Sounds like one of the old Mel's hole shows now.

"I have to think back to almost 6 ½ years ago during a very cold season, where I was working on a hobby programming project to allow friends to upload a playlist for an online radio station and have those air automatically on a specific schedule. I got busy with work and pretty much abandoned the project, however I left a small playlist of art bell streams running. Never thought about it again for about 2 years, when I was trying to figure out what the hell was happening with the bandwidth on my server. Then I realized that a LOT of people where tuning in. I downloaded some additional tracks and people sent me a bunch of tracks and the rest is history.
Recently, I was asked by premiere radio/iHeartMedia to take it all down. I did, I was a bit snarky and had a bit of a back and forth with a iHeartmedia paralegal, but in the end, their claims ended up being 75% of the playlist (they never did produce any documentation over ownership of some of the super old stuff). However there is a lot of other stuff that get aired on stream as well. Either way, a time has come to pass the torch. Some friends overseas are taking over and will continue to run U7 Radio, including the existing shows (with some new shows). Unfortunately, the Monday Metal Curator is MIA, so the Monday program will likely be replaced shortly.
I am extremely please to announce…. The passing of the torch, and U7 Radio under new ownership streaming from a remote location offshore.
I cannot thank the community enough for their support over the years and particularly the past 2 weeks.
Thanks and Cheers!"

Right.  That was my access point.  Bet Noory and crew came in their pants when service was interrupted for a moment.  Imagine their collective, "Oh Noes!"
They were like

Under new ownership. Art bought it.

So it says "Under new ownership, streaming live and direct from the shores of... huh?"  Romania? Good move!

Whoa, popple.  I don't mind taking one for the team, but letting Dave go down on me?  There just isn't enough Scotch in the friggin' world!

Art sounds genuinely concerned.  I've always thought it was real.

I agree. Art's concern was definitely real. I was never convinced that the call was.

I'm confused. Is this the anouncement?

Heather Wade

Art Bell is the only talk show host people would go through this much trouble to listen to.

Yeah, U7 is staying up that is the big thing.

jazmunda

I hope it was Spec Sheet caller Vlad who has taken over U7. ;)

Dave's paralegal is going to go through the Romanian phone book now and call all the Vlad's in Romania.

Yes. Art is Romanian. :P

bateman

This amuses me greatly.

OldTimeRadio

Wasn't Art supposed to make some announcement tonight?

BattyBrooke

Someone explain to me like I'm five. So the anouncement was to be from U7 (not Art) and it was that it is under new ownership overseas and therefore will, much to other's dismay, be able to continue streaming all the Art Bell shows it always has? And this is big because we don't lose access to the old shows AND it is a kick in the nuts to Noory?

Maybe. You could get that ragging hard on you desire... but you could also go blind in the process.

Viagra?  What do you think all those little blue floaters are in my Scotch?  Ice?

Hope whoever bought it uses a VPN or TOR to connect and pays in bitcoin...

if the stream host is in a country that doesn't care about DMCA notices, it won't matter how payment happens.
