i think your thoughts are rational and also think 'rambling' thoughts are valuable.  the scope of what there is to consider and to judge or measure being as vast as what they are, 'rambling' isn't a fault, but practically obligatory . . . just to cover their scope.  I appreciate every word. I appreciate any word whatever. Pro or con. They inform my discretion.

And, as often stated, discretion is the better part of valour.

My Achilles' heel (at times) is sound articulation. Most frustrating, I must say. However, if the listener or reader can correctly discern (and take the time to discern), then all the more satisfying, and all the more grateful am I.

Like the ancient Romans and those long before them and after, when supplies of bread run low, glorious circuses (the quintessential euphemism) are created across the globe.

The honest record might be somewhat variant from this saw. Propagating a false report of 'dearth' can drive the value of common things up beyond their actual value. So a lie, by any form of reasoning or for any purpose, is still a lie.  A naive people will, by and large, react to and succumb to such lies rather than expend personal effort to confirm or dis-confirm them . . . to their detriment. Yet once burned, if they survive such a burn, will no longer be naive.  How amazing that naivety returns!  Former experience has somehow been subverted! The obvious suspects are: interference with oral knowledge; some form of 'education' denigrating such information. Ergo: dis-information or dissipative 'information'. Americans broke the back of English forces on "Kings  Mountain". This battle breathed a fresh breath of life into Washington and the American resistance to the arbitrary will of the 'crown'. Yet, how many American children know anything about this? What was the actual impetus of those people? In fact, they were not that keen on Washington.  The King's Mountain event might represent something more important than the modern-day myth as to what the "USA" is thought to be about.  It isn't about an apposite force of power, one good the other bad.  It might be seen to be about the uniquely human quality of disgust for being compelled. Being forced. Being enslaved. Enslaved by circumstances or the wills of equals.  We must object. We will always try to find something else, some escape. Some freedom.  Circumstances might make equals even do what eventually ends up enslaving both parties. Locke, Paine, Jefferson and all those people, including many unsung women thinkers and writers, saw this problem of momentum of prior practices that may have been 'reasonable' in earlier epochs, but which in light of understanding of greater resources than known before, were now defunct.   The same obtains today as obtained before.  If only we could humbly submit to the idea: we are learning and don't know it all. Yet the dogma of prior days has always been: there is an 'all knowing' state. How embarrassing. To think, even their deity, had to learn.

And yet they adamantly profess individuality and rationale whilst denying their responsibility and choices willingly made. Conscious deflection and genuflecting at the altars of a greater cause. Deviation and sociological deviance as social "norms" are subject to multiple definitions and subsequently violated, time and again.

Albeit I mourn and am outraged at the silencing of the voices of women both past and present, I find solace in the presence of the living and breathing anima and animus present in all humans. To a very real extent, the feminine archetype has been heard by ages past and today and tomorrow, through Paine, Jefferson and countless other men. The feminine voice is heard.

Excellent first two hours last night. Mark Edward has written a book about the charlatans and frauds in the psychic and medium communities, and apparently thought he was there to be interviewed by an engaged host who had read his book and wanted to discuss it. Instead, he got Simple George.

Mr. Edward tried hard, but had trouble at times concealing his contempt for Noory, the idiot callers and the whole C2C experience. Several times, he said, "That doesn't have anything to do with my book".

At one point, Noory dragged out his infamous aunt, Shaquille Amygdala, and after Noory explained about who she was, and how she died and that she 'might have solved all these mysteries' if she had lived longer, there was five seconds of dead air, with the guest finally asking, "Hello?". Noory said he was waiting for Mr. Edward to comment on his aunt, which the guest  obviously had no desire to do.

The show ended with Simple George inviting himself to one of Mr. Edward's performances at the Magic Castle. The guest's lack of enthusiasm for that ever happening was palpable.

