Dave digested himself.  Maybe that's how he developed his unique style of broadcasting.

Great clips, Matt! This one had me helpless for a few minutes. Yep, all that thar book digestin' sure gave our Georgie the peerless command of the English language we know and love him for.

Dave can't do the Spock thing with his hands and asks a 76 year old woman to make animal noises.  Classhic radio.

I turned on the radio just when that was happening. Woman doing animal noises as Noory goes through a list of animals for her to impersonate. It really made me wonder what exactly is this shows demographic.

I want daily Snorge clips in this thread from maniac matt...

Ziznak, this is the first time I've noticed your Statue of Mediocrity. I got a good chuckle out of it.  ;D

It makes me wonder what weird, demented satisfaction sNoory enjoys from this. He derives great pleasure in making his callers whinny like a horse or bark like a dog on a regular basis.  There are times when his insistence to have his callers please him with these sounds becomes overbearing and truly disturbing.  My favorite time was when he had a witch on the program and he wanted her to "cackle like a witch" as they wrapped up the interview.  She didn't do it, despite his asinine goading to be a stereotypical witch, which is probably something she could do without and is working to dispel.

"Are you feeling SLUGLISH?"

Shades of Vitameatavegamin!

George just asked the audience "Do you feel slugglish?"

On a different note, the 1st hour alternative health guest, Gary Ridenour said that most mosquitos typically come out at night.  That's bs.  I get bitten in the daytime and very rarely at night.

You beat me to the punch!
It's so ridiculous, it bears repeating!  Maybe that clip could be animated, with Noory in Lucy garb.

Rico999

I think George is the worst pitchman I've ever heard.  Erudite he is not.

There are many types of mosquitoes, and some imported/spreading from other areas, so it depends on where you live. Almost all (females) though bite in early morning/evening (crepuscular) or at night but some species also bite during the day. Though not all spread the various diseases the news is always talking about also. There also is a lot of variety in how long they live, where they breed, and how long they can fly. Bring back DDT and applying "light film of petroleum products" to water (kills the larvae,) I say!

And didn't they have the name of the show wrong? It's a never-ending source of amusement. Tommee waving excitedly to the three people on the other side of the street who offer no response at all. George, having apparently shrunk, with his fixed hand salute.
And all the time I'm thinking 'Back, and to the left. Back, and to the left'.
I get a chuckle every time I view Jorch's "Zapruder" video. :))  It looks like a real version of a Paper*Boy EyePad cartoon.  You couldn't set-up anything more hilariously ludicrous if you tried.

Ha!  That reminds me of the night Jorch really lost it and was doing choo-choo train sounds.  ::)  Apparently, his demographics are senile senior citizens, insomniac kindergartners, and a smattering of incredulous BellGabbers.

But insects were building a resistance to DDT and it was taking more and more of the stuff to be effective - meanwhile, it was poisoning US!

I was half-way kidding though the lives saved due to DDT versus the lives ended the balance would be on the 'saved' (typhus, malaria, lice, DumDum Fever, on crops giving better yields, etc.) Though it was less effective in tropical areas it was still better than nothing and was effective in more Northern climes. But, yes, eagles, falcons, etc suffered. And, it is debatable to some, whether saving human lives is worth it anyway for your Manthusians out there. And, as you mention the resistance to insecticides, anti-biotics, etc etc is worrying in general (besides whatever impact they have on us acutely.) I haven't listened to the show, yet, but I wish Art were still on to discuss this latest mosquito scare with some alarmist expert! Especially the apparently correlation to where experiments were done with mosquitoes and this new spread.

This seems to be only dangerous to fetuses and although there are presently no tests, it seems as though the fetus can be tested and if it has such defects it can be aborted.  I don't understand why a woman would not abort, thinking it is God's will that a kid be born with such defects.  Then, was it God's will that the mosquito carries this dreadful disease, and so we should do nothing to eradicate it?

It seems to me that if you don't do all you can to avoid a bad situation, you should think twice before complaining.

"All you can do to avoid a bad situation," so you agree that a "light films of petroleum products" on water or DDT is a viable, historically useful solution?  ;) DumDum Fever, Malaria, Dengue, Chickyana, etc etc doesn't "just" kill or harm babies. This latest mosquito born "alarm" might not also. And your amazing idea that the vast number of these people in effected regions (Africa, South American, certain Asian countries) have limited access to healthcare for basic needs will be able to do a test on their fetus? But even if it does that could be a bad thing (of course, in some people's world, since the areas it is endemic (at least now) it would only kill poor people or certain races/ethnicities so, who cares, right? Lots of useless eaters anyway! Hey, "Natural Selection!" And the world is already over-populated and it will be, mostly, 'them' that die or have small heads.  :o
--> send these Malthusian comments to politics. You will find many who support these ideas.

Huh. I bet Jorch never talks about this.
I'm not going to defend Norry(!), or Alex, but when he lets Jones on to rant (which, interestingly, is less frequent than in a few years past) AJ will rant about such stuff because "they" want to kill everyone (well, ok, not everyone, just, I forget his exact theory, 80% of the population?)  ;). Although I would be interesting to hear Norry pronounce "Malthusianism!"
