Shit like this makes one think about some ugly possibilities.

        Maybe Art did suck.

With all due respect, Elflord sounds like a nutjob or is the greatest troll in the history of the internet. With that said, no offense.

You must be new to the web? :D

He isnt even in the top 100.

Page 200. Perhaps this has some cosmic significance. As Art Bell would probably surmise is he was still on the air, this could be part of the Quickening.

Oh, hell no.  I'm a real musician, playing real instruments.  And, as a trained musician, I know I have no business singing.Ha.

Out of curiousity, who's the girl in the picture and where can I get the toy gun for my gf ?

As an aside, I was looking up books tonight and don't know how I missed the one below which seems to be now almost impossible to find.

I found one on Amazon in Germany for $ 44 ! .

Did this book come and go so fast that no one bought it ? I'd never heard of it and I listened to AB every night back then. How did I miss this one ?

:-\

Someone mentioned in another thread about autographed AB books. Here's a picture of one I found in the last week on Ebay which is for sale.

I have never heard of that book before. Art is a co-author?

Falkie2013

Art wrote The Quickening with Brad Steiger. I have both hb & paperback copies of it, The Art of Talk and The Source on my shelf.

But I am still puzzled how I missed the one he wrote with Whitley.

It came out in 1999 and I listened to Art every night back then.

:-[

Maybe I was too tired with working graveyard. I know at one point I wound up working 30 days straight with several double shifts back then.

Just realized The Source had 2 different covers on it. I've been re-reading it at night before I go to sleep. I now have 14 bookcases in here and I've read everything & am running out of stuff to read that's new. I do have this huge stack of books to be read but there's only so much time any more.

sigh ...

30 years ago tons of new books came out that were cheap. Now everything is either in hb or old books redone as trade paperbacks for $ 14.95 or more and few new paranormal books seem to reach the bookstores. WWII is always a big seller though, tons of those books seem to come out every month.

I found this on Ebay. I didn't KNOW there was an Art Bell watch.

Hmm, how about an Art Bell fan cave sign ?

Not a toy gun. One of the hot things in the Obama-caused gun-purchase craze now is pink AR-15s (Civilian M-16s/M-4s) for those who want to feel pretty with their gat. I kid you not. But there are always the AirSoft guns, which to me seem grotesquely overpriced.

I too have never heard of that Art Bell/Whitley Strieber book called The Edge.

I also listened to Art everynight for years and I have never heard him mention it. I have heard him mention all his other book multiple times over the years but never this one.

The only book he co-wrote with Whitley was The Coming Global Superstorm so unless it is that book (or another one of his) renamed I'm calling it a fake.

Is Art Bell really coming back?  Is Premiere Radio totally out of ideas to milk this Noory bitch for another 10 years?  ;D

No. Yes.

Falkie2013

While my heart longs for the return of AB,  I must reluctantly be a realist, which I hate.

A substantial portion of people have NO idea who he is, who he was and why he was and is important to both radio history and paranormal investigations.

IF he should come back, I think he had better do it within the next year at the most or it isn't ever going to happen.

As for Premiere having new ideas to milk the fraud of Snoory, at some point with stations declining, they WILL replace him with another host.

IF the suits who own or run the network have any sense, which I doubt considering they keep renewing Snoory's contract.

Even so, George Noory will always suck.

Yes, no matter what Premiere does or doesn't do, George Noory Sucks.

Of course, they COULD shock everyone and replace Snoory with Art Bell, couldn't they ?

Or give AB a competing show on the weekend.

After I get off here and before I go to bed, I'll inbox Whitley and find out for sure and let everyone know and post what he says on here with his permission.

Amazon says its available on the German Amazon website. I don't know if it is in German or English. I've written Amazon.de an email to try to get it. Apparently its almost impossible to find, I've found references to the book in Australia, the US and elsewhere but ...

I can read a little German and speak a little German and understand some, but unlike the rest of the members of my family who speak fluent German, my Mother never bothered to teach ME German. * grump *

Two bestselling authors offer a unique perspective, combine their knowledge and create a view that will challenge, excite and inform readers. This insightful work reveals the truth about humanity's past: proof that homoerectus was traveling by sea 800,000 years ago, new revealing details about the Sphinx, The Platform at Baalbek, and other ancient structures. The book also explores incredible little-known sciences of today, such as how small physical objects can be teleported into the next decade, and predicts the future of humanity from a technical, scientific and social viewpoint, eg.: the effects of increasing population, global weather changes, nanotechnology, cloning, and quantum communication.

I find it very strange that i have never heard of this book mentioned by Art. I have shows stretching from 1994 to 2010 and I have not heard him once mention this book whilst i have heard him talk about every other book.

Knowing Art, he would not want to promote something too hard if he didn't write any of it.  Just conjecture, but perhaps his involvment with the book was in name only.
On a slightly unrelated matter, before Art "quit" Coast, I heard him talk about "The Art of Talk" almost dismissively as though he was glad it was out of print.

Well, the mystery deepens.

Here's the official word from Whitley Streiber himself.

I'm as mystified as you are. Art and I have never written any such book, so it could be some kind of scam--our names being used. We might have talked about such a book. That sounds like something we might have explored doing, but as it was never written, it's hard to understand why it's on offer somewhere for $44.00. I'll look into it.

It's really weird that this book is listed as an actual printed book with an isbn number and everything and that Amazon says its for sale.

And that several sites say the book is available yet no copies exist.

Will keep you appraised of any new news from Whitley.

It's a hoax but a weird one.

I'm wondering if it isn't just transcripts of interviews from the show, maybe published under the radar in Germany.

EDIT: Maybe it's from the future and a time traveler left it behind?

Huh.  I must say this is pretty odd.  I thought at first it was perhaps just some international publishing kookiness, maybe something to do with The Quickening getting an odd back and forth translation.  But, that summary obviously cancels out that theory!

How weird.  I love the below explanation!

A time traveler from the future perhaps. .Shame on you Dexter Monteray!

Great to see Fort Rock back and oh look, he's brought his little friend with him. How sweet!

I'm checking out Ground Zero, but this show is just barely listenable. No, the heirs of Art are Tim Binnall, Alejandro Rojas' UFO think tank, Red Ice Radio, Radio Misterioso, and of course, Whitley Strieber. These are all available free on iTunes.
