis:

Art reports on May 20th, 1996 :
The part weighs 97 mg. is weighs and should weigh 160mg.  aka.1100 aluminum
measures 6mm x 6mm x 1mm
.

But this is before the entire analysis was released, which is included in better detail below.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
"UFO PARTS" LESS ANOMALOUS THAN PREVIOUSLY CLAIMED
But Some Odd Features Remain to Be Explained

Reporting on Art Bell's syndicated radio program "Dreamland" Sunday night,
June 9, investigator Linda Howe said that the strange aluminum pieces sent to
Bell by an anonymous source are not as anomalous as previously reported. The
pieces, dubbed "Art's Parts," are allegedly part of the wreckage recovered
from the fabled UFO crash near Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. According to a
letter accompanying the pieces, the sender's grandfather recovered them at
the crash site and held them in secret until shortly before his death, when
he disclosed them to other members of the family.

Linda Howe has helped to coordinate laboratory analysis of some of the
pieces. So far it has been determined that they are composed mainly of
extremely pure aluminum. However, preliminary measurement of the size of one
piece, when compared with its weight, seemed to indicate that its density was
about 60% greater than expected for aluminum. Though small amounts of other
elements were identified in the piece, nothing accounted for the large weight
discrepancy.

Now Linda Howe says a simple error of measurement was responsible for what
appeared at first to be a potentially earthshaking discovery.

The scientist who first measured the piece was a biologist, Howe said. He
used a scanning electron microscope to take the size measurements, not
realizing that this method was prone to large error. A week later, after the
object's apparently anomalous density had been announced on Bell's program, a
second scientist -- this time a metallurgist -- measured the object with a
micrometer. Its actual thickness was 60% greater than previously assumed,
thus accounting for the additional weight. The object's density is therefore
just what it should be for pure aluminum.

The biologist, Howe said, was "extremely apologetic and embarrassed" to have
made such a major error.

"There's an important lesson here," Howe said. "Scientists make mistakes like
anyone else. That's why science demands repeatability."

But other features of "Art's Parts" remain unexplained and potentially
significant, Howe said. Some of the pieces contain layers of bismuth and
magnesium/zinc alloy, the purpose of which is not immediately apparent.
Further testing will be conducted this week.

Howe lamented the fact that there is no laboratory where such testing can be
done quickly and efficiently by qualified scientists at no charge. The
analysis of "Art's Parts" is being done voluntarily by several scientists in
their spare time, using borrowed equipment and lab space.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
So at least we have the reported density disparity resolved. It was a simple measurement error.

Hey, thanks for the followup.  Sorry if I came off as a jerk when I was trying to figure out what would make aluminum heavier.  I know you were only reporting what you heard.  I just couldn't figure out how it could be since properties of the elements are universal.  A stable heavy isotope of aluminum would have been very interesting.  But, measurement errors are pretty easy to do and it gives the researchers credibility that they were willing to report the error.

How would you guys rank the episodes from last week?

1. Hancock
2. Nassim Haramein
3. Open Lines
4. Faddis
5. Howe

Didn't care too much for Howe or Faddis but they were still enjoyable to some extent.

Any info or rumors on the guest for Monday?

Didn't care too much for Faddis but he was enjoyable to an extent. Overall it was a fantastic first week full of classic shows that I will most definitely be re-listening to. 1-4 specifically.
Howe would be ranked higher if it wasn't for Nassim coming out of know where and being just amazing. Such an engaging interview that was.

My hopes for guests upcoming are MadMan, Bob Lazar, and Neil Degrasse Tyson.

Speaking of favorites. Last night on U7 they played my 2 favorite all times back to back. George Lutz and Malachi Martin. I got very little sleep.

I don't like all the gloom and doom of Faddis.  His analysis was such a bummer that I had nightmares all night after listening to him.  I'll bet there are others who can offer some hope on the situation, or at least some more positive things that can be done to ameliorate some of the damages.  As the sun rises, I realize that late at night it is easier to believe in such things as my logical mind is starting to call it a night.