Classic SG self-obsession, and Mark Edward is my new favorite C2C guest, though I'm sure he'll never be on again.
Last night's show was the absolute BEST in years.  Edwards was kick ass -- despite his somewhat tinny delivery, I think he should host some Coast to Coast shows himself and especially Monday through Friday nights and some Sundays . . . he made George look like an idiot several times and refused to play along with the lame game of kissing George's ass and giving him a pass for being a moron.  Alas, though, I think that's the last time we'll ever hear Mark Edward on Coast to Coast.

by the way... why are all of these c2c shows being posted all over youtube, but we have a few clips here and there on coastgab and it gets us DMCA notices?  fuck premiere radio in its ass.

Gassy Man

I don't get it either.  Maybe youtube pays a fee or something, or maybe there's too much on youtube for people to police . . . either way, I think Premiere can just suck it.

George Noory Sucks!

So do hookers. Like George, they invite their clients - at a cost - to become "insiders".

stevesh

I should have mentioned that the first guest even took the opportunity to dismiss the second guests as frauds, saying that he and others had reproduced their 'seance' without any paranormal abilities. At one point in their interview, Noory asked them if the fact that someone could reproduce their experience meant it wasn't true. This is the guy with the open mind, who 'lets the listeners decide'. Sap.

Because, unlike we 'little haters', Google don't be evil.

Was it Noory's aunt that supposedly passed after a radio fell into her bath tub?  How ironic.  Not to make little of anybody's death, but at least she went quickly with "death by radio," as opposed to Noory's listeners.

I listened to bits and pieces of last night's show and it was indeed a study in contrast.  From skeptic, based-in-reality Edwards to the quack-fest of the final hours.  Edwards did a highly amusing put-down of the Snoorster throughout his session.  It's always good to hear a guest appreciate Snoory for the talent-less charlatan that he is.   Yes, I don't believe Edwards will be back on C2C, no doubt much to his relief.

It'sOver, here's what my feeble brain came up with so far re revised Green Acres lyrics...

Coast to Coast is the place to be
Misinformation is the life for me
Malapropisms spreadin’ out so far and wide
Keep C. Hoagland and place him in formaldehyde

Turmeric is what I need in me
Had quite enough of the Monsanto fields of Tennessee
I just adore Catherine Austin Fitts
Georgie I loathe you get off the air you’re the shits

The hosting chores!
The St. Louis whores!
On the air!
Billy Mumy’s there!

Common sense is leaving me
Goodbye, rationality
Coast to Coast we are there.

Most excellent.  ;D  Turmeric and Billy Mumy.... welcome to Nitwit Noory's World.

George Noory Sucks!

Best part is when George tells the story of his aunt, Sofreaka Caligula (or whatever), and then there are crickets.  Edwards says, "Hello?," and then GN awkwardly says, "I wanted you to react to my aunt story!" or something similar.

Sofreaka Caligula. LOL! I still have "Chaka Khan" stuck in my head.

Today's musical tribute to George Snoory's late Auntie Chaka, who allegedly met her untimely demise when a plugged-in radio fell into her bathtub..with Chaka immersed in her heavenly bath salts.

To McPhallus:

So you think "pod-casts" may be the 'back-fence' or future of sharing info?  What is the ease of tuning into them or how does one to get them? . . . I don't even know what they are. What are they?

They're scattered all over the Internet--like the rest of the media, there's really no central point of distribution anymore.  They're just audio files you can download through various means (iTunes, RSS feeds, various Web sites, etc.)  They range from being near-radio quality shows (with ads) to totally amateur things made by a guy in his spare bedroom with a few hundred dollars worth of recording equipment.  I mention them because they are relatively easy to put together and aren't regulated at all. You'd be amazed at some of the things people say/do on podcasts.

Sardondi

Quote from: Roger on August 24, 2012, 05:52:52 AM...This is not what the USA is based upon. We were, once, brave. Devoted to a belief that kindness and justice and honesty could be a principle of a new culture....

