Speaking of propping, up regimes.  Last time I checked it was the left propping up regimes in Iran with that fake deal. But I got it though, it is good if the left props up a regime but bad if the right does the same thing.  I'll go with the right since we did not have to give North Korea a single dime.

I guess you have to use 'fake' all the time as part of your Pavlovian mind control. The Iran deal actually involved specifics not vague commitments. And the point was not to prop up a regime but to avoid a nuclear exchange and reduce tensions. Iran has a very young, western-friendly population, and it's a matter of playing a long game until they are old enough to take power. Better than a war. Unless you are an arms manufacturer who actually needs wars to turn a profit.

You're just jealous because your guy or gal wasn't able to bring the two sides together.  Trump outflanked you by using peace through strength.

The agreement Clinton signed with a Kim held 9 years. I sincerely hope Trump's agreement - with all the necessary specifics and conditions still to come - surpasses that

Besides, we need all those security forces protecting South Korea turned on our new national security threat, Canada

You've got to admit this was a great success. Kim gets his face on media all over the world, further propping up his kleptocratic regime. Even the dumbest N Korean knows now that Trump treats his enemies much better than his friends so they'll do all they can to weasel out of any commitments, not that there were any. Nukes are the only thing you need to be taken seriously by Trump, so I imagine all the pissant countries in the world will be trying their hardest to enrich uranium now.

But don't you point this out because it just shows how fake you are and it makes PB very cross. These right-wingers can't help themselves, they love to abase themselves before power, no matter how phoney and corrupt.

Kim has stopped launching missiles, released prisoners and signed an agreement indicating his willingness to denuclearize.  All this without a shot being fired, plane loads of cash being tendered or one sanction being lifted.   Naysaying is the only thing left to the feckless timid left.  It’s rhetoric today  is virtually identical to that it spewed when Reagan was busy dismantling the Soviet Union.

Maybe you can tell us exactly what you would consider progress at this point if not what Trump has achieved.

You laugh, but did you see those eyebrows?

Wasn’t it less than a year ago that Trump was causing WW III with NK and now you are wondering if his agreement will last longer than 9 years. Sounds like progress.

It must have cost NK a fortune to launch those missiles, I bet they couldn't wait to stop. It was all an attempt to get attention and Trump fell for it. Trump is now on record basically juggling Kim's nuts in his mouth. Maybe you consider paying protection money to the Mafia a good deal too. You 'negotiated' at the point of a gun and then you said thank you for not getting your head blown off.

Trump lost much more than money. He has shown again that he is a paper tiger perfectly happy to push allies around but fawns on opponents if they stand up to him. And you also lost any sense of the dignity of the office. Honestly, Trump goes out of his way to arrange a summit with a shithole like NK? Kim should come and visit you FFS.

He obviously can't command quality people anymore so he's left with yes men and thickos. They clearly got duped into thinking they were getting more until NK pulled a switch on them. Pathetic.

Unlike some I'd give Trump credit for doing a good job. I'll leave the silly left-right obsession for senescent Foxophiles like you.

It’s impossibke to judge the effectiveness of a peace talks and agreements 5 minutes after they occurred. At the time we didn’t know how important Reykjavik or Reagan’s West Berlin speach would be.. Of corse this doesn’t stop the left from issuing their predictable baseless hate filled criticism. Lemmings simply regurgitating what the media tells them. The media having written their criticism days and weeks prior. It’s the usual left wing hysteria.

So after 5 minutes the left is complete meltdown like always. And tomorrow they’ll be telling us to be patient with the Mueller witch hunt. That after 2 years of illegal wire taps, spying, and hundreds of millions spent, which has produced zero evidence of collusion, we need to wait for Mueller to put his case together. Pathetic.

This is the left. This is the demokkkrat party. The side of no ideas. No solutions. No inspiration. Just predictable obsessive hate.

