A kindred spirit. My cringing response to spelling errors - okay, any errors - is no doubt a result of my Calvinist-tinged youth, courtesy of my Headmaster, the Reverend David Pottie, C of S, Major, RAF, retired, whose usual form of address to any student was "You miserrrrrrrable sinnerrrrr!", and who treated any of our mistakes as evidence of a sinfulness that had us with one foot on a banana peel before the deepest pit of Hell. Consequently even today I often find myself blushing at spelling and punctuation errors, and have to fight the compulsion to confess and correct it.

Wow, the power of conditioning!

I sipmly justeefy eny splelnig orrers as the heathly evulotion of langwage.

McPhallus

David Pottie?  Must've been at least a couple good jokes from that name.

Reminds me of a professor back in grad school, "Dr. Gay Leathers."

That was her name (no shit).

He said his school days were sheer hell...which he revisited on us. Not quite as bad as "Wrrrroooo-oooong! Do it again!", but close.

Kindred, indeed. My brother and I were educated in Canada by the ultra strict Irish Christian Brothers and Sisters of St. Joseph. So I weep with ya, brotha. To this day their "Catholic conditioning" is still etched in our sinful souls, even though we stopped drinking the Vatican Inc. juice years ago. I go into fits whenever I make grammatical errors, and all thanks to "habits" inflicted upon me as an impressionable Catholic school girl.

Noory sucks.

Morgus

Noory is now recalling his own personal memories of watching Apollo 11 and astronaut Neil Armstrong on the moon on TV with his father.
He also told of happening to run into astronaut Buzz Aldrin recently.
Noory seems to run into a lot of famous folks, a coincidence?

Shockwave

Gee, that was a swell Armstrong tribute.

Surprisingly, the Hoaxster was completely absent.

Guest Dr. Carmen Blahblah: "...and the car flipped over and over and was totaled, and when they pulled my son's friend out, not a scratch, so there was definitely an angel present."

George: "And what happened to your son?"

Guest Dr. Carmen Blahblah: "Dead."

George: "Oh, I'm sorry."

Great! Unlucky for Blahblah's son that he managed to catch a slightly incompetent angel. A rooky out of his depth, perhaps. But I guess angels are only, erm, angelic after all. I wonder if he/she/it just didn't have time to call for back-up or if they can only manage to save one mortal at a time and either tossed the angelic equivalent of a coin to decide which one or just didn't like the cut of Blahblah Jnr's jib.

FYI - Sounds like "The Best of George Noory" has been discontinued from XM/Sirius Satellite Radio in favor of a show called Ground Zero.  Noory was on for an hour or two every weeknight beginning at 10:00 ET.  Maybe somebody already posted this, I don't read the forum much anymore, I mean Noory Sucks, you know it, I know it, I'm pretty sure he even knows it, but time to move on...

Cheers

Yep, here's the website:

I'll try not to "judge a book by it's cover" but Clyde makes John B. Wells look like Cary Grant.  :o

The next thing Stanton Friedman says that is worth listening to will be the first. He is background noise in love with the sound of his own voice.

One of his books was on sale at a local library branch for a grand total of 50 cents.

I still passed. Didn't want to waste 50 cents, or the slightest bit of space that book would take up.

WOTR

I really forgot how much I dislike George as I have not turned him on for awhile.  Tonight he told his atheist guest that he knows one thing... he knows that there is no God in the clouds with a white beard surrounded by angels with harps... He came to THAT (said in a condescending tone) conclusion years ago!

What a spineless, useless waste of skin when he cannot even admit to the guest his deepest held beliefs.  He would make an excellent politician considering how flexible his belief system is... no doubt that when the next guest talking about angels and God is on he will be back to telling us all about angels.

