George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium

Started by MV/Liberace!, April 06, 2008, 12:23:02 AM

Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

No
No
That's it - I'm out. Just tuned in to the Fine Art stream on the Tunein app. Art is interviewing Barbara and Brendan from the Ghost Investigators Society.

Bmassie

the first two calls had george interrupting every few words with him trying to guess the ending of their stories.the third guy was talking about shadow rodents and oddly noory has not said anything so far once zero interruptions on a subject snoorys loves how odd, dudes story went nowhere.....so far this is just as bad as any friday night, the callers sound like they have been drinking.

Morgus

Yep just as expected - Noory just said on the air that he would have special 'Halloween moments' tonight between the callers with special regular past c2c guests.
The G2G tradition with Art Bell was callers all night only - no guests at all, and very little comments by the host.
Noory spits on the grave of the old Ghost-To-Ghost and even has the announcers tonight calling it "Ghost to Ghost with George Noory" like he owns it and created it, how sickening...

Is it any wonder why Art wanted his name expunged from the website?

And another thing: C2C AM without Ross Mitchell is like American Top 40 without Casey Kasem.

Noory just had his first 'Halloween moment' with a regular guest, Rosemary Ellen Guiley.
And it wasn't just for a minute, she was on for almost 10 minutes - so if he keeps this up with a guest every hour, that will cut down the actual callers so its more like 2 hours of real callers.
And even with the callers, Noory is butting in a lot and interrupting or even trying to complete a caller's story before the caller finishes, plus he keeps making stupid sounds like "oooo" and "ahhh" while the caller is talking...

George never really learned the definition of most words so a 'moment' for George is not a brief interval of time.  It's just sumpthin' he thinks he's heard other people use for filler - he probably thinks it means 'story'.

George is down to about 2 dozen literate lissners, and only about half of them have computers - he probably got about 3 ghost stories sent in before the show.

Noory is now adding prizes on tonight's show, he just gave a caller a free CC-Radio and then did a short promo for that sponsor.
He must think Halloween includes gifts like Christmas?

I'm observing Festivus tonight. Let the airing of grievances begin!!!

Morgus

Coming up on the last half-hour segment of Noory's G2G.
He just mentioned he will also be playing his old recorded reading of a short story "The Inexperienced Ghost" that he has played on the air many times before.
Thats reducing the number of live G2G callers even further.
Adding more to the 'travesty' of Noory's new G2G.
Drive a stake in the heart of G2G, its dead for sure now...

KMKMKM

great, finishing the show with a pre-recorded story.  This is the worst Ghost to Ghost ever.  I don't think there were more than a dozen callers.

What? No phony ouija board stunt that ends with a guest pleading George not to do it? Too bad I missed it -- I was listening to Art.  :P

Scully

Just needed to add my two cents here.  Definitely THE worst Ghost to Ghost ever.  So bad I was moved to send no less than 2 fastblasts and 2 private emails (Coast Insider) to George during the show.  I have never been THAT disgusted before.  First hour was the usual gloom and doom about world events.  Then he giggled like a little girl throughout the only good parts, which were the callers' stories.  Last half hour he read to us as if we were the 4 year olds he most relates to.

Shoot me, shoot me now.  :P

Morgus

Noory's G2G format was almost identical to his typical Friday night shows.
He had the same first hour - with a guest and some news reports.
Then he had effectively at most two hours with callers, since he included a few guests as well.
Plus he did his usual cutting out early, leaving the last half-hour to an old pre-recorded reading of a short story.
Overall result: very lame, even for Noory...

coaster

I listened to some old G2G with Art instead of tuning into Noory. The only thing scary about Noory's show tonight is seeing his name alongside "Ghost to Ghost". G2G should of retired along with Art Bell. Noory ruins everything he touches.

Bmassie

oh god i hope no one tuned in expecting a good show.we all knew it was gona bad but this was just awful i could bearly keep intrest and turned it off after the second hour glad i did, would have spit juice all over my monitor when the precorded book reading came on.This bullshit is unimaginable and that guys 12 callers estimate really breaks my heart im sure they where all rushed off the line practically hung up on mid sentence once half way thur their story.

