Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

I think at various times in history people (Jews, people in the Middle East now, Vikings, folks in communist lands, etc) would tell you it is nice to have a tangible, moveable commodity that is worth something everywhere and can be hidden, moved, sold, etc. Even when a "system" collapses, or turns against you, and if you are able to flee you have something worthwhile to buy bribes, transport, food, settlement in new lands, etc. Or bury/hide and get back later.
myth of the barter economy:

Thanks for those articles, they were very interesting. I was one of the suckers that believed my economics textbook.  The part on the 'gift economy' reminds me of both the Kibbutz where everybody contributes (maybe where the phrase "from each according to their ability to each according to their need" originated?) and the part that nobody took advantage of this gift economy is consistent with research that shows that despite fears practically nobody takes advantage of a guaranteed annual income (GAIN or mincome) by staying home and watching t.v all day in the places where it has been experimented with (I think I was the only one that did that, sorry! :D)

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/12/23/mincome-in-dauphin-manitoba_n_6335682.html

In regards to using gold as money though, in the scenario outlined by the Rickards, I don't really know how anybody would be able to travel very far.  I can understand the desire for a tangible currency that would be accepted nearly everywhere, but (unless my textbook also made this up) there have been many other tangible items that have been used as money in various parts of the world and many of them are far more practical than gold.  Wood being an obvious example.  While it is heavier than gold and therefore more difficult to carry if a person has to move, that person would need to carry wood with them anyway as a source for fire and other uses in case they are unable to secure wood at wherever it would be they would have to stop for the night.  Of course, like that article showed about barter, this hypothetical scenario is also not all that practical.  In the scenario Rickards described nearly any inexperienced traveling individual who had to leave their home would be killed by either animals or disease while trying to get to some other place.  Since these people would be no different than the refugees of today, it makes sense that if they could take to the water and travel by boat they might be able to survive for a short period of time, but I think it would be difficult if they were on their own.

I rarely view this thread because I do not listen to Noory.  I listen to Coast when Schrader, Syrett, sometimes Willis, Church, and Knapp host.....and, when Linda M. Howe is on.

Sometimes, when I used to listen to Noory and attempt to ignore the never-ending list of irritations he brought to each interview EVERY night, I would comment on this thread concerning yet one more blunder, stupid comment, or outrageous statement Noory would make.  Many times I would be asked, "Are you STILL listening to Noory?"  I would defend myself by stating that there truly are some good guests....and, those guests are capable of circumventing the simple-mindedness and interruptions of Noory.  Outstanding guests just keep on talking which ultimately removes Noory from the interview!

As I was reading a few pages of this thread, I see that nothing has changed!

I am now a night time iPad person.....listening to programs on YOU TUBE and SITARC.com (which is an awesome site).

George added a new word to the language last night, partly prompted by the crazy Judy Wood and her theory that the twin towers were brought down by some kind of energy beam weapon or something (she knows it's true because she follows the evidence, but refuses to say who fired it, where from, how and why). Because of this, she refused to accept George's description of the towers as having been 'pulverised'. Not true, said Wood, because that implies grinding. She prefers to use her own word, 'dustification'. No doubt confused by this, George - not once, but twice - referred to the buildings as having been 'powderised'. So confused was he, that he also described the perpetrators using cell phone towers to 'focal' the energy in their mysterious weapon.

George still can't pronounce 'nuclear'.

She calls it a "directed energy beam" please get it right.  :D

Just calling it an 'energy beam' makes her sound crazy, but calling it a 'directed energy beam' makes all the difference,  well actually, no it doesn't, she's still crazy.

I believe she says that even though she 'knows' this is how it has to be done she also has no idea from exactly what this directed energy came from, or exactly how that machine (if that's what it would be) would be made, how big it would have to be....

On the rare occasion he will pronounce it correctly, and then lapse again.

It's a pity because even with a boring or nonsensical guest a good host can attempt to keep you interested.  Not so with Georgy-boy.  If the guest is boring, a person just turns off the show.

I once heard George Noory pronounce February clearly and accurately

Probably another "big event" or "tv show, that is internet-based." Do you know people have watching parties? It is amazing, you know, you put the tv show, which is internet based, and put it up on your flat-screen. It is amazing.

