I've seen mention of "torrents" on BellGab. So moments ago, I  googled  "torrents", it sounds as though it's way over my tech abilities. Also, isn't it risky for one to expose their computer to torrents, i.e. viruses and such?
Is their an easier way for me, (aside from TuneIn which I already use), to obtain, or download lots of shows safely?
The torrent themselves are perfectly safe. The only real risk is using shady torrent sites that try to fool you into downloading some third party client or is full of malware ads/scripts. As long as you download it from a safe site and it does contain actual audio files then there should not be any risk.

Exactly, as I mentioned as long as the source is legit you are fine. And true, don't use a third party client full of malware and ads.

Art Bell is a recursive sack of shit. Over and over again. Same pattern and the same stupid people fall for it. I fell for it again this time. He's an ass.

I realized after watching a few interviews with Noory that maybe Noory wasn't the problem. Maybe, Art was the problem and always was the fucking problem. Art has spit that mantra year after year that George is some nefarious little mustachioed man that hides in the shadows and fucks his shit up.

Art fucks his own shit up.

Art Bell is Art Bell's stalker.

He sabotages his own radio programs.

:) Hi I am new here and this is my first post. But I am not new to Art Bell or his podcast and also listen to Gabcast now and then.

The thing I liked about Art Bell was the way the put things into perspective like a normal person then a host. And this voice was unique so yes, I will miss hearing his voice and thoughts on everything.

Yet, no one is there for permanent, and I think we should move on and for now I am listening to Howard Hughes from theunexplained.tv and who has also a great voice and commentary.

Though Art is the best. I wish he would continue but without the drama.

There is another program called Soulseek, which is basically like Napster back in the day. Some people on there have a good collection of old Art Bell shows.  Torrents are safe an a preferred option to get a lot of shows in one big digest, but SLSK is good if you are looking for one particular show.

can confirm
source: I've been using Soulseek for years, it's one of the first things I install on a fresh system. The stuff that can be found there can be epic.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but with torrents you are agreeing to allow your PC to be used to store data and later transmit that data when another user requests it. For example, software, either legal, or else, illegally pirated programs. A small piece of it would be on your PC and the rest spread across possibly hundreds of other PCs.

In exchange, you get to download free stuff. Some people do torrents, others find the whole arrangement risky and ethically problematic in many cases. I'm in the latter group.

That is why I liked him as a host. I am mainly a skeptic on most paranormal things and the one thing he did well was draw you into the story almost like telling a ghost story by a campfire, unlike many other paranormal show that seem to think "If you don't believe this, you are a fucking idiot."

I would like to second that. I have never seen anything paranormal in my life though I have experienced amazing spiritual stuff.

Sort of. Basically you download a torrent to download files. When that download is completed you "seed" it, letting others download it from you, but that only happens if the torrent program you use  is open and you keep the torrent file, which can be deleted at any time after the download is completed. It doesn't keep "seeding" when the program is closed.

There exists a substantial amount of worthy content that isn't owned by Disney (yet). But maybe you watched all of that already.

Slavishly sucking at the teats of the whorish corporate media is totally safe and ethical!

And as I understand it, the people at torrents websites think it pretty uncool if someone signs on to download free stuff and then doesn't return the favor by allowing their PC to service other users. It's a two-way street, so people should understand what they're getting into. Particularly since some of these sites are run by scammers.

Aye, matey, it 'tis. Prepare another broadside and prepare to board. There's booty to be had.

You will only "spread" pieces of the torrent you actually downloaded and nothing else and that is only until you close/stop the torrent.

A the very start of the show she teased that she would have this HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT and in the end it turned out to be just a annoucement of a guest...

It's my understanding that Chris Carter will be on Monday night.

I am genuinely curious as to what you see as the distinction between the two.

I hope he talks incessantly about Vince Gilligan. I know, I know: equally relevant.

Look, look, read, read, I'll be honest: I don't know jack or shit about the promotional run-up to this prestigious relaunch. However, unless it is markedly different from any other, Chris Carter is going to be whoring his ass off to as many corporate whores as his corporate pimps can line up on Electric Avenue, until the hoi polloi can't take anymore--and then, three days more.

If Carter bothers to ensure he knows the alleged surname of the host, rest assured it'll be because he thinks she sounds hot. Because she does. Like there's anything wrong with that.

Guys, my torrent is full of ads for some company called TaintCo.

You think Heather and the MITD crew would lead the listeners on?  That's pretty cynical, man.

In fairness, she's a product of her environment.  Art used to do the same thing.  The sad part here is few people under the age of forty even know who Chris Carter is, or why having him as a guest on an internet radio program would be considered "special".

You sound like the defence counsel for a delinquent teenager! I don't think she can really be blamed for playing the few cards she has. Chris Carter is a pretty reasonable 'get', even if it isn't twenty years ago, and I am sure the target audience will be interested - I don't think a lot of people under 40 are probably listening anyway.
