You mean you haven't obeyed Norry's constant chiding to follow him on twitter and 'like' him on Facebook?  ;)

The Snorge is on Twitter?  That ought to be enlightening

3x5 cards.  Not just for radio.

Uncle Duke

After an hour of Norry explaining how smartphones and technology are so amazing he started his name-dropping mentioning that Barry McGuire emailed him and that his song "Eve of Destruction" was "recarded" 51 one years ago.

The mid-week open lines brought out some characters, including some poor Vet with COPD who is being smoked-out by his neighbor because he is Jewish and the city of Tacoma will do nothing about it. His daughter left and his wife divorced him over the incessant smoke coming into his house. He also insinuated we gave a special flu to enemies in Vietnam in addition to using weather modification on them but, of course, Norry ignored what could've been interesting stories or theories.

A lady, Barbara, called in with her concerns about the post office and Norry opined that "everything is email" and explained that people are using "brown trucks" for packages and that the post office used to be a "one show pony" as NMN mentioned, and the bizarre exchange between Norry and blind persons. Norry mentioned that he might send him a CCrane radio for Christmas. I'm sure that will happen.

That character from Tacoma sounds like a perfect "ConspiracyDate.com" match up with Annie.

The interaction with the blind people was pure comedy and ridiculous. He could've delved into issues that would be interesting regarding blind people's dreams, those born blind vs became blind, the advances in medical technology to reserve it in some cases, content of dreams (in color, no color, limited to current vision or former vision,) the problem of circadian rhythms, and etc. Instead stuff like: how do you know you're awake? I was surprised that he didn't offer to send them an unread guest's book, which he has done in the past to blind callers.

Indeed she could use handpumps to blow the smoke away and her birds as 'canaries in the coal mine' to see if the smoke was at toxic levels. I was a bit surprised that Norry didn't use his call- as a way to promo his dating site, but he is a bit thick.

Amazishing. "Here's a dumb question" is pretty decent description of the show under Norry's aegis, though I admit it makes for some unintended comedy.

The Snorchlax

well, open lines was a huge risk for the Noory

The offering of the pile of books to the blind person was classic. He clearly was on auto-pilot and not paying attention or actually "being there" for the conversation.

This was also puzzling because the blind guy had just told George he listens to him every night. Erm, on a radio, presumably.

albrecht

Norry had Jan Bondeson on again last night, who I like for his accent and Victorian-era true crime stuff and he is a guest who can talk and ignore a stupid question. He also is not politically-correct in a quaint Continental way, even though he only is 53 the accent and topic discussed make him seem like older guy.

JB: "he feared becoming like mother and so the best thing would be for him to die [by suicide]"
Norry: "Huh, that is an interesting take."

Just Me

Open lines is the only thing that makes snoron feel superior to the call in idiots that can't form a complete sentence without going uuummmm, aaahhh, and umm, and aaaahh and then being hung up on. It's the power over the misguided sheeple

Zetaspeak

I just cant' bring myself to listen to open lines anymore. As much as we complain about his interview skills and quality and repetitiveness of guests. I think the quality of callers that call in are even worse.

The audience clearly reflects the show.  All those goofs calling into George are like a big mirror reflecting his own doofus-ness.

I enjoyed Bondeson, too, and as for ignoring stupid questions, he got a doozy from George.
After Jan had talked for some time about 'murder houses' in London which are, you know, houses in which murders were committed, Noory asked:
''Why are they called murder houses?"

And I got very worried about Momma Noory listening in. Not only did she have to endure all that talk about prostitutes, but then Bondeson got on to 29 Cranley Gardens, former abode of Denis Nielsen (about whom George was oddly ignorant) and she had to listen to talk of gay sex and bodies rotting under floorboards. A swift Google later, George observed 'They call him the British Jeffrey Dahmer'. After a pained silence, Bondeson came back with 'They might do in the US: They certainly don't do that here.'

whoozit

Why does George sometimes preface with "Here's a dumb question"?  I thought that was implied and understood for most questions he asks.

It's written on a 3x5 Noory has to read.  Tommy likes to snicker everytime Jorch reads it.

Corona Kitty

Christianmingle.com Remmeber folks your potential serial killer awaits.

Norry, why did you not treat her better?

C2C OPEN LINES Listen too 15 minutes of George Noory's open lines ,than 15 minutes of Art Bell's open lines. What comparison would u make of them ?

Morgus

One caller last night during Noory's open lines had the audacity to compliment Noory and also Art Bell for "picking Noory as his replacement"
Noory didn't correct the caller and tell him Art has said many times he had nothing to do with picking Noory...

Little Hater

Noory: "What about our Second Amendment?"

Guest Janet Wolter, who, according to her website bio, 'has made herself something of an expert when it comes to certain aspects of United States and European history.': "Which is?"

She's cute, though.

In other news, Noory announced last night that he has sent an email to North Korean nutjob Kim Jong-un, protesting the 15 year sentence given an American tourist, who stole a banner from his hotel.

Who vacations in North Korea?

Every minute of being interviewed by the one neuron noron must have been pained. Oh the things people will do for a little publicity.

In other paragraphs, he asked, "What kind of mousse do you use to get that look?"

"Are you a Coast Insider, yet?"

"Let's meet in Seoul, then we will be Seoul to Seoul."  "Of course, I want to interview you."

Jorch would have a better chance to help by sending a turkey sandwich.