***As an afterthought, we also learn about Georges charitable side this evening.  Apparently, he went to a place called (the city of hope???) which is a cancer treatment clinic to talk to them about things like turmeric.  What a humanitarian. ::)

Howard Bloom usually has something interesting to say, and tonight was no exception, except as usual, Simple George insisted on turning it into a 'debate' about Intelligent Design. He even asked Bloom about his current fixation - how can there be water on the earth that sustains all the species here if it wasn't designed that way ? IT'S THE OTHER WAY AROUND, YOU IDIOT ! THE SPECIES EVOLVED HERE BECAUSE OF THE WATER. The Intelligent Design people assume that humans and other living things were inevitable in their current forms, so someone/something must have manipulated the enviornment to that end. Stupidity.

Unfortunately, Bloom didn't do a good enough job of explaining the process to Noory, and seemed oddly eager to kiss Norry's ass last night.

I'm trying to imagine how a cancer treatment hospital that bills itself as 'one of the best in the country' could invite an assclown like Noory to speak about anything, much less health-related topics. Wonder if they're affiliated with Sean David Morton's 'clinics' in Mexico ?

I was driven crazy by Noory responding to Bloom's occasional 'Good God' or 'Oh, my God' with an asinine giggle and a triumphant 'You said God again!!' I already wanted to reach into my iPhone and slap him very hard and often. When he came up with his 'isn't it amazing that we need water so the planet gives us rain' mantra. I batted off an email to him. Thusly:

"There really is no depth to your dumbness, is there? You seem to cling to an odd picture of cosmology which is barely Sunday School level. All things bright and beautiful. Isn't it amazing you say, that we and everything on the planet needs water to survive, and lo! the planet knows this and brings us rain. Does it not occur to you that life on this wet planet has evolved to live in the conditions in which it finds itself?
How about oxygen? We need that to exist, right? That and other gases, but mostly oxygen. Except that there's a problem. Oxygen is poisonous. Rust. Oxide. Etc. We have evolved biological mechanisms to turn the ever-present oxygen to our advantage. The fact is we have learned to live in a hostile environment.
Please try and lift your thought processes out of the kindergarten."

It will be ignored, of course, but it at least allowed me to go to bed without needing to kill something. He is an insult to human intelligence.

But I think Georgy Porgy has discovered a new magical spice, because the word I heard struggling to escape from the Stroke Mouth was 'TOORMERACK', it's a new one on me.

Did anyone hear him, discussing the pyramids with Dr Carmen Blahblah, ask her what she thought were the intentions of the 'architexts'?

George Snoory is a schmaltzy schlocky shlemiel schmutz klutz shmendrik schmuck schlock who shleps and schmoozes his way through his spiel and shtick whilst giggling like a ten year old gentile Yente. He is oysgeshpilt and a Bulbenik and he gives me the chalushes. His interviews are a mishmash of chazzerai and he comes across as a davkanist who dribbles drek. Ech! He is not a mentsh; he is batshit meshagas who is full of chutzpah and needs to be tossed out on his tuches. Stop ootzing me, George Noory!

About Stanton Friedman, I don't understand the animosity. He is as far as I have listened is the most rational about UFO subjects. He doesn't present mystical fabrications. He sticks pretty much to the dry and tedious task of research. Does he conflate? I am not sure, if he does it is to a much lesser extent than anyone else in the same subject matter. Does he retell the same stories? yeah but compared to what else is presented from noory's guests I find his retellings more interesting than Sylvia the witch.

Friedman is a vaudeville act. And as acts of that vintage go, his isn't too bad. Yeah if you saw him 2 years ago his schtick will be the same next year. But I give his weaving of anecdotes more credibility than most of the other guests on c2c.

then again I haven't listened to c2c in well over 2 years and don't mind not listening.

Hahaha...I was going to post the exact thing.  I'm listening to the podcast now and I'm like "WTF?"  Just like the poll at the top of the page asking if George Noory can pronounce anything right; he also pronounces the same word, a different way, several times in any given program.  ::)

TOORMERACK-------TUMMARICK-------TOOMMRICK

I believe there are two different acceptable pronouncations of the word.  George has at least three.  I don't even know why I care.  The stress Noory has caused me has resulted in some inflammation.  Now I have to take my daily 400mg dose of 'ter-mer-ic.'  :D

While being on so late ruins George's whole day, he's very lucky to be on when most people are in bed asleep.
