Cohen was proclaiming Putin's 85 percent approval rating as evidence for what a fine leader he is.  Doesn't Cohen study other nations?  High approval ratings are almost always a sign of sham democracies.  Putin has control of the Russian media and the internal Russian internet.  He further shores up control of people's perceptions because Russian isn't spoken in a lot of other places.  Of the small percentage who know English or other outside languages, and pay attention to foreign media or have international business dealings, a recent very public execution of one of Putin's opponents will keep most of those people from talking too loudly to the 85 percent controlled by Putin's media.

Post script.  Interesting factoid:  85 percent of Russians don't speak a foreign language according to Wikipedia.  Do ya think that's a coincidence Mr. C2C host man?  Do ya think you should have some guests on who can think critically once in awhile?
