George's ghostwriter for all his books -- except the cookbook -- is Bill Birnes. Bill set up the multi-book deal at Tor/Forge, a huge and wonderful publisher. I did the cookbook while also writing a fiction for Noory called Nero Blaze. It was to be a time-travel novel, and in old C2C shows, you'll hear him talk about it here and there. I was in Chapter 38 of a 42-chapter ms. when George cancelled everything with one terse email. Including another book in the queue beyond the ones we're talking about here.

So, I am to blame for the cookbook, not Bill.

Two questions...

1.) What was Noory's given reason for cancelling the NERO BLAZE book?

2.) Why weren't you credited on the cookbook?

Hey Art, even though money is not your primary objective, have you considered making your next entrance into the broadcast arena as a non-profit? I ask this because it will allow you to keep a sizable majority of your revenue which you can reinvest in the Art Bell Broadcasting Project. It's been done before, and I'm relatively sure you've heard about it - it's a most excellently executed business model. Art, they're talking about a scantly 110 million viewers. Surely broadcast radio listners can see and double their numbers worldwide (people and dollars).  LET'S RIDE THIS?

The Real Super Bowl Question: Should The NFL Be A Nonprofit?

The National Football League takes in more than $9.5 billion per year and is exempt from Federal taxes. As a nonprofit, it earns more than the Y, the Red Cross, Goodwill, the Salvation Army or Catholic Charities â€" yet it stands as one of the greatest profit-generating commercial advertising, entertainment and media enterprises ever created.

For the love of Richard Sherman, how can this be?

NFL takes aim at $25 billion, but at what price?: For the NFL to reach its revenue goal by 2027, fans, broadcasters and sponsors will have to pay more and more

NEW YORK (Jan. 31) â€" Sunday's Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., might be the most popular and expensive television program in U.S. history â€" about 110 million viewers watching a football game that commands nearly $4 million for a 30-second commercial.

Tickets at the 50-yard line cost about $10,000. A 20-ounce cup of Bud Light will cost $14.

"Nothing is really sacred anymore," said John Vrooman, a sports economics professor at Vanderbilt University.

Just because others do something amoral, doesn't mean Art should.  The NFL eats up and spits out players, just look at how many suffer from CTE.  Art can decide for himself, but I say leave it to him how he does business.

rzr1911

almost everything should really be non-profit.
why pay the government a share of your income?
it's modern slavery / serfdom.

Two very excellent questions.

1.) Noory said some very personal hurtful things about the writing that I'd rather not share right now. Too soon. Too idiotic, even for Dave.

2.) The editor of both books, who had been guiding the novel along, took my name off the cookbook. He also took Bill's thank-you to me from the final product. Don't know why. We loved that editor and we haven't spoken since.

Art

hey art will you interview some muslim people on your new show? lots of people are writing books about djinns and stuff recently. how about getting some buddhist and tao people on to talk about tulpas and shit

someguy

in this current climate of things you'd get tons of listeners and get a crazy reputation by interviewing an islamic person about djinns and possessions and whatnot

Art:

Before you make an announcement maybe you could give us a warning? You know, big announcement this Friday or whatever. It would give all of us a chance to be here on the board when it happens. I'll bet there will be a record number of viewers on line. Maybe the announcement will be on facebook first? Either way this is really exciting!

It would be great if knapp and deacon Punnet could fill in for you when needs be.

I wonder what kind of contract George Knapp has? Is he freelancing on CtC? I'm sure they won't let him host Art's new show.

It would be really nice to hear Ian host again. Maybe Art will have them as guests someday?

You're quick on the draw there, and that's the best "that's what she said" ever.
