Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

It's sad, because Krugman's economic theories are the complete opposite of those espoused on Coast to Coast AM.
No doubt... as I recall, Krugman does not even believe in pouring all of your assets into gold and freeze dried food (obviously he is an unschooled hack who does not understand the gold markets and economics in general.)  ;)  He would make an excellent guest to tear apart some of Georges BS and actually educate some callers (possibly bringing them back to reality.)

We can't have that now can we  :D

all I want is for a guest to hang up on George Noory after he asks a dumb question.

More than boring to me, this quack doctor was spouting the usual Noory poison against drugs I know personally have made the difference in day and night for myself and several in my family.  It's the same thing Noory does by having guests who tell cancer patients not to avail themselves of chemotherapy.

George is gonna end up in court over this before he's done.  And no one will be more surprised than the Doofus himself when that happens. He thinks he's just getting the "trooth" out.  >:(
Yeah I REALLY hated this episode.  I personally have found antidepressants useful.  They make me LESS filled with rage.  You know that wacko Jared Loughner who tried to kill the Congresswoman?  Well he was refusing psychiatric meds and he and he stayed up for 3 full days pacing up and down his cell.  Finally after this, the Court issued an order requiring him to get medicated.  Such meds aren't for everyone, but neither is chemo or insulin shots.  If you're sick, you shouldn't be dissuaded from getting help?

What's next for George?  Will he try to dissuade people from evacuating from possible natural disasters because he thinks that the government is hoaxing us?

I was so pissed I turned to WGN 750 Chicago, where they had a bunch of computer geeks discussing cool crap on the web.  That's a fun station if you can pick it up--lots of Chicagoland sports of course--but also general interest talk.

Sorry- did you follow the link to youtube?  This is not some fake google account- it is Krugman, live and in person talking on CNN.  Start watching @ 1 minute if you lack patience.  That is where he says that the threat of an alien invasion would fix the economy in 18 months (prior to that he is talking about what WWII did for the economy and does tie them in together.)  Right after that he says the idea came from a Twilight Zone episode.  It appears to be a casual remark that should never have been taken seriously by people in any way aside from looking at economic theory, output, wars and recessions.

Krugman calls for space aliens to fix U S economy

I am thoroughly confused... what about my wishing that I did not have to listen callers nightly bring up what appeared to be an off the cuff idea by Krugman to support their hair brained ideas strikes you as "right wing pontificating?"  The fact that Snoorys call screeners let these people through who make it actually sound as though a Yale educated Nobel prize winner supports their personal theories of aliens is just sad.
My very bad.  I was getting my Krugie stories mixed up.  The fake Krugie quote was actually about how a serious East Coast quake might help the economy.  Krugman's alien quip is totally within his character, as he is a total science fiction fan boy.  Krugman once said that he was inspired to become an economist because of Asimov's "Foundation Trilogy."  Once again, I apologize for the sniping.

I wonder how in the HELL George gets smart guys like Brian Green and Kaku to come on.  Those shows can be worthwhile, because George just lets them yack and probably takes a nap.

I didn't mean he pissed off the left and right in a political sense.  I meant his general approach to the ruination of C2C has pissed off both the left and the right.  We seem to be a pretty equal mix of conservative and liberal thought on this board, yet we all share a loathing of Noory.
You're right.  I recall the tasteless show he did the night after we killed bin Laden.  Now normally I'm the most peace-loving tree-hugging drug imbibing hippie around, but I think that bin Laden's killing gave me quiet satisfaction, though not crass jubilation.  George had on this fuckwit who claimed that Obama and the government faked the whole raid and Osama, like Elvis, was really alive.  The only other asshats who were claiming this were Russian TV and Al Quaeda sympathizers.  I guess that George couldn't give a black guy credit for killing US enemy #1.

I'm sure you're aware that George has inherited most of the good guests from Art.  A lot of 'em have kept coming on with George, but I'm sure they do it to keep their names in the public sphere -- in the Coast demographic -- like Kaku for example.   And John Hogue.

I'm with the post in that I wish a guest would hang up on him or tell him to his face he's a dope.  RCH comes close to that on occasion...

Clearly, Art was an innovator and set the standard for shows of this type.  George is a corporate hack  with very little intellectual curiosity, non-existent interviewing skills and less than average intelligence.  And a huge ego, go figure.

George has his regulars -- people like Quayle, Fitts, his "news" commentators, etc. -- and I don't think it's out of line to say that they're considerably worse as a whole than those who Art featured on a regular basis.

I've been in Noorvana for months now, not even sure how long it's been since I just completely quit listening.  Earlier this week, on the way home at night, I tuned in to Coast for a few minutes, not sure why.

So George is interviewing some guest talking about global warming.  The guy was talking about how climate change was getting worse, more storms, etc - just the opposite of what some guest apparently was saying last week (and generating a bunch of posts here).  The guest said something about at some point we would have a Katrina one week, then another huge event the next week, and another right after that, etc.

George interrupts with 'Bam... bam... bam...' - seeming to agree with the guest.  George is just a tool, barely listening, unable to coherently even say what his views are or defend them.  He probably thinks man-made global warming is a hoax, but isn't below agreeing with someone saying the opposite...

