Does anyone remember when Lear (of the Lear Jets, of course) called in drunk crying about how his Dad hated him and his Dad's employee slapped him in the middle of a meeting, with his Dad's approval?  Lazy, self-entitled rich boys and their daddy issues; who doesn't want to hear about that? 

Don't bring up George's Dad or he will start crying and make everyone very uncomfortable. 

Who would you rather be in the room with (1) drunk George and hot pizza roles; (2) greys+ probes; or (3) horny shadow guy with fedora?

It was quite riveting as the suspense built with each shout out, trying to determine if the replies really were emanating from the station.

Hmmmm...so the PremRat Borg may have appeared here last night?  Did Mommy PremRat let little boy Jorch come and play with the neighborhood "bad boys" or did she put on a mask and pretend to be Jorchie boy, while Jorchie was hiding under her skirt?  As has been pointed out, it is VERY ironic that it helped boost this thread to the 1,000 milestone mark.  Almost as "shpeshial" as the Wunderkind Jorchie's "1,000 year contract."

Jorch reminds me of "Carlos Danger."  Rather than address and correct his grievous flaws, he decides to wonder into the fray and try and toy with those who call him out.  I'm also sure it was just a "coinshedence" with the timing, just happening to occur shortly after The Master announces his return.  So much for any noble intentions.  Once a scorpion, always a scorpion.

If that was really George (or staff) then I applaud them for reaching out and stepping into the lion's den. I hope they listen and at least try to pick up their game.

Just for the record, here's my 2 cents:

It clearly was not George Noory joining the forum tonight.  Apparently, it was a staff member, relaying to him what to say on air.  I vote Lisa Lyon as being most likely.  She's intelligent, women are generally much more adept than men at making conciliatory (both fake and real) statements, and I've had email from her and been in the C2C chat room with her, so I'm somewhat familiar with her style.

I agree.  Obvious Noory proxies have been on other similar forums (the "Love-Don't-Hate" troll) and I'm sure that his producers have an intern assigned to the "haters," to see what they're thinking and submit a daily summary of what goes on here (not that George even gives a shit). 

No doubt they get bored and want to join the fun.

I think too that his people who do read this forum just might have some empathy for the comments and conversation on these pages.  They "get" the anger and frustration we have with their boss and the mess he's made of Coast.  I wonder how many times they've "suggested" to him to proofread the "news" copy they give him before he goes on the air?

You'd have to be the worst sycophant in the world to not realize George is ridiculously inept and unprepared almost every night. 

Year after year of that shit -- despite the good salary PremRat pays you -- would have to get you down.

I stayed up and watched the whole "George" interaction last night.  Clearly, it was either him or one of his staff members.   It's been a decade of laziness, and now they suddenly woke up yesterday morning and realized they needed improvement?  It's painfully obvious they only care now due to Art coming back and providing real competition.  If Art didn't have a new show coming up, we'd still be called "haters" and told to get lives.  But, hey, if he uses this as a tool to improve, good for him.  I hope he does improve himself and the show.  But it's too little too late for me.  I'll be listening to Art.

Just for posterity and for those who weren't present and might not believe what happened last night.

On 8/12/13 at around 8:30 PST  the GNS thread was pretty quiet, a couple of posters engaging in pre-show banter,  constructing anagrams or George Noory and Dave Noory, etc...

At 8:45 PM PST a newly registered member named GNOORY posted: "I feel like Im in the middle of the gladiator's arena!
Am I invited or should I depart?"

The post was ignored for a while.  I ignored it particularly because:

a. I figured it was a troll.
b. I figured if it wasn't a troll it was a prank between regulars.
c. I'm a newbie anyway and it wasn't my place to engage.

Within 15 minutes Roy Hinkley responded and welcomed the new poster, though he (Roy) didn't take the bait.

At 9:06 PM PST GN posted "Because I am Dave Noory."

This poster continued to engage right up to show time and then excused themselves, returning during each long break.

The general feeling on the forum was that it was a hoax though some were humoring the GN poster.

Then it got interesting.

At 10:41 PM PST Snap T asked that GN make a Twilight Zone reference on the air.

Less than 10 minutes later, George Noory shoehorned in a comment something like "This is just like the Twilight Zone, isn't it ...", in reference to the fracking interview he was conducting.  It didn't fit and the guest was a little confused about it.

At 10:52 PM PST Saucy Rossy asked GN to open the lines and specifically ask for "Fracking Horror Stories".  The request was clarified and repeated a few times.

At 11.01 PM PST the GN poster hinted he would do so.

Less than 10 minutes later, George started open lines with a specific call for fracking horror stories.

At 11:18 PM PST Sydtron began the call for a specific song to played, "Strawberry Fields Forever".  To the best of my knowledge, this never happened.

Poster behavior during this period ranged from humor, to disbelief, to outright anger.  A small amount of infighting ensued.  Some posters felt that George's actions would be the death of the thread.  Others advised caution.

The general consensus seemed to be that the GN poster was not likely George himself, but an employee.  This is reinforced by the fact that at least two occasions, GN posted while George was speaking on the air, with enough of an overlap so as to be outside of the tape delay.

At 11:21 PM PST Roy Hinkley asked for a shoutout to "Roy Hinkley of Tacoma, WA."

At 11:34 PM PST MV asked GN to prove his identity by playing a didgeridoo on the air for 36 seconds. To the best of my knowledge, this never happened.

Shortly before 11:37 PM PST, George made the callout to Roy Hinkley of Tacoma.

At 12:02 AM PST Saucy Rossy asked that GN wish his sick cat, Goatsy, well.

This request was repeated at 12:08 AM PST and 12:30 AM PST.

At 12:30 AM PST George made the Goatsy get well request on the air.

At 1:28 AM PST GN made his/her last post; "I win? Not at all... Just want this to work for all of us."

Following this, there were no more on air comments from George and the forum continued to discuss the events in a more civilized manner, ending in some celebratory and semi-celebratory posts on the 1000th page.

Few who where here would doubt that George directly and actively engaged this forum/thread last night, whatever his motives.

I think you hit the nail on the head in saying we were just humoring whoever it was.  I know some posters got mad, but I think they didn't realize we were just playing the game, we weren't jumping ship.  We all still had our feelings about the show and the host, but it was sort of fun to banter back and forth and get the shout outs.

Also, regarding your recap, for those that want to hear the major ones I have them listed up a few posts with a link and the time so you can listen to the shout outs.

Agree 100%. Some of the posts last night were ridiculous- seriously, how many different ways can you call the guy a "doo doo head"? He jumped into the fray, showed humility, what more do you want? If he's sincere, takes legitimate criticism to heart & steps up his game, I give him credit for that.

okay then.  Here is what I really believe is going on.  Hear me out.  Noory is scared to death of Art's return.  It WILL affect his shitty show.  He has so many haters here as well that won't ever listen to C2C again. 

I believe, knowing a little bit about the law, that he was told by his attorneys to interact here and make sure the world knows he did.  He did that or had somebody help.  Now that that has occurred it could change the legalities of what is said here forever more.

He let us know with that grotesque self-pic avatar that HE WILL BE WATCHING.  They are probably lining up a law suit as we type.  I would look into when things can change when it comes to badmouthing someone in public.  There may even be new internet laws with that half ass government running this country that we don't know about. 

We have contact Houston and it could change everything!