Surprised not much talk of Thursday show

First guest was okay talking about the dangers of Power plants being attacked. The thing that stood out was Noory mentioning the segment topic as "Nuclear Sabotage"  but he said sabotage in such a cheesy movie promo guy voice which makes me wonder if he takes the topic seriously at all.

I then listened to the second guest final hour. There was some pretty hilarious moments.  So the guest was talking about the new "right to die" legislation in Canada and I assume what it means to the US or anybody that passes it. But we will never know as Noory quickly moved to "Will we ever visit Mars?" before the guest finish his thought. Then my favorite part the always non-political Jorch asked about the brokered convention possibility" which the guest replies with an awesome "What's That?" LOL  :D Then the guest says "I predicted a candidate will be pushed that will make Margaret Thatcher look like a panty-waste" Which I think it has to be a first on C2C  ;D

Then we get to the callers, as I  pray to the spaghetti monster in the sky. Please, Please, don't have this callers ask about their boring personal lives, please have caller who will call about general topics we can all appreciate. First caller up some old lady who sounds like she's 80 asking about her love life. Of f*ck sake, if my life has every been so boring to give a rats ass about somebody I have no idea who they are "lack of love life" please just end me now. I turned off radio almost immediately. But before turning it off I did hear the guest saying "Oh that's an original question" which might be just me but sounded so perfectly sarcastic  :)

I haven't listened but plan to do so when mowing the lawn tomorrow. Imagine the genius of a "split show" format: nuclear sabotage AND predictions/Houdini. They go together so seemlessly. Its amazing!

I hate to break it to him but it's more along the lines of Mystery Science Theater 3000 watching parties.

Holy old Lordy! Look this might not be in the right thread (pls, the powers that be, go ahead an put it where it needs to be, maybe start a JCS thread of it's own, I'm sure there'll be traffic)

I don't wanna get off on a rant here but...

Who else heard that ridiculous guess on C2C on the 9th. I'm referring to Carmen Boulter (I refuse to call her a doctor unless it's a doctor of bad attitude!) who proceeded to berate guest callers and was, in general, an old curmudgeon gramma. I dunno if it was just me, but on my walk home for some reason decided to take a listen, Egypt / King Tut stuff interests me to a degree and typically I can stand JC...but...this guess had me wishing i could dive into my device and go back in time couple of days and in pop out the other end of the phone to her and just *Frank Rizzo Voice* clock her right in her fuckin' mouth. Like the way MV says that if RCH ever talked to him the way he talks to some of his guests - same thing only for me this lady had it amplified by 19.5%...and Jimmy, I see you are new here on the boards, didn't wanna have to call you out on this but man, since your no onboard: dude, check your integrity when things like that start to "occur" or slide away from ya...you gotta be polite (yes), but ya can't let this lady treat the listeners like that...If I was yer boss or GN or whoever there at PremRat that purports to hold any sway, I'd rap ya on your knuckles for not standing up for the callers. Then back to Boulter, she kept putting ppl down by saying things just aren't that simply, the answers ppl were looking for could not be deduced to simple answers...WTF is that about. Is / are ANY of the possible outcomes to any question a straight-forward thing with her? It sure didn't seem to ever be with her. She was rude to the callers to their ears and Jimmy, you kept takin' her side. One gentleman in particular seemed to know his shit and was translating words to both of you and ya's STILL shut him down. Just before he was sloppily cut-off, you could here him distinctly say "oh come on!" and I would have too after presenting fact and / or a case and asking for an answer and then rudely be told that the guest would now like to hang up on the show because every question was wrong...abso-fucking-tootly ridiculous that that was ever allowed to continue without an apology to the listeners.
Thats no way to treat the fan base. Jimmy, sorry man, that was pathetic. Nothing we can do now but move on, but man...you should know.

Honestly, the only guy around that deserves MUCH MORE than he's getting is George Knapp. That dude is SOLID...outshined GN and ALL other hosts there, even my fellow canuck Syrett ...

anybody else think so or is Jamal just having a conip?
