George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium

Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

Jorch is to radio as Barney Fife is to law enforcement. Shazam!

Barney deserves better. Maybe he wasn't John McLain. But he made an effort. Noory doesn't even bother pretending to go through the motions.

This happened such a long time ago that I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly, but Coast used to be 5 hours long and was reduced to 4 when Art's back problems were flaring up.  Could've sworn that some vague promise was made to return the show back to 5 hours but seems that nothing ever came from that.

Yes I remember that as well.
Noory early on said he would get it back to 5 hours, but never did after 12 years now...
Of course, in reality Noory's shows are probably barely 2 hours of real content now after you subtract all the breaks and commercials, and wasted time of his asking the same questions over and over.

I bet Art Bell's new 4 hour shows with minimal breaks will actually have more minutes total content then a 5 hour c2cam show with commercials and breaks would have.

The fact that many stations' start up their morning drive shows at 5am may have played a part in the show not going back to 5 hours as well.

George can barely make it thru 4 hours, let alone 5

and you can tell Noory really would rather cut it down to 2 hours since lately he has been having two 2hour interviews with different guests on each show.
apparently he can't sustain longer than that with most guests other than Linda Howe who brings her own material and interviews.
Art Bell in contrast could do the full 4 hours with a single guest!

Hell, Art could do 5 hours without a guest, just unscreened open lines. Noory apparently can't even do two hours of screened open lines without playing at least a half an hour of prerecorded drek so he can duck out early for a turkey sandwich and quart of Icehouse.

You're actually giving Noory too much credit.  Take into account all the ads and the opening news segment, and a "4 hour" show is more like 2.5 hours.  It's why I don't like the split show format- instead of under covering one topic you're severely under covering two.  Not to mention the inherent problem of retreading the same subject matter being doubled.  And then the added problem of two topics being butchered instead of one each weeknight.

I stopped listening to Noory a long time ago, but I am somewhat curious about something that those who listen to the show might be able to answer: Has the split-show format helped keep him from asking questions that cause the guest to repeat something they talked about five minutes beforehand? That was one of the most frustrating issues I had with Noory, because it proved that he was a terrible interviewer. It seems that the way they're doing things now, it would reduce the likelihood of him doing that.

No, Noory still does that. He is still the worst interviewer in the electronic media.

That's a good point. I think the split-show is Noory's doing but I'm just now realizing that the split-show format reaches into the weekend even when Noory is not there, like tonight, I wish Knapp would get into some discussion of his 'Knapp's News' stories and maybe take some calls before the guest is ready, even Ian Punnett used to do as much, but no more. Either way I see it as Jorch's influence ruining the format.

Yes there are more split shows than there used to be, but thankfully there are still gems like Knapp's full 4 hour show with Paulides last weekend.

There were so many times at the end of Art's shows when he'd say something to the effect that he had more questions and wished he had more time.

George is always relieved to get to the end of the show, and has already mentally checked out

When Art did have guests back, he would cover the basics for people then have a conversation different from the previous one.

George asks mostly the same set of questions the next time a guest comes on ('for the new listeners').

And George has a lot less time to fill, since his show is half commercials

According to Noory himself he is part of the so called new media along with his butt buddy Alex Jones. He then went on to say he doesn't talk about politics much right before endorsing Ron Paul as a so called "fresh face that we need." I find that most who call themselves new media just flat out suck.

The split format is the worst thing going. I mean Noory can't even do the normal prep for one guest, but with two on every show you know he is going suck extra hard. The whole C2C crew needs to be fired for incompetence. Lisa is the most disgusting one of the whole bunch, and has no clue how to talk to people judging by the messages she has sent back to people like myself.

I remember when they took a poll on the C2C website to vote for split show or one guest. The majority of listeners voted for one guest. Then they totally ignored the poll. I tried to listen to Knapp last night but most of that seemed like a re-hash of another interview he'd done. I'll head over to Knapp forum to check out last night's show comments.

Yes!  Tonight's show is shaping up to be another classic Noory dog's breakfast filled with a cacophony of vague conversation.

Tonight's show sounds like a doozy--black eyed children and UFO "repeaters".

Izintit?

I`m not up for George`s garbled delivery tonight. I`ll just listen until he asks "Where do they come from?" in that fake naive tone he uses. GNS

Sounds about as exciting as watching paint grow on grass. It's like a tree falling in the forest and no one cares. The blob that ate radio. Mumbling much, signifying nothing. Conversational thrust instantly neutralized by mustache generated gravitational torsion field. Night of the living bleh. George makes dead air seem lively. Etc etc

But basically dude just sucks.
