When Noory mentioned Art's age, he made it sound like Art was ancient and that he himself was in his 30's or something. George, you are 62. That wont change, no matter how much hair dye you use.

Not to mention in the first video, he said he wants to be on the air for 10 more years!  Which would make him 72.  You'd think the greatest physicist since Einstein would be able to do simple addition.

El Kragen

I don't know anything about how radio works behind the scenes and always thought there was some big elaborate HAL like computer phone system. According to that video it's just a run of the mill business phone with Dymo labels. How disappointing.

Also, apparently if you call, you should be calling the Wild Card Line, as it's 4 times more likely you'll get through.

And I would replace the "WILD 1" sticker with a picture of Flo Rida.

Or Marlon Brando.

Did George get a facelift or is it the P90X?

I've heard that farmer story from Noory several times.  That's his go-to story for interviews.

It's funny when he scrunches up his face and says, "I don't know why I did that" and the interviewer says, "awesome".  She obviously went to the Noory school of journalism.

Yes, the graduates of the University of Detroit - Mercy School of Jurnalism are taught to seek out dull interview subjects and ask them dull questions, don't listen to their responses and don't follow up.

He is old, old senior citizen.  Do you ever see him walk?  No, he probably uses a walker of a cane or is propped up with some strong support.

He lies, that is a fact.  He did not retire.

Has this thread jumped the shark?  It used to be mostly valid criticisms of Noory's running the Bell Model of C2C into the ground with smarmy, new agey BS and inept interviews. Now it seems like most posts are just ad hominem insults that have little to do with the show, and some are way over the top.

As for the interviews, I have some sympathy for GN as the constant target for Bell groupies doing drive-bys.

I've no idea why, but the thought occurred to me today that what we're looking at is not the actual studio, but something whipped up to look like it.  Hence, the spotless appearance.

I would agree that the level of discourse has dropped over the last few months.  I think there's a certain fatigue setting in among the long-term members of this forum.  We've had flame wars, trolls, new people showing up with nothing to offer but junior high school playground mentalities, and a general malaise.

The pizza roll story marked the point where George told the world that he was asking to be ridiculed

Plus 12/21/2012 happened (or more correctly didn't happen) soon after that, which showed the world that the emperor had no hairdye

I think that is a very astute observation. I have certainly shown more of my butt cheeks than I should have. There are so many exceptional minds on this forum. Yet I seem to miss or pass by some of their writings. Thanks for pointing this out.

I have to agree.  It's infectious to take cheap shots at someone and despite my initial stand I've been guilty of it too.  And I know I'm a new participant who might not be totally accepted here.  But when we're comparing Noory to Hitler or taking fairly mundane activities and nitpicking the hell out of them , distorting everything, maybe its getting a bit much.

Coast to Coast am has a problem.  It's spreading ignorance among the mentally and emotionally vulnerable, presenting horribly researched opinions as fact, and is led by a host who is unable or unwilling to properly interview a guest.  If we concentrate on that instead of just taking out our frustration maybe we can effect change.  If we all find an incidence of fraudulent or damaging opinions presented as fact on coast to coast am, and present it to an appropriate authority, maybe we can get some sort of disclaimer put on the show.  Personally, I'm not sure that will improve the program but at the moment its the best I've got.

Re:  the sNoory videos above:  I did investigative work for many years and learned to size people up during the thousands of interviews I've done.  sNoory strikes me as very insincere; he gives canned responses to questions; his facial expressions seemed forced, I wouldn't trust him as far as I can spit.

I bet sNoory would fail a lie detector test if asked what he really thinks of Art Bell, his listeners, and most C2C topics.  Only when he discusses alternative health and certain conspiracy theories do I sense any interest that is not feigned.

I agree.  And he also has a unique quality of being condescending and smarmy, while simultaneously not being intelligent enough to pull it off.  I definitely get the feeling from him that he thinks he is better than everyone else, and smarter - he lives in his own little world.

