George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium

Started by MV/Liberace!, April 06, 2008, 12:23:02 AM

Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

No
No

BobGrau

hmm.

I watched it through a heavy sarcasm filter - and it could work.

"Tell us, Noory, what exactly have YOU seen?"

fysisist

Isn't it like a knife twisting in your gut to think that GeoSnoory gets a big fat paycheck for hosting C2C??  I have read a couple figures on this forum, one was $400K/yr the other was millions per yr.  I figure the latter is closer to the truth.  Plus he probably gets some decent coin from those crappy-ass books he "wrote", Worker in the Night or whatever.  Plus I think he has a new one out called I'll Talk Until I'm Dead or something.  God almighty what a colossal waste of cash.  Really, any amount is too much for the sorry excuse for a show he generally does night in and night out.  If there really is a God, how could he let this continue??

rolindos

Ryan Seacrest, he works probably even less than GN, and he makes what.. $14,000,000 per year??  The harder you work, the less you make, that seems to be the formula nowadays.

Camper

There's no way Noory makes millions per year and comparing him to Ryan Seacrest or Limbaugh is silly. Those guys are primetime and Noory isn't even close to being in their league.

What do you think George Knapp makes as a investigative journalist? And he says he's not interested in doing C2C fulltime because he's to busy. If the contract was millions per year, I'm sure he wouldn't be that busy.

Morgus

it was predictable that noory would change the schedule for tonight's c2c show at the last minute.
he had to get a guest to talk about the (non)hurricane Irene event of course.
and then bring on hoagland for part two.

Why would he bring Hoagland on to talk about a damn hurricane? Did Hoagland inject torsion physics and fear porn in his appearance Morgus?
I just don't get it how Hoagland is the go-to-guy like he's some kind of fucking Einstein. Lol, a false medal for science and the Al Roker statue for honorary meteorologists.

Morgus

Hoagland is on for the second 2 hours, but not for the hurricane (which the first 2 hour guest is on for)
but apparently for discussion of another breaking news story today about the international space station, also a comet coming in towards the sun that he believes is actually an artificial tetrahedrial craft...

I read where he says that comet Elenin is a ufo. But there is another one? And heading towards the sun at that!
All we need now are some cults and we'll have a real story here soon for George to report on.

rangers1919

Dr. Tim Ball, another climate change denier that Noory will uncritically, sycophantically, pathetically "question", while providing a forum for him to spew his lies.

Ball has been proven a liar over and over, as have almost every single "climatologists" that dickhead Noory has on. First off, Ball has long claimed to have a Phd which he almost always specifies is a Doctorate of Science. Although a Phd is no small accomplishment, he has a Doctorate of Philosophy, not science. This has been shown, and he has continually lied stating he has the science specification which would give him more credibility in the technical scientific field he is constantly criticizing. This would be fine if he didn't constantly lie about it, and if it was his only falsehood, but like all Nooryites it is only one in a litany.

Second, he has long claimed that his degree was the first Climatology Phd in Canada, a lie in multiple respects. He was not the first w/ a Phd in climatology b/c people did it before him. Also, he doesn't have a degree in climatolgy like he claims, he has a degree in Geography. He has also claimed to be a professor for over 30 years in climatology, unfortunately for his lying ass it was 8 years, and it was in Geography which is fitting since it is his field.

Third, like every single climate change denier he claims not to be funded by the oil and gas industry, but is of course funded almost solely by the oil and gas industry through a vaguely named front group.

There's plenty more, but the site I link to covers the basics I've summarized. If anybody needs anymore the guy constantly works with the Drudge Report, one of the most disreputable "news" outlets out there, even before it started becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Now if this idiot of a host wanted to do an interesting show he could let the moron talk for 20-30 minutes, describe his falsified credentials and work, and then start asking him about his joke of a reputation, constant lies, and ask why anybody would take him seriously.

Anybody willing to blatantly lie so often even when exposed multiple times most likely is willing to state that they also believe in the abiotic oil theory, so Noory will let him go on without any challenges or legitimate questions.

BTW, anybody that lists their CV w/o the field they got their Phd in is shady. This guy's history would disqualify him from coaching a high school baseball team, but let's base our national scientific policy on his work and have him on huge talk shows.

Haha. Clearly hyper-dimensional torsion physics on a tetrahedral scale.
Wonder if the dynamic duo will mention the internet haters out there tonight..

Aside from the numbers lady tonight might be the worst I've ever heard. The guest is 100% anti-science. Apparently we don't even have the ability to determine if an earthquake shifts the earth 30 degrees. Well let's call Antarctica, if they are all of a sudden located about where the southern portion of Argentina is, or north of Australia we've shifted.

I'm going to listen tomorrow, and if it's as horrible as the last 2 times I've listened I'm done forever, I have a ton of podcasts or dead silence I can catch up on.

Avi

I just can't understand Noor-booger's fascination with pseudo-science. The real thing is sooo much more interesting. Perhaps it's an appeal to some kind of "common sense of the everyman" schtick. Well, those pointy-heads in their ivory towers just aren't working in the light. Why doesn't he have an actual climatologist on to discuss the latest findings in climate science or an actual astronomer on to discuss comets? No, no...that might be too interesting.

George, as my favorite fake colonel said, "You can't handle the truth!"

Hoagland is now getting into the evacuation of the international space station, the comet, and even the hopi prophecies about something crashing to earth - all connected? :o

All of the above posts are why I didn't listen at all tonight.

I saw the freight train a-comin' when I looked at tonight's guests and topics.
Between Noory's pseudo-science and Hoagland's delusional tirades, I just couldn't throw myself beneath those wheels.