I am very sincere about not wanting nuclear war to start on the Korean Peninsula. I'm happy to see everyone calm the fuck down over Korea

Besides, now I have to worry about Canada

lol. Trump just called the new agreement "historic and comprehensive". Well it was a whole page long. And one of the four agreements was what Kim already signed with South Korea

I'm loathed to quote RCH but 'Words matter'. They both have basked in the coverage and if that was the desired outcome, it's worked. The rest is very broad strokes of the brush with no 'deal'. Past presidents have refused to meet the NKs and negotiate any withdrawal from SK unless NK eliminates its nuclear weapons. It seemed before Trump went to Singapore that that too was the deal breaker; NK absolutely must get rid of it's nuclear weapons, and have it overseen now and in the future..

That isn't what has happened. Instead the fat kid has said he wants to see work towards the entire peninsula de-nuclearised, and (and this is the bit lost in the small print). Withdrawal of the US from SK..

Trump has announced he'll stop US military exercises with SK, but hasn't demanded NK get rid of its nuclear weapons.

How do you think SK, Japan, Australia might react to that? It was a priceless publicity coup for the fat kid, he can bask in his obvious acceptance by the USA for years. He's joined the serious club now and he has the footage to prove it. Trump had the temerity to say that the NK people have great fervor; What the fuck does that mean? They're starving, get put in labour camps, have family members killed on a whim and a dictator who demands and gets absolute devotion. And Trump admires that by suggesting the population has a say in it all?

Do you continue to believe Trump is anything more than a retarded moron who basically hasn't a clue how the world works?

I bet Trump was whining about having to read a whole page, he wanted a few maps in there.

I get the feeling this thing will last about as long as Trump Steaks. The best steaks, believe me.

Of course it's historic and comprehensive to Trump, because Trump looks at everything with him being the centre of attention. If things go to shit, it will be someone else's fault.

Or his university.

We will see how things play out with North Korea.  We certainly have better relations with them now than we have had at any other time in this century.  Will it last?  Who knows but no one (including me) thought Trump would get us to this point.

Has the fat kid agreed to having all his nuclear weapon R & D and the hardware removed and overseen? ...(A pre-condition of the 'summit' from the US point of view) Nope

Has Trump agreed to ending military exercises with SK...(pre-condition demanded by the fat kid)...Yep, Trump has announced that's what he'll do.

The fat kid didn't even have to try, jeeze he must be wetting himself laughing. "And all I had to say was we'll aspire to getting rid of nukes with no agreement we'd do it, then he said okay, we'll stop playing war games with the south...I couldn't believe it!!! Fuck, I know they said he wasn't bright, but until I met him I didn't realise how fucking stupid he is!"

Actual detail, not vague commitments. This whole thing was supposed to be about giving up nuclear weapons. How about some agreement on how that would be achieved? A timetable, what progress to expect and by what date. The US obviously expected something like that but they got snookered out of it and settled for cloudy assurances. It didn't need to be very specific, but the fact that they couldn't even get that tells me NK aren't serious.

This is all because Trump is too lazy to bother with detail. Why would he when idiots like you are so easily pleased? NK was too wily for him in this case, though. This is what we get from a president who doesn't read, doesn't value knowledge and expertise, and blusters through everything.

Anything else, gramps?

1) a no dog eating agreement
2) DMZ remains but as like a national park. Rare animals and plants are thriving there, oddly
3) Demand on China- no more "Oriental Medicine" trade that encourages poaching and bad radio hosts.
4) Denuclearization
5) Mandatory barber/hair-stylist training for both countries (this a 'concession' to the Brits who give commendations, or whatever they call them,  to hair-stylists, look it up. True. And both need some.)
6) no more Samung spying or N.Korean counterfeit currency and drugs.
7) just for the heck of it, and as a throw-back, official negotiations will be done in French.
For a start....

7) No more murder of relatives.
8) No tutoring Trump on how to murder relatives.

Then Churchill showed up and showed the kids how to lead. We had the Blitz, the Battle of Britain, essentially going it alone. Prescott Bush meanwhile had been helping to finance Hitler's side of the game. Still no hard feelings.