Tinfoil Hat

Equating Noory with Hitler?!!! Sheesh George doesn't even make it to Nick Perry levels of evil.

Although if I don't stop seeing these damn Gaiam Beyond Bleef ads everywhere I might change my mind. It's like George is cyber-stalking me.

I wonder what Katherine Albrecht thinks about that.

I think our deterioration as of late is a cumulative artifact of all the years George has been Jorch.  We're running out of new rocks to chunk at him, and we're exasperated.

Where I would give the benefit of the doubt to the average person, everything Noory does connects in my mind with the 10,000 other times he's done something so similar that it's taken over 800 pages to chronicle them all.

And now we hear the chorus of the "So why do you still listen" people ...

"Because, like Mt. Everest, he's there, and we're all hopeless night owls." ???

I ran across this most disturbing vid of the noron today. There is something very wrong with this man- he truly appears to have a severe personality disorder.

George Noory Interview - Host Of Coast To Coast Speaks Out

There sure is something wrong.  He slips and tells the suicidal man's story in the first person - obvously a bs story anyway.

Then he gloats about messing with a caller's head even though he can't explain why he did it with his most caring expression. It's really creepy when the interviewer responds about how awesome that is.

Strange how the people he messes with are always women.

Morgus

Predictably, tonight Noory cancelled his scheduled guest to have on instead one of his regular doom&gloom guests to report on what has already been reported all day long on all the mainstream media.
What does Noory think he can add? Does he think he is better than the media reporters?
Why not try alternative programming, Noory...

This is what is one of my biggest complaints with Snoory.  A guest will just start to get interesting, and build up to some big revelation/point, and Georgie will either interrupt and or just go right on to the next 3X5 question and you're like yelling at the radio going you moron, ask the follow-up!!!!  Or, let the guest finish his thought you idiot!!!

That is my biggest gripe...he often interrupts and then talks over the guest's answer.  And it is usually something I really want to hear from the guest.  It's SO frustrating.   And no follow-ups when the topic absolutely begs for it.

Noory has no respect for the people by doing another rotten doom and gloom show. He is a sicko!

At the risk of alienating everyone, I don't really see anything wrong with those interviews apart from the fact that Noory is not a good looking man and the weird little bit about how he told the woman all the stars had burned out, showing an ability to lie for his personal amusement.  Oh, and they stole the theme song from the Simpsons.

I agree...I really wanted something to rag about him but I was (God forbid) actually impressed by his interviews.   But, yeah, I don't like that cruel streak of making others the butt of his humor-less jokes.

Doomed

Noory...you addle minded pinhead, pick up a dictionary and look up the word ironic.
Its a big book with lots and lots of words in it. Maybe you should have Tommy do it for you. Anyway, have him read to you what that word, ironic, means. Then, try to commit it to memory. I know its hard, but do it anyway.
Just once I wish this bozo would do something right. Just once!
Idiot could screw up gravel....

heheh  George will cast his "incredible compliments to..."    I think he was referring to the Boston authorities.

popple

Was that last caller pissed off about the marathon bombing because he missed the boston bruins game was canceled yesterday? Did I hear that correct?

Immy

This show is really displaying how limited Jorch's vocabulary is. Everything is either "ironic" (it isn't) or "buh-zarr." And where's his outrage? Where's his passion in defense of our great country? Is he capable of it, or does his middle-of-the-road, don't-make-waves mantra continue even in the face atrocities committed against America?

LOL - I heard "incredible compliments" too.  He uses incredible an incredible amount of time, I guess it's  bound not to fit the noun once in a while!  In fact he uses incredible so much that everything is incredible, so I don't know what would really be incredible - extra shuper shpecial incredible in George's words??

What did he say... "I'd rather be meeting with a diplomat than with a schoolroom full of kids in Florida."  I wish I had been listening closer to see what that was in response to.  Does he have something against kids and Florida?