Well said.  Did you hear how excited Georgie became when Ball bashed those terrible climate scientists?  I thought he'd have take a break to change his pants.  It sounds like you like Ball and his work as much as I like Noory and his BS agenda.  Not very much.

What? Drudge Report is a news aggregation site and not a news outlet. There's no original content there. Drudge may be "increasingly irrelevant" to you but hardly to anyone else. He is second only to Google in driving traffic to real news sites. Hardly irrelevant. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/16/business/media/16carr.html

I'd ask you to explain what you mean by "he constantly works with the Drudge Report" but any answer you have would be meaningless (irrelevant) to me.

I should be so smart.  I have listened to a couple of 15 or 20 minute "snippets" of the show.  Only my left hand and right leg have been severed by those steel wheels... and I will probably test my luck once more as Hoagland seems to be in particularly fine form tonight.

On a side note, I noticed that Noory is back to promoting the work at home scam... I may actually, for the first time ever, send an email to thank them for lowering his credibility even further with a personal endorsement of this "company."

***Edit: I did try once more and lost my left toe to that trian with the caller espousing the idea that we are living in heaven on earth with God ships coming.  We "just need to get rid of our material possessions."  That was a particularly short lived test.  Why do I keep trying and hoping while never learning my lesson?***

Two of my favorite things:  Climate change deniers, and Richard C.  George ran off a list of events and asked Ball to rate their possibility on a scale of 1 through 10.  The thing is, George didn't put a time limit on it, so theoretically all his scenarios (asteroid smashing into the earth, massive earthquakes, x-flare something or other, giant fire breathing lizard destroying Tokyo) would be a 10.  Silly George.  While talking about the existence of other life in the universe George said he would only be excited by such a discovery if the life form was "something like human".  He has his standards.  Hoagland made George do math.  Bad Hoagland.

I really hate debunkers of climate change. Almost as much as the puss suckers that suggest humans lived in harmony with dinosaurs.

Even if one believes that climate change is not caused by humans. It is foolish to not consider ways to limit any addition that humans may contribute. To deny that is truly pathological and perhaps evil.

Simply put: my home gets dirty because the wind blows some dirt in through open windows and doors. So I should take no responsibility for taking off my shoes before walking to the living room?

Tim Bell is a maggot, squirming on rotten pig balls, at the bottom of a cess pool, hoping to soon traverse the taint to reach the succulent ass parts. Fuck him and anyone that thinks we have no responsibility regarding our environment.

Me too. What I hate more is the non-science educated segment of society which they are empowering. It's as if these people failed science, but are making a comeback via some loser on Coast to Coast AM and Fox News.

While I do think climate change is a serious issue that is going to fuck over future generations (so glad to live now), I am opposed to government punishment in the form of taxation of citizens! The technology isn't there. Toyota Prius is a start, but it can't possibly be the end and if it is, the materials that are mined to produce the car are not sustainable and they are a pain in the ass politically and physically to obtain (oh you didn't know did ya? yea that car is actually BAD for the environment). What are we supposed to do? Live like bums? GTFO.

I'd rather see a responsible, reasonable government response. If the government weren't so corrupt, maybe they could have supported (very very publicly and openly) the research. Saudi Arabia's government started non-fossil fuel research in the 1980s. They also stole hundreds of USA scientists and engineers to do it. America pisses me off so much. What is wrong with our country's priorities? I couldn't care less about a bunch of bearded assholes or who they want to lead them save for how much it has cost the country financially and morally. Jesus come back already.

Dr. Ball is an idiot and seems to be a fraud, but referring to those who legitimately disagree (on scientific grounds) with the currently popular global warming/climate change model as 'deniers' is an obvious attempt to associate them with those who deny the Holocaust happened, and is contemptible.

The climate change 'debate' has degenerated into little more than just another boring Left vs. Right partisan political spat. Insulting the victims and survivors of the Nazis in the process by suggesting that global warming theory is as firmly established a 'fact' as the occurence of the Holocaust is unforgivable.

Frys Girl

Tim Bell? That was his name? That show last night was all kinds and shades of crappy. George Noory is a joke. This is not a serious broadcast at all. wow. Coast to Coast AM is disgusting.

Gotta agree with you there.  It's purely a scientific question.  The implications of climate change are great but the phenomenon shouldn't be a belief system.

Yeah, but Snoory frequently quotes World Nut Daily for his news stories, which makes Drudge Report look like the New York Times of the 40's!

Hello all, just found this site a few days ago. Been a coast fan since '96. I listen now because I drive a truck and it keeps me awake, if only to make me agitated that the show is only a shadow of what it once was.

I have to contribute here with a comment on the show last night. George asked perhaps the dumbest question I have ever heard last night of the first guest. That is saying something because I have been listening to George for years now. I am only paraphrasing here but the question was something like this:

Is there any scenario or eruption or something that you can think of that would split the earth in two?

WTF?????????????????????

I almost wrecked the truck. I was literally dumbfounded at the stupidity of the question.

I am not sure of your point? Why would anyone conjoin a historical crime of horrific proportions with what is pretty much considered a scientific fact? I disagree that the term deniers as a reference to the holocaust. I think that suggestion is way off the mark. The fact simply is Tim Ball and his ilk are paid to muddy the waters. They are deniers of facts. They are ilk.

Although I will concede that many aspects of climate change/global warming have been politicized. The actual occurrence of global warming are only denied by the stupid and the mislead. Whether it is man made, is really not an operable argument. The cause isn't important except in how to ameliorate the potential future consequences.