Most people who forecast nothing but evil and hopelessness in the future either are nuts or have something to gain somewhere.  I don't mind having him on the show, but if I wanted a steady diet of that, maybe I'd be tuning to Alex Jones?  Maybe he just wants us to be sure that we all digest that this president makes bad decisions?

How does HE propose that we prevent Iran from having the bomb?  Isn't it likely that this mess could deteriorate into them fighting amongst themselves?

If we are just a short way from creating a warp drive, could we possibly have new weapons that would actually minimize the bomb?

Look at the Y2k crap.  Did any of you work in IT then?  I worked for a major corporation and liaised  regularly with IT and in NO WAY were we unprepared.  Consultants had a field day in those times.  Someone should have been doing more research, interviewing those who worked in the field, before attempting to panic the public in such a disgraceful way.  The trade and scientific magazines were also carrying articles saying things were under control.

So, it would be nice if someone with an opinion which is counter to that of Mr. Faddis could make him/herself known to prevent us from blowing our brains out.

"The Shadow Men is a 1998 movie in which a married couple, Bob and Dez Wilson, and their 12-year-old son Andy are being accosted by a blinding light when driving home from a daytrip. They wake up a couple of hours later seemingly unscathed but soon experience recurring nightmares.

It seems that they have been abducted by aliens, as is later proved by their son's Andy's handycam that had suddenly started running right after the incident. This is also discovered by mysterious Men In Black who start nagging the family up to the point of threatening to kill them. As they are laughed at by the police they seek refuge at SciFi-writer Stan Mills' house and start fighting back."

I am addressing, here, an objection to BIASED information - things that are not true.

The scientific consensus is that the Earth's climate system is unequivocally warming, and that it is extremely likely (at least 95% probability) that humans are causing most of it through activities that increase concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, such as deforestation and burning fossil fuels.

The above is from Wikipedia.  So actually, the climate change deniers are those who are trying to propagandize the issue.

We certainly all agree that pollution is not good for humanity or the planet.  We DO know the population is growing and the American middle class polluting lifestyle is the aspiration of most.

Not all information is spin.

Sure.  But we are creating an environment in which we eventually may not be able to survive.  The carbon dioxide that we pump into the atmosphere gets cleaned out, partially, by our oceans.  This is causing acidified oceans, meaning increasing sickness of its creatures and more imbalance.

There is no one but a crazy person who does not want health for him and his family.  It's not just about weather.  We are crapping where we live.  There are reasons why no other animal will do that.

Yes.  So many died in 2004 and 2005.  Does anyone know the 'normal' rate of scientists' deaths?

I don't think, by a long shot, that everything published is true, but as much as Wiki is criticized, I really have not found them retracting a lot.  I think they are pretty reliable and are mainly criticized by those to whom the facts are embarrassing.

Anything to do with climate change in the public arena is spin. There's a ton of money being made using the fear tactics. For example, Al Gore used the very worst predictions he could find in his movie, well beyond the bell curve of the general consensus of science. Why? Because no one wants to see a horror movie that isn't all that scary. Al Gore made a tidy sum from his scare piece and taught the media to sensationalize everything related to the subject of climate change.

But that's not what I meant. I know climate change is occurring and it's very likely to be due to carbon dioxide emissions. My point is that while everyone engages in the "we're all gonna die!" stuff against the "it's not happening!" stuff in a completely useless public debate on climate change, there are thousands of engineers out there working on technological solutions and some of them are getting close to fruition.

It's just like Y2k. While everyone freaks out, there are people working on it and the disaster will be averted.

That's true.  We've exported so much of our industry to China.  Now we appear to be looking cleaner (even with fewer jobs) and China appears to be the culprit.  Actually, I think Delhi, India, is dirtier than China.  Yes, people walk in certain areas with masks on their faces.  Doctors tell patients that moving is the best thing they can do for their sick children.  There is a high incidence of lung problems.

On a brighter side, India seems to be curbing their population growth.
