You've just made Falkie's decade.

Ha!

I hope his fragile heart holds out. Congratulations Falkie on your personal shoutout from the future PodFather.

Chaim

@Art: can you give an ETA about when do you think your negotiations are complete and you finally can give some details about your upcoming show, or who the big player is?

Faulkie singing Waterloo has stuck in my mind for a dozen posts now.
Maybe BELLGAB users can do some sort of strange conglomeration just like the stars did for BAND AID in the 80s..
I also often think of Letterman's NBC anniversary shows where he mocked that concept with 'late night world of love.' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iu5W3L0w3w#t=3927)

But I think we can do it.
MV, next show, can you open lots of lines so we can all join together live during the PODCAST and sing Dancing Queen?

And clearly since Art wishes, Faukie will lead the song..

This music thing may never work out so I have decided to hire Falkie who will simply sing my bumpers on request.

Art
Sounds good to me.  Looking forward to "Dancing Queen" as done by  Falkie.

Good to see you again Popple!

"Lay lady lay" by Falkie would be my choice.

To further MV's argument on why Art should go back on the radio

"Terrestrial radio still reaches 92% of Americans, and only 15% listen to podcasts.'

Internet radio/podcast can be very lucrative for a select few broadcasters, that have an established loyal fan base.
The unknown for Art, is the number of 'free stream' established fans and how many of them will become paid subscribers.

If there are enough paid subscribers to make it worthwhile, there wouldn't be a need for Terrestrial Radio, to build a larger fan base.
In fact, that would most like be counter productive for Art, at this stage in his life; to many hassles with terrestrial radio, compared to the simplicity of Internet/Podcast.

If the number of paid subscibers make it lucrative enough, Art's show hopefully will have legs. If the numbers aren't there, Art can 'retire' without any large expenditure of time and capital.

Falkie just had a heart attack, ha haa.  Frustrating day, Art?  Must be in the air, me too.

I see Keith has a posting, well it's true, other then talking to Jimmy Church one time on the phone when he said it would be a one time thing (going on coast) I have never spoken to the guy and sure never heard his show. He seems to think we shared the same Birth Canal or something based on what he has been telling people.

Keith Rowland stating the facts on Timmy Chuch and Art's partnership. From the Dark Matter page:

It seems the right time to set the record straight regarding Jimmy Church leaving Dark Matter Radio Network.

First of all, while Fade to Black was the most popular show on the network, Jimmy was not a “sit-in” for Art Bell. In fact Art Bell never heard of Jimmy, never asked him to sit in, nor ever contacted or talked to Jimmy in his entire tenure on DMRN, except for one conference call discussing Jimmy’s appearance on C2C. Art has never listened to Jimmy Church and has no idea what kind of show he does.

It appears to us, that ever since Jimmy’s one-time “DMRN Promoting” appearance on C2C and was asked to decide between continuing on DMRN or going over to C2C, he was planning to leave DMRN, and never discussed this with me. Jimmy just called up one Sunday night and told me he wanted to move to Spreaker, eventually iHeart and Coast 2 Coast. He felt that was a way for him to further his career. I agreed it would be good for him, but wished he gave me a chance to fill the large void he would leave in the schedule.

We talked about a 2-4 week transition period. Which if the move was kept secret, would work, but since Jimmy wanted to use our station to promote his move, and would be announcing his upcoming change to iHeart / Clear Channel and eventual appearance on Coast to Coast, there was no way I could ethically continue his show on DMRN. I left it up to him to decide. He could wait until he had more prepared for his move and continue on DMRN, while I too prepare for replacement shows. Jimmy decided to announce his move on his website that night. So he decided to leave us in a predicament, we did not boot him off.

If you hear any other statements that you may question the validity of (and there are), regarding this matter, please don’t hesitate to contact us, so we can set the record straight.

Ha! The only show of Jimmys that I found entertaining was the interview with John B. Wells.  That and the Linda Howe episode.

I think Jimmy's trying to crawl up George's birth Canal.

You got to give Jimmy some credit he did once say this:

George Noory:  The best fall to sleep material on earth...better than Ambien.  No joke.  Honestly, I have NEVER gotten through a show.  When I first heard him on air after Art I was pretty angry and have never gotten over it...I thought that a show like C2C was able to search the country and come up with somebody that was great...there is a lot of talent out there...I was shocked when I first heard Noory...I remember thinking at the time: "this is it??? this is what we've got??? are you kidding me???"...but, Herbalife has their spokesman and Clear Channel is happy.  Ever wonder where Gaiam TV tapes their show???  I'll bet the farm it's in the Herbalife offices at Nokia Live in downtown Los Angeles.

Get lost Davebot.

Probably cheaper to hire ABBA and a few other singers plus a band and record your own version of your favorite songs, than to pay the music mafia for years without end.