The right wingers see George Noory as an idiot and equate that with positions held by the left.  The left wingers see George Noory as an idiot and equate that with opinions held by the right.  In reality he's more of a non-partisan retard, holding whatever view is the most absurd on any given topic.

The guests and topics for this week look absolutely brutal. Zombies (which I wouldn't mind if it was a little more rare at least I doubt it is Noory), mind power (interesting w/ a real host, but brutal on this show), alchemy (pushing gold no doubt), post-nuclear apocalypse (interesting w/ real host guest, but instead Noory and a person w/ credentials in literature & Mayan prophecies instead of nuclear weapons or response), and voltage medicine.

Knowing a little about voltage myself I predict that it would take more than regular 110V household current to "cure" George.  Perhaps a good jolt of 3-phase 575V?

I completely missed that bit about an East coast quake.  Upon re-reading my response to you I likely owe you an apology.  I was short and believe I likely came across as mean spirited.

Noory again asks that same stupid question for tonight's physics guest that he asks all other scientists when they talk about Einstein.
Noory wonders what Einstein could have done if he had access to today's computers.
He was already told it wouldn't matter, since his theories were ideas from the mind. But he forgets that and asks again and again...

coaster

Noory just asked "is gravity a good thing or bad thing?" I don't even know what to say to that..

He also said Men In Black starred Will Smith and Tommy Johns. When we can't rely on Noory for accurate information about movies, all is lost.

One only hopes that in spite of Noory, we may learn something.  From James McCanny I learned that Venus not only spins in the opposite direction from all the other planets, but the same side of that planet is always facing the earth.  Huh?  Always?  How is that possible if we're on two different orbits around the sun?  Freaky.  From Dr. John Brandenberg I learned how adept George can be at avoiding anything too technical.  When ever Brandenberg ventured into the "unified theory" George would nudge him (sort of like an object in space - it doesn't take much to change it's momentum) into talking about ufos, or football.  It helps that the Brandenberg was a first time guest, unable to keep George at bay ( like Quayle, Hoagland, Kaku, et al) and staying focused.  I found it odd that he also gave credence the "face" on Cydonia.  Huh?  During the last hour and a half he sounded like he was getting drunk, a possible reaction to the realization that he had just shot his scientific career to hell.

I think that had happened by the time he allowed George to interrupt for five minutes with his childhood memories of "broadcasting" the neighborhood rocket flights.  At least Snoory was cognizant enough to admit he's told the story before.  Again.  And again.

Anyway, he wasn't on this weeks Ancient Aliens episode seeking the truth, waving his arms, spraying spit, making some stupid statement then ending it with that "did it happin'?  Hooo knows!" crap... or if he was on, I missed it... well, not sure if 'missed it' would  be the right term..

Brandenburg has been on other shows, Dark Matters, the Paracast for example. He's an interesting guy, interesting theories about Mars.

Re the orbit of Venus, I think it is impossible that the same side of the planet would always be facing the earth, such as with the case for the Moon for example.  The reason it is impossible is because the relative angular rate or speed of revolution between the earth and Venus has to vary because, as you point out, they are on different orbits.  So given that, the rotation of Venus would have to speed up and slow down to keep the same side facing the earth at all points in the respective orbits.  Maybe he meant something else, I don't know.

that was expected since early in the show last night it was revealed he was a friend of Richard Hoagland and gave him several nods of approval during the interview.
Hoagland even emailed a message to him during the show.

I never thought about Brandenberg drinking while on the air, Valdez, but that would explain a lot.

It was "interesting" to me to hear 2 giant egos repeatedly interrupt each other. I think the good doctor actually won that contest.  ::)

Brandenburg was laughing at the oddest things. He may very well of been drinking. I thought it was a decent show, but I was drinking, so who knows. Maybe it sucked.

Did Tommy Johns star in MIB before OR after his surgery?

That's *really* fucking stoopid.

OTOH George could have ADHD & its cousin, dyslexia.  I heard another George, who happened to be our President, say "statue" instead of "statute."  Michelle Bachmann mixed up John Wayne & John Wayne Gacy.  In case you just think that I'm singling out conservatives, talk show host and ADHDer Thom Hartmann pronounced Nancy Reagan dead a few days ago, which has got to be the biggest boo-boo of all.  (He was terribly mortified).

Interestingly, I've never heard another talk show host with ADHD, Glenn Beck, ever make such an error.  And Beck's so frenetic, he would get a Nobel Prize for ADHD, if one existed.  Beck has said all kinds of wrong things historically, theologically and politically, but he's never mixed up Tommy Lee Jones with Tommy Johns.

Rico999

What ooze did this Mitch Battros guy emerge from anyway?   Of all of the "experts" George has on his "news" segment, this guy is the bottom of the barrel.

Gassy Man

So George is "interviewing" some lady with a near death experience and launches into his usual non sequitur style of questioning -- she is as literal as an accountant, so she is offering a lot of short-clipped dull answers, and that is throwing him.  So then he starts blathering about forgiving people who commit horrible acts of violence against loved ones and encourages callers for the guest to share their opinion on the topic!  WTF??  Of course the callers are the usual gang of inarticulates.

Morgus

I predict Noory will cut out early in the last hour tonight and they will play part of a replay from some past show.