In which universe did any founders write about a form of government based on "kindness" or "honesty"? You're talking about changing the human heart. No government can do that, although it is one of Marxism's dearest-held delusions that moral change is somehow within government's reach. It is because the founders knew the vagaries of the human heart that they developed our representative republic, in which the public good was not left to the whims of the morals of leaders, but were restrained in what they could do by the Constitution and the principle of the primacy of the rule of law.

Quote from: Roger on August 24, 2012, 05:52:52 AM...Yet some still maintain nothing of the kind can proceed without slavery. Imagine that. That's what's still going on.

Okay, this is somehow allegorical, right? Because I don't want to think about what it means if it's intended to be read literally.

Quote from: Roger on August 24, 2012, 05:52:52 AM...Our national creation is not a simple story.  We know this because at one point we came face to face with the dichotomy of two streams of conscience and thought. One stream of thinking lead to a rationalization of separation from a 'Crown'; and the other saw slavery of human beings (or as they justified it, non-human beings) as a reasonable means for wealth . . . crown related or not.

Both streams of thought continue unto this day.

Both streams have their 'champions'.

Huh? Yep, it was Sam Adams and Thomas Paine, who wanted an immediate amputation of the Colonies from Britain; and...and the, uh, other guys who opposed them, and wanted.....uh, slaves. You're confusing the fights and the issues.

Quote from: Roger on August 24, 2012, 05:52:52 AM...Washington, Franklin and Jefferson envisioned an America in which all citizens had grounds enough to grow all they needed and trade and work based on the joy of creation and sharing. Their mortal enemy Hamilton, the foster-father of the Bushes and all the rich-sons-of-bitches wearing blue-suits and red ties wanting to remarry into british monarchy and repatriate into that system of the crown, have continued to push for slavery and class distinctions. A caste system.  One side wanted equal wealth and education highly disparate from the 'old world order', the other side wants the old world order to continue.

Okay, this is fantasy. This line - "Washington, Franklin and Jefferson envisioned an America in which all citizens had grounds enough to grow all they needed and trade and work based on the joy of creation and sharing" - Show me. Because the Worker's Paradise of Creation and Sharing you're talking about appears nowhere in the writings of those men, and indeed never entered their minds. You've obviously confused the founding of the United States of America with My Little Pony Land, where the elves gambol with the fairies and the unicorns by the Pink Lemonade Stream under a Cotton Candy Sky.

Quote from: Roger on August 24, 2012, 06:25:49 AM...What happens?  The old world order adopts the phrase "New World Order".  A phrase once rebellious has now been co-opted and means the exact opposite. Confusion is the name of the game or the psy-ops game.

It amounts to the same thing: a limited intellect and limited emotional maturity reacts to an advancing consciousness.

I see no reason to be retributive.  I think it better to laugh. And to forget. Attention is food for a bad seed. To forget is the best form of forgiveness.  The cow of life has no idea who or even when someone broke her legs, one after the other. Modern internetters have one leg to stand on. Better use it to the best advantage and not be like what they hate.

Somebody got ahold of Daddy's Thesaurus and is just talking out their ass.

Well, the way I read it, the Cow of Life refused to respond to advancing consciousness (due to her emotional immaturity and intellectual limitations) and some creep came and broke her legs one after the other. We must assume the creep did this four times since cows have four legs.

Now those of us who use the internet have only one leg to stand on, though that cow has none.

As for the connection between the Cow of Life and internet users, I can't quite ferret it out yet. In fact, I may give up, clearly being somewhat limited myself.

Suffice to say, though, I'm not writing a doctoral dissertation online in a forum.

From last night's show.

George:  Can the mind be that strong, that powerful, to mentally conjure up something and you actually think it's real?

Mark Edward:  Oh absolutely.... (Laughs) Are you--is that a serious question?

Yes, Mark, from George Noory, that was a serious question.
