I don't understand the protest.  What do they want to accomplish?  All I can see is that such protests just tend to solidify the opposition.  Do we REALLY want this?  Two opposing camps becoming more and more hateful of each other?  Isn't that what happened in Germany so long ago?  It's dumb to protest the inevitable.  Let's just try and see if we can all work together for the betterment of the country as a whole.

I would guess that they are sending a message and giving a warning to Trump and company that if he tries to make good on certain of his promises, the ones that would violate Constitutional rights particularly, he will face popular protests that he will have trouble ignoring.

This is a direct result of him saying the things he did during the campaign. He could help the situation by directly addressing and repudiating some of his past comments. We'll see how he handles this.

I think both of the choices sucked. I'm not feeling good about a Trump presidency though i do like some of the stuff he said that made a lot of sense to me. Mostly about sending people who know how to deal to go to foreign countries to make the deals that will benefit us. As opposed to what we have been doing.


What worries me though is the environment. He doesn't give a shit about it. So it seems to me that while you are all celebrating for personal reasons the planet on which you reside is going to get closer to being uninhabitable.

Obviously, it's a reaction to his winning but that's much more to it than that. Depending on what he says and does from this point on, he can make a bunch of people either more or less upset.

As for responding, I recall Nixon looking out the window in the White House and asking the cops to move the protesters to the other side of the street. Trump won't be any less annoyed, I imagine.