George brags about his 40 years of broadcast echsh-perience and how he knows what makes and what does not make for a good show.   Anyone with a different opinion is a hater.

Guess that makes me a hater with extreme prejudice.

The least Georgie Porgie could have done was have Lionel Fanthorpe do the reading.

Juan

It was awful.  Maybe the reason for so few callers is that the show has so few callers.

Hahahahah..... I was wondering if Noory would put the rotten cherry on top with "Mr. Springheel Jack" himself.  Must be saving that "treat" for next year, if Nooron can last that long.

Glad I missed the expected disaster.  I wonder if Nooron disappeared early to show-up at a Halloween karaoke fest, dressed as Elvis, or just had to join Tommy for some pumpkin pancakes at IHOP.

I opted for the fineartstream. And don't regret it

Art's last C2C appearances were exactly 2 years ago, his pre-screened(which annoyed him) "Ghost to Ghost". To me, that should have been the last Ghost to Ghost. This is not Art's C2C anymore, it's firmly Noory's...and having him utterly ruin Art's traditions serves nobody for the better. It's like Sammy Hagar singing "Jump", dude, don't remind us that the person we really want is gone.
It would be so much better if Ghost to Ghost and New Year's predictions were put to bed until Art's return....

Don't tell me you of all people have joined the ranks of the Stay Tuned Cult!?

Glad I skipped Snoor 2 Snoor last night, from what I've heard so far.

Listening to stuff like this at 2 AM was much more terrifying than any Halloween "tradition" Georgie could shit out.

"Squidward's Suicide"

What a travesty. What an exercise in cynicism that was. The crew at C2C was so just phoning it in. Is there no one at C2C who gives a shit about the product they're selling? I can't believe the suits don't see what's going on with this. With this kind of miserable effort by the host, there has to be a hemorrhage in numbers and ads.

Is there a warm body somewhere that we can reach to tell this to? Not Tommy or George of course: their interest is in keeping the status quo. But for all the money broadcast companies pay to know how they're perceived by the public, it would look like there's someone at C2C or its owner who would welcome free opinions about how C2C is doing.

Thanks. I know it was an exercise in futility but I just sent this to the feedback email, for Tom and George to look at before they shitcan it.

-----"I'm almost speechless. What a miserable performance the Ghost-to-Ghost show was. I pretty much quit listening a year ago, when I could finally take no more of George Noory's gross incompetence as a host. But I listened last night because it was Halloween, and how can you screw up Ghost-to-Ghost? Well, the surprise is on me, because George and Tom found a way to fail even on Halloween.

The CoastToCoast staff could hardly have made clearer that they're just "phoning it in". Who in the world thought Halloween Night was the perfect time to open the show with a segment on the New World Order and global conspiracies? And whose bright idea was it to turn so much of the wonderful live calls of Ghost-To-Ghost, a tradition for over 20 years, into segments of prerecorded codswallop? Was it just so George wouldn't have to handle more than a minimum amount of the live calls he obviously fears and detests? Or was it to give George one more chance to slip away early from a job he clearly doesn't care about any more?

Listen, CoastToCoast is in such serious decline that it can't be hidden any more. If the people who own Coast can't get the staff excited enough to put on a good, interesting and lively show on Halloween, then there's no hope for the show, and you should sell while you can still snooker some rubes out there. I don't know what's been going on, but the sense that Coast is a sinking ship is palpable. Somebody other than the host and the producer and staff needs to be paying attention, because you've just about reached the point where the show can't be revived."-----

[Okay, I lied about having only quit listening a year ago. I figured I wouldn't have any chance at all of being read if I told 'em I quit a few years ago.]

Oh, please stop - I just don't think I can take any more foolish hope.

A sincere "good luck," Sardondi.  I'll be surprised if you get anything more than a short, generic response or some "happy crap" letter with "problem???... We don't see no problem."  If that.

I can still see the smoke rising from the crater of what used to be C2C, after last night.  I hope Noory and Tommy enjoyed their pancakes.  ::)

stevesh

And on it goes. One of tonight's guests is Ty Bollinger, Carnivora snake oil pimp extraordinaire. What in the world makes the C2C producers think this assclown has any credibility left ?
