They are all Jess.  Damn Jess.

When I'm feeling naughty and, in particular, sadomasochistic I masturbate to Jess. Then I cut myself.

Twice daily. I like to call it Jess O'Clock.

Country Music.

To be truthful, it doesn't so much annoy me as make me want to shoot myself in the face as I throw myself off a ludicrously high building seconds after setting myself on fire and cutting myself along the vein from wrist to elbow.

It's just the same song over and over and over, sung by a variety of interchangeable,  cowboy hat-wearing, bearded uber-patriots, and big-haired jesus-a-fearin women, who all sound like they came from the same weird compound somewhere in Texas.

Dude!  'Guitars and Cadillacs'!  Who can't get behind that?

Why do you hate your country?

Not only that, but most of the songs are written by a team of songwriters rather than the actual "artists."

Jazdownunda... He's weird, no one should care what some Ozzie has to say that wasn't even born yet, in the heyday of Art's classic C2C shows. I mean like man, listening to Art on mp3 censored files is nothing like suffering through a live Art broadcast with hours of mindless commercials for insane products.

Clearly you must be listening to some 40 top pop country station or unfamiliar with the genre. Sure many songs are written by song-writers. Hence the term "song writer". Or common themes, hence genre. That doesn't make a song bad. Every song, orchestral work, symphony, rap music, etc has some writer or composer. Except possibly folk-songs- in which case they have developed over the decades and are marketed to popularity by a good rendition.

Often the song-writer might sing it or might sell it to another singer. Or maybe make it big later (Willie comes to mind there.) Or never make it big on his own but write great songs. Who knows? All music, at least popular types, ones have a "formula", esp if you only listen to the stuff promoted on the radio, tv, and youtube (For "country music" that reads Nashville and Hollywood). Producers, companies formerly called record labels, tv, program directors, multi-track studios, editing, voice modulating algorithms, demographic studies, familiar chord progressions, marketing, etc etc etc. Doesn't mean there isn't any good music out there. Or even that good music doesn't sometimes get marketed and therefore become popular.

-Now, when it comes to type of accents, instruments used, looks, etc it comes down to taste, prejudice, familiarity, culture, similarity to what other types of music one likes, age, etc. Though I still contend that sometimes even if unfamiliar with the genre, or even language, some stuff can cross-over and be beautiful or good music even if you weren't familiar with it.

If I have seen far, it is because I have been standing on a small stack of telephone books while doing the reverse cowgirl.

Yeah, and if they're so great, why do they seemingly have award shows for themselves like every week?

Agree, agree.  One of my favorite threads here is the Music thread.  I've expanded my music collection so much I have too much to fit on my iPod.  ::)

Oh, this is the "annoy" thread....

Rain, I'm sick of rain.

These were taken from the front corner of my house.  It didn't get into the basement...yet....    sigh

You really are Treading Water. :(

Better get the sandbags.

I still love the Porter Waggoner show

I don't care who wrote it-its the performance that matters. If it was written by Rodgers & Hammerstein and performed by Coltrane or Miles Davis, the performance matters. Or Dolly Parton and performed by the White Stripes. Or Gary White and sung by Linda Ronstadt.

Music is meant to be shared. Take the music and show us who you are.

theres no carbon in it to date. so you have to rely on the date code imprinted on the processor.
