My triggered relative in Hollywood sent out walls of texts during election night about "cutting off from her life everyone she knows who voted for Trump" etc. Also previously has said that there should be no anonymous voting, people should be able to know how people voted. Very "liberal" values.

so a bigot is planning to excise people from her life because they don't agree with her?  good riddance.

Trump just dumped Christie as head of his transition team.  He put Pence in Christies's place.  Good move.

Are you sending her a thank you note?

I'm letting her sober up (I suspect) and waiting for things to settle down. It is amazing how many people invest so much emotional energy (in whatever case) in politicians.

Christie's inclusion among Trump's associates bothers me, too.  I hope he won't be made AG or anything else, but we'll see.  Christie's views on marijuana criminalization are strangely overzealous.  More importantly, he wants to set up a no fly zone in Syria and start WW3 by shooting down Russian jets when they enter it.  WW3 for Syria?  Fuck that.   If we have to fight global terrorism, let's find ways to work with Russia, I say.  Christie is mired in obsolete Cold War thinking, which corrupts his perception of the world and makes him dangerous.  Having said all of that, you are aware the Clintons are associated with some questionable people themselves, right?  Nobody in Clinton's circle of friendship/trust troubles you?

Wouldn't it be great if Trump supporters quietly took these 'jobs' and sabotaged the effort by going full retard?  "Uh, I spent 5 hours typing up this screed for publication and thought I pressed send.  'Delete' isn't that french for 'send?'"  "Um, I was driving around to deliver these signs, stopped for a latte and got all caught up in hugging the butt hurt.  What?  Missed the riot?  Darn!"

LOL! Classic!  ;D

there's just no energy out there for clinton.  it seems sanders fills stadiums with electric enthusiasm while hillary almost fills hotel conference rooms with tepidly committed voters motivated more by HRC's political inertia and supposed "inevitability" than anything else.

the democrats are making a huge mistake if they let the superdelegates deny sanders the nomination.  hillary will lose.  i think sanders could draw infinitely more crossover votes than clinton.   hillary's perceived as being corrupt; sanders isn't.  hillary's perceived as an aggressively self interested climber bent on satisfying her personal ambitions; sanders isn't.  she's perceived as having indirectly used public office to enrich herself; he isn't.

i personally wouldn't be so broken up over the idea of a sanders presidency.  my top two candidates on isidewith:

1) donald trump  83%
2) bernie sanders  77%

had bush, rubio, kasich, christie or fiorina become the republican nominee, i would have planned on voting for sanders in november.

I didn't even fucking vote for Trump but the fact that I won a large sum of money and was completely real about things has made some of my close friends kick me out of their life.  ;D  ;D  ;D

Whatever faggots, I'll see you when you're done throwing a tantrum and need a favor.  ;D  8)

That is sort of what I meant.  Everybody wants to stay in their own comfortable bubble.  Why actually look at the people that Trump is putting in key positions if it might make you uncomfortable?

The left does the same thing- read only what confirms their world view...

Is he supposed to not surround himself with people who've made careers in politics? If you research the people he's coming up with, there's a sound logic there. This article spent four paragraphs telling me about how I should think before telling me Trump is talking to a couple of career bureaucrats while not supplying any evidence of why that is bad.

Kid voted for Trump in a mock election at school.  Bitch mother kicks him out. >:(

I find the reactions of some of the elites interesting... As though there is nothing to worry about... And with the "swamp heavy" transition team, maybe there is not anything for the ruling elite and career politicians and lobbyists to worry about.  I guess I was hoping to see some change early on.

Leaders in his transition include former Rep. Mike Rogers, former Reagan Attorney General and Heritage Foundation fellow Edwin Meese, former President of Heritage Edwin Feulner, former Bush administration official and lobbyist Christine Ciccone, former Dick Cheney adviser Ado Machida, former Senate Budget Committee staffer Eric Ueland and Sen. Jeff Sessions' former chief of staff Rick Dearborn. The effort is chaired by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christi

Meese told CNN that in general, the transition is going "very well," and suspected the heavy involvement from key Heritage personnel shows that his think tank will have a strong influence on Trump.

While the GOP platform called for reinstating Glass-Steagall and Trump's campaign manager at the time promoted it, Christie told the financial services lobbyists gathered that Trump is often open to changing his mind when he gets input from people with expertise.

James Wallner, group vice president of research at Heritage, said he is encouraged that Trump will heed the recommendations of his organization for two reasons. One is that their ideals line up with many of his campaign promises, and two is that Heritage has made an effort to craft all of their recommendations in an easy-to-use manner.

So, you have Chris Christie saying that Trump can be easily influenced by "people with expertise", think tanks who think that their policies can just be directly implemented because they are "easy to use", and a transition team filled with career politicians.

I honestly hope Trump pulls the plug on that swamp sooner than later.  It is still early- but these are not encouraging signs for anybody who wants "hope and change."  ;)

***Bolded the parts that concern me more than who is on the transition team.  I will say that it is early- but I want to see the first bucket taken out of the swamp.
