Thanks willy! If it was recorded between 1955 and 1990, I've probably heard it.  Also some after that but not all the bubblegum boy band crap or rap. I was in my teens in the 80's but I'm crazy for all rock 'n' roll going back to the beginning and before the music got its name.  There is a lot of music from the 40's that would have been labeled rock in the late 50's.
1 band that I never really cared for is The Rolling Stones. I was a teen of the 90's and got to like bands like 10000 maniacs and They Might Be Giants. Birdhouse in my Soul is a great tune but man it dosn't make a dang bit of sense. I also really liked hank williams jr and wish he would put out another album

In honor of Art, he cut down the health infomercial from one hour from the usual two.

It is sad to see Coast in death throws, the show is in its demise.

That screaming woman kickstarter commercial that runs on Art's show has also started running on c2c...

Poor Dave, always late to the party. He's been chasing that elusive Art-Bell-Magic for years now... he'll never "get it"

Don`t be fooled that George has upped his game just because he switched from decaf and sounds more alert. He`s still the mental laziest person on radio. I did tune in long enough to hear his new emu oil rub commercial where he states "it gets deep like we do on Coast". Sure you do,George. You ask the same damn questions of the same damn guests each time they are on. Most of the time in the same damn order!  In football parlance George you don`t "move the ball down the field". GNS

I tuned in for a minute after I listened to Art's excellent show. Dave was telling the guest to explain to all the new young listeners they're getting and he emphasized "many, many more" new listeners. It was not convincing.  ::)

The floodgate of new listeners is epic. And by epic, I mean Noory's level of fail.

I'm not a huge Stones fan.  I'm more of a Beatles fan.  However, I have to say that the Stones recorded a lot of great songs in the Brian Jones era when they were first starting out. There was a compilation album of their 70's output called Suckin' In The 70's and for years I thought the title was apt.  If I hear Angie one more time,  I think I'll throw up.  I have warmed up to a lot of their 70's output over the years probably because most of today's popular music really really sucks. Just like Jorch.

Well, speaking of the Stones,  I'll post a song where the title is apt regarding Jorch's career.

True, I like Ronald Mallet though. It seems they are trying to up their game by at least getting decent guests and cutting down the infomercial health crap, a bit.

Give them a week then they`ll be Art`s new listeners.

True!

It was brilliant of Art to retain elements from his original show- the opening, bumper music, thunder, Ross, etc. It really illustrates the contrasts between the two hosts.  :)

The Beatles later in their career owe George Martin  for a big part of their success just like they owe Buddy Holly (whom they riffed off down to the bow at the end of a performanced ) for their earlier success. As far as the Stones, they have had songs but no good album since Some Girls.

The Beatles' influences were many and varied and they pretty much wore their hearts on their sleeves with them. Little Richard (McCartney frequently does a straight impression), Elvis, Jerry Lee, Carl Perkins (Harrison especially), Chuck Berry, Elmore James, The Everley Brothers (harmonies!), The Miracles (they expressed shock when they first came to the States to discover that white America did not hear black music) all of Country and more went into the mix and came uniquely out the other end. Holly, of course. Lennon had a soft spot because he wore geek glasses. Buddy and the Crickets were also the first self-contained group. It's even suggested the name The Beatles (Beetles) owed something to The Crickets, including what Lennon perceived as a pun - unaware that it was highly unlikely that Buddy would have been aware of the English game.
I wouldn't pay too much attention to the bow: almost every band and performer concluded with a theatrical bow in those days, especially in the UK.
I pretty much agree about Some Girls being the last decent Stones album, and Angie also has me reaching for the sick bowl. But I loved their 60s output and I have always suggested that after the disaster of Satanic Majesties, their embarrassing attempt to go psychedelic, few bands can match their run of albums from the late 60s into the mid-70s: Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile On Main Street, Goat's Head Soup. Five magnificent albums in six years.

Oh, and I've also always argued that there is no doubt that George Noory Sucks.

I was born in 1969, so the 70's is where I started listening to rock...never really cared for either group, I was a Who and Zeppelin fan...but I hear ya on the bubble gum pop of the Beatles...wasn't my thing...

Paul McCartney admitted he and John wrote songs while listening to "That`ll Be the Day". Buddy Holly was more than a little influence to the Beatles; look up McCartney in Lubbock,TX last year. Buddy Holly was dead before he would have heard anything about the Beatles.

Led Zeppelin may end up surpassing them all. Why not, they only had the greatest rock drummer,a top three all-time lead guitarist, and a top six (in my opinion) frontman. Time check: ok,George still sucks

Though the first hour last night was another of Noory's frequent alternative health infomercials.
And with his main guest Prof Mallet, Noory asked the same question again for the umpteenth time: What would Einstein have been able to have done if he had a modern computer?  :o

And Prof Mallet, once again (!,) replied to Norry that in his opinion computers just help with the speed, modeling, and calculations- you still need creativity and thought of a person to come up with new theories and ideas. Norry seems to think the "firepower" on our smartphones and computers solve everything.

But Mallet is a likeable, smart, and just interesting guy. I hope Art has him on at some point but not for a sufficient length of time.

I've me him several times.

He's a very mild, nice guy.

We never talked time travel.

I finally pulled the plug on my C2C membership.  Cancelled!  I wonder at what rate people are fleeing Jorch's mess.  What a year 2015 is turning out to be for me: new degree, new job albeit contract-to-hire, new temporary apartment, Art is back, I've changed broadcast subscriptions, resigned from my old job...  I don't recognise my life, but I'm happy!

Interesting. Live near him or in academic circles? Just curious, don't need to say. He seems like a nice guy and I enjoy his theories and motivations and personal stories. When I meant "sufficient time" I didn't mean that Art should limit the time of the interview because he is boring- I meant more "soon after" or "recently" the C2C show- just so he doesn't get banned from C2C because he is one of the remaining guests that is engaging there also. I think he and Art though would have a great discussion.
