This is so goofy, it may actually be a political discussion I can relate to.  Although, if there really is a correlation, I'd think there'd be more movies featuring The Blob.

Whoever here suggested Joorch is showing signs of dementia may just be on to something. Mentioning how when The Weather Channel started it just did live weather, Noory says his father would just sit there and 'love it'. He tells Coleman his father passed away in '88.
Then says in the last hour with Coleman they'll take 'all kinds of phone calls'. What is that? Long ones, short ones, good ones, bad ones, funny ones....

I can't imagine. One almighty shitfest coming up. Two days before Halloween, would it be possible to celebrate horror for itself without having to give it some spurious socio-political context? Not that Noory will have anything to contribute beyond throwing out titles and asking the guest what his take on that is. And a five-year-old's questions about evil.

I expect Noory to make some comment about IT, the Stephen King telemovie about the clown. Zombies will also no doubt be brought up.  Psychic vampires will also come up at some point shortly after Dracula is mentioned.

There will not be any discussion of interesting horror films like The Black Cat, Black Sunday and Black Sabbath.  Maybe a casual mention to the Lady in White (It's been a few years since he brought up that one) but no mention of the Haunting (Noory may mention the lousy remake) or the Uninvited.  Maybe the Conjuring (great film) will be brought up but I sort of doubt it.   I wonder if Noory ever caught Thriller with Boris Karloff when he was growing up.  That show was very hit or miss.  One week you could have a great episode (Pigeons From Hell or the Hungry Glass come to mind) that rivals Twilight Zone's best; then next week, a terrible crime drama about an out-of-work trumpet player trying to off his old biddy mother-in-law with an accompanying terrible jazz score.

There will not be any discussion of interesting horror films like The Black Cat, Black Sunday and Black Sabbath.  Maybe a casual mention to the Lady in White (It's been a few years since he brought up that one) but no mention of the Haunting or the Uninvited.  Maybe the Conjuring (great film) will be brought up but I sort of doubt it.   I wonder if Noory ever caught Thriller with Boris Karloff when he was growing up.  That show was very hit or miss.  One week you could have a great episode (Pigeons From Hell or the Hungry Glass come to mind) that rivals Twilight Zone's best, then next week, a terrible crime drama about an out-of-work trumpet player trying to off his old biddy mother-in-law. 

George will just spend the whole show talking about shit that wont make his mom angry at him. That way when the show is over he has a place to go home to in the morning. The man is seriously like the the Norman Bates of radio, and probably dresses up in drag too... but in this case only for Tommy.

You hit the mark.  Noory has never found a woman to replace his mother.  That's one of the reasons why he is divorced.  I bet he's a pain in the ass to live with.  Bossy, likes things done his way and if you don't like it, that's tough.  I'd love to read a tell-all biography of Noory by one of his ex-wives.  I realize that there's not much of an audience for a marginal "celebrity"-cough, cough -like Noory. Though it would probably sell more than the books he's written with Birnes and Guiley.

Just an odd observation, but it's interesting to me that George talked about Sir Graves Ghastly as an icon of his childhood when he pretty much had to know the guy in real life. Sir Graves Ghastly was on WJBK in Detroit at the same time he worked there.

Problem with this is the original was so terrible but entertaining. Convulsive laughter erupts every time I watch it.  The remake will probably be boring and unremarkable.

Somebody ought to call in the show and ask Mr. Lobo about Jess Franco horror movies like A Virgin Among The Living Dead, Vampyros Lesbos, and Lorna The Exorcist to mention only a few.  The show would probably then go off the rails.
